How many subscriptions do you have.

My monthly subscriptions to services/products seem to be increasing and I’m going to try and cut down. What current subscriptions to you have?

I have Netflix, Paramount +, Amazon Prime, Dermatica, Tinder, Google storage and Spotify. Tinder is getting deleted today as that’s a big waste of money, and I think Netflix will be going too as I can never find anything decent to watch.

I have none of that stuff. You don't need it.

Well you don't 'need' many things, but who are you to tell people that they are wrong for what they spend their own money on.
Does it make you feel superior?

Floralnomad · 21/05/2023 18:44

Amazon Prime, Netflix, Now tv, Disney plus, ITV x Premium (which includes Britbox BTW, which I used to have, also includes Studio Canal Presents which is also a pay channel on Amazon, so great value altogether), Paramount plus (got half price for a year, will cancel afterwards), Apple TV ( currently free), Washington Post, Weight Watchers, £15 a year for extra storage on Google, various Subscribe and Save items on Amazon. Can't remember any more.

Far too many, clearly! Used to share some of the TV streaming services with DD, but she's not in a position to pay right now so we pay it.

Decafflatteplease · 21/05/2023 20:09

Remembered another one...printer ink so pretty boring but so useful!

SophiaElise · 21/05/2023 20:21

Ocado smartpass

greey · 22/05/2023 05:11

BBC Radio/Tv license

I think that's it but I need to get Demalogica when I have a mo.
Always thinking of getting YouTube premium for those days that I watch loads of music videos - but I know the second I do I won't use it so I don't bother.

Blueberry40 · 22/05/2023 05:51

As a household: Netflix, prime, Apple TV, Real Homes magazine, Stitch Fix, Lookerio, Apple storage, MS games, Spotify x 2 accounts. Just cancelled Simply Cook and Hello Fresh. Have also cancelled Gousto, Dermatica, Makebox and Beauty Pie a few months ago.

MrsRickAstley · 22/05/2023 05:53

Netflix Disney+ Paramount NowTv (Entertainment)

HelenaJustina · 22/05/2023 06:44

Prime, National Trust, Private Eye (DH) and 79p iCloud storage option. We have a v old tv so can’t watch Prime on it, it’s used for delivery only.

Pahpahpotato · 22/05/2023 06:48

Netflix (pay for one of the higher subscriptions as my sister has access too), Prime, Disney+ (technically, altho this is a 12 month ‘freebie’ from Lloyds) and kindle unlimited

Beezknees · 22/05/2023 06:59

I have Netflix but it's included in my Sky package at a discount. Also have amazon prime and spotify, and a subscription to my local gym.

Arewehumanorarewecupboards · 22/05/2023 08:33

Just Liberty and headspace. Both equally as important to me as others find Netflix etc

GeraltsBathtub · 22/05/2023 09:20

Spotify
iCloud storage
Ethical Consumer magazine
British Museum membership
I also pay for an email service and sponge off a family Netflix subscription so I guess we will lose access to that as it’s not worth paying for myself. I had the Times until recently but I wasn’t getting enough time to read it to make it worthwhile.
Surprised so many people need prime. I completely quit Amazon over 5 years ago and haven’t looked back.

eurochick · 22/05/2023 09:40

Apple storage
Spotify
Readly (magazines - rarely used but occasionally useful)
Downward dog (yoga and running)
A Year With My Camera (photography)

My husband has Netflix, Disney and Prime family accounts so I can access those too.

KatnissNeverdone · 22/05/2023 09:50

Oh loads. Prime, Netflix, Disney+, Now TV, Spotify, Audible, Kindle Unlimited, Calm, Xbox game pass, MS 365, Body Coach app, Asda delivery pass.

TheApplianceofScience · 22/05/2023 10:01

This thread makes for interesting reading.

At the moment Greatest Hits Radio are really pushing their premium service £3.99 a month to listen advert free. Although well used I resent paying for the family spotify, so ad free radio, not a chance. Grin

Has anyone else been suckered in by this one ?

Polis · 22/05/2023 10:32

Has anyone else been suckered in by this one ?

We talked about it, and it for all the radio stations on that network not just GHR, but decided that it wasn’t worth it for us.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 22/05/2023 12:31

Just remembered another couple:

Perfume Society subscription ( box of samples 4 times a year)

British Museum membership

CactusSantaDresser · 22/05/2023 12:40

Decafflatteplease · 21/05/2023 13:34

Prime, absolutely worth it for the quick delivery.

Netflix, Disney, paramount.

A gardening / seed subscription box. Meant to be for the kids but who am I kidding it's for me really 😂

Simply cook boxes

Contact lenses if they count! They come in the post.

Debating kindle unlimited... is it worth it?

I could never find anything worth reading on Kindle Unlimited. What is good, however, is BookBub's weekly newsletter that tells you which books are free to purchase that week on Amazon (and some of the other book download sites, but Amazon is definitely the most supported). I've had hundreds of pounds worth of books for free by following their recommendations.

Chewbecca · 22/05/2023 16:49

@CactusSantaDresser - thanks so much for that pointer, have just found a great selection of books for 99p!
