How many subscriptions do you have.

My monthly subscriptions to services/products seem to be increasing and I’m going to try and cut down. What current subscriptions to you have?

I have Netflix, Paramount +, Amazon Prime, Dermatica, Tinder, Google storage and Spotify. Tinder is getting deleted today as that’s a big waste of money, and I think Netflix will be going too as I can never find anything decent to watch.

Oh I forgot Audible. I also have a couple of professional ones for work.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 21/05/2023 16:59

Netflix
Prime
Disney ( I think - that's DH's department)
Spotify
Audible
A couple of Patreon accounts of podcasts I really enjoy so they can keep on creating content

We've cancelled Sky recently, also Mindful Chef as we just weren't using them all and it was going to waste.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 21/05/2023 17:01

Oh yeah, forgot Google storage and channel 4 with no adverts - that one is bliss. Not having to watch endless Coors Light adverts is worth any amount of money!

BiddyPop · 21/05/2023 17:07

I have prime and zoom and Dropbox. DH also has prime, and he has Spotify that he shares with dd.

DH pays family subscriptions for Netflix and for sky (tv as part of broadband bundle).

We listen to various podcasts and bbc radio on bbc sounds for free.

Refrosty · 21/05/2023 17:10

As a household:

Netflix: (on the verge of going though)
Discovery+: (so I can watch bike races and random, non popular, sports live. Plus it has a decent true crime and "survival reality TV" selection)
Disney+
Spotify
Prime
The Week Junior
DH has Google Storage

SquigglePigs · 21/05/2023 17:11

Netflix
Disney+
Amazon Prime
Google Storage
Loo roll delivery from Who Gives a Crap
Amazon subscription for kitchen roll
Simply cook (set for every 8 weeks)

SquigglePigs · 21/05/2023 17:12

Oh and a Tesco delivery pass

OldTinHat · 21/05/2023 17:13

Discovery + I did cancel it but got anxious about potentially missing out on any new bigfoot programmes, so I signed up again!

I do have a QVC subscription, which is £20 a quarter for one year, but it's for a product I use every day and will cost me a lot more to buy when the year ends.

LAHallucinations · 21/05/2023 17:19

Only Apple Cloud at the moment (99p a month). I’ve just cancelled Netflix and Now TV (£4.99 a month each) because I wasn’t using them enough. I think I’ll rejoin Britbox soon though. I don’t have any music subscriptions, I just have free Spotify as that works well for me on my desktop PC.

Blanketenvy · 21/05/2023 17:19

Loads but am trying to cull.
Amazon
Netflix
Now TV
Skin and me (just cancelled that)
Simply cook (only every 8 weeks)
Audible (use it a lot!)
Google storage
Razor thingy (just cancelled)
Also pay a couple of patreon podcasters.
Specsavers contact lens (but don't really count as so boring!)

JustKeepSlimming · 21/05/2023 17:23

DH has Sky Sports, and I have Duolingo, but I think that's all.

cucumberegg · 21/05/2023 17:32

Netflix
Prime (ending end of this month)
Spotify
iCloud
BT sport
Skin & me
Bakedin junior
Winedrops (if that counts as a subscription?)
Hellofresh
Protein subscription
Contact lenses

I'm a sucker for a subscription. I love a delivery

Southeastdweller · 21/05/2023 17:38

Two - Amazon Prime and Apple TV (for Ted Lasso).

For most of 2021 I used to have five on the go (and wasted a lot of money as I didn't have the time to watch all I wanted to). I stick with Prime mainly because of the free delivery but now I rotate my TV subscription every month or two. I'll go back to Netflix in August when the new season of Heartstopper comes on, and sign up again in November for The Crown. Same thing with Apple in a few months' time with Trying and Slow Horses. I'm really hoping the cancel anytime agreement they all do continues.

WetBandits · 21/05/2023 17:40

Too many, I probably need to slim them down a bit although some are non-negotiable (pet stuff!)

Netflix, Disney+, Now TV, Amazon Prime, Spotify, shampoo and conditioner every 3 months, Bella and Duke cat food every 2 weeks, dog supplements every 3 months, flea and wormer every month for 3 cats and 1 dog and a yearly subscription to the Geeky Medics app (best little pocket guide to every nursing procedure you can think of and how to interpret blood results etc., I recommend it to every newly qualified nurse and junior doctor I meet!)

yes, there is a minimum spend but it is still free, i.e. cheaper than paying for prime.

TwoBlueFish · 21/05/2023 18:05

Amazon - prime, music and kindle unlimited
Disney+
all paid yearly

Sky Sports - will be cancelled when the football season finishes.

essaytwenty · 21/05/2023 18:14

I am happy pay for Prime and have no minimum spend and fast delivery, next day in most cases. The Prime subscription has paid for itself in petrol saved travelling to buy urgently needed items.

WeightoftheWorld · 21/05/2023 18:16

We have Netflix but we share that with relatives who spend a fair bit of money on us tbh so I'm sure they pay for it (and more), that way anyway. We also have Spotify. That's it unless you count our mobile phone SIM only contracts and the broadband (incl. line rental). A close relative has Prime so on the rare occasion we need something via that they order it for us and we give them the money back. A close friend has Disney+ and kindly let's us share that from them at no cost.

Daisythecat15 · 21/05/2023 18:19

I have Netflix, Prime and Spotify premium. Also have Disney+ but that came free as a perk with my partner's bank account so doesn't really count as we don't pay for it.

Figgygal · 21/05/2023 18:30

Sky (free paramount +)
