Just seen on Instagram that PS is stepping down with immediate effect from This morning!
I mean, I'm not that bothered but there's been lots of speculation recently re his brother's conviction and the rumoured spat with Holly but I thought it would probably all blow over.
I'm sure he's got a bob or two is loaded but I'm still a bit surprised if I'm honest.

Phillip's Statement:

"I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story.
"Throughout my career in TV - including the very difficult last few days - I have always done my best to be honourable and kind.
"I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can't go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.
"So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future.
"I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me - especially This Morning's amazing viewers - and I'll see you all for the Soap Awards next month."
Holly's Statement:

"Hi everyone … It's been over 13 great years presenting This Morning with Phil and I want to take this opportunity to thank him for all of his knowledge, his experience and his humour. "The sofa won't feel the same without him."

ITV's statement:

"After more than 20 years on the This Morning sofa, Phillip Schofield has stepped back from ITV's flagship morning show having presented his last episode on Thursday 18 May.
"Having co-hosted the multi-award winning show for two decades, Phillip will continue to present peak time shows for ITV including next month's The British Soap Awards and a new prime time series.
"Holly Willoughby will remain on This Morning and will co-present with members of the This Morning family."

I can't speak for this young lad he befriended, who knows what happened there. But he ADMITTED knowing his brother was a paedophile and he didn't go to the police. Isn't that a crime?
The raft of people coming out and saying he's a nasty piece of work speaks volumes too.

Probably find out he's been screwing young blokes in the studio and it will probably come out soon so he's probably had to walk before being pushed.

Are you sure? I've met him through work and he is really nice and boobs are definitely not his thing.

The one thing I find odd, is the statements that have come out, they're very vague.... referring to 'this situation' can't do on, what situation?

Andy Peters is THE consummate professional, there will never be stories about any kind of misconduct from his neck of the woods.

The tension on set and the focus of the media and public on the tension and Phillip and Holly rather than on the show.

Possibly a reference to the media reports claiming that he and Holly don't speak off-screen?

A journalist has tweeted today, taking credit for the latest developments.

Their feud started three years ago...and after I broke the story in The Sun last Thursday that Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's relationship was so strained they had stopped talking - he has now got the boot from This Morning.

The only people lower than the scum on the show are the scum that watch it.

Timothy Schofield was found guilty of child sexual abuse so there must have been a person under 16 involved. This was proven in Court, he was found guilty.
Perhaps the boy was 16 by the time he told PS but it had been going on longer I.e. boy was under 16.
From BBC news:
He said he and his brother had a meal together and discussed mental health treatment, but his brother had confessed to the incidents involving pornography.
Mr Schofield's statement said: "I turned and said, 'What did you just say?' He said it was last year and we were alone together.
"Tim said it was just this once. I told him it should never happen again."
The presenter said his brother had then tried to give him more details about the incident.
"I said, 'F*, stop'. I shouted at Tim that he had to stop. I didn't want to know any of the details but he made it sound like a one-off," Mr Schofield said.
"I said, 'I don't want you to tell me any more'. I said, 'You've got to stop, just never do it again. Regardless how that happened it must never happen again'."

So it appears PS made assumptions about the boy’s age, that it wouldn’t happen again, that it was a “one off” when we all know you report abuse.

I've also met Andy Peters and was very sad to discover that he wasn't nice at all.

Matthew (Matt) McGreevy's LinkedIn page shows a lot of work experience in shows other than TM. It's an interesting scroll.

He also had a snapchat account for many years and would engage in friendly banter and chat with teenage boys (as young as 14) and stay in touch with them. When this came to light as one of the boys released some of their 3 year chat, Schofield's camp said he was saddened and disappointed by the assumptions made online that there was anything in appropriate in his online conversations with the boys and that Schofield has always liked to engage with his fans.

It’s finally happened…wonder if there’s more to come.

Holly surely has to go too…she knew everything about the runner etc, gave an Oscar worry performance on his *Coming out, when they’d all know for years. Ruth & Eamon were blindsided by it, Ruth had put a complaint in, not long after they were gone.

Would love love love to see them back on it, plus Rylan too, Vernon would be great and Emma Willis seems very lovely.

I don’t think Alison & Holly is good together at all, I like Dermot, not a huge fan of Alison,

Just get the old lot back, the decent people with integrity, but also great presenters!

Wont he be on Dancing on ice? That must surely only be a Holly & Phil thing then? But why would he need to go and she stays if he’s going to continue.

There are no coincidences in PR, there's a reason for everything. I doubt we will see PS on itv again regardless of the ITV statement. It's been made very clear that he isn't liked so being on any other tv show wouldn't change that.

The Ant & Dec story could be to take the heat off TM which didn't work no one cares about Saturday night thingy do they? Holly must feel quite unsafe as it would appear the public aren't keen on her either given she probably would've known about alleged indiscretions. I'm surprised these threads are still up to be honest.
