What has made you happy today?

Today I took DD2 for a walk around out local NT. She fell asleep in the pram and I sat on the deckchair in the sun for an hour reading a book. NT was quiet so I had the sounds of the birds, gorgeous views and in-between reading did a spot of people watching. On the walk back to the car I realised how happy this made me feel and that I can't remember the last time I had felt so relaxed.

So, what have you done today that's made you feel happy??

A meeting got canceled so I went into the garden and planted my new rosemary and sage plants into my new herb border and enjoyed a tiny bit of sunshine. My job is a bit full on with political nonsense so I enjoy little sane moments like that when I can.

Bigglebiggle · 15/05/2023 18:27

Its amazing what a little but of sunshine can do.

In my garden for four hours digging up the creeping buttercups that have invaded one of my flower beds and then replanting it. I know the bugger will come back but I will be ready for it next time.

I rescued a massive woodlouse from drowning in the cat's water bowel. I've always been scared of creepy crawlies but the dc absolutely love woodlice and the little beasties are starting to grow on me.

After burning his foot quite badly and needing a skin graft, my husband is finally home from hospital. This also means I’m now allowed to play the new Zelda as I promised I wouldn’t open it until he was home. Due to infection rules our children weren’t able to visit him in hospital, so they are both very happy that Papa is home.

I walked in the forget me not for ages whichich was so enjoyable then came home, had lunch with DS I haven't seen for ages, hung washing out and hung out with DH who is also off today. Really enjoyable and made me realise I hadn't felt this way in a long time, it's gorgeous sunny evening now.

Brilliant that he is home. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery

I looked after my 8 month old niece for an hour after work while her mum was at an appointment. She was really content and happy. Then I watered the garden and topped up all the bird feeders. I live watching the birds and I like to think I take very good care of them. Now just made a cup of tea and going to read some of my book

My cat Floof, a big Floofy tabby Maine Coon who is about 1.1 metres standing up like a meercat in the night several times with his front paws up high and curled small.

Swallowdoubleandrunamile · 15/05/2023 18:55

I had a little chat with a pygmy goat and lunch with my lovely DD.

@Silkierabbit you can't post that without a photo!!

Mine - my friend being a daft bugger! He's been so low lately, having him laugh & be a daft Bugger really made me happy 😊

oh & my pink knees reminding me it was a lovely sunny day here yesterday!

Teenage DS called 999 as on his walk home from school down a back lane he saw smoke billowing out of someone's out house. He then knocked on the door and the neighbours doors to alert the residents. He said while he was walking towards it 2 adults walked passed, took a photo on their phone then carried on walking. Didn't stop to call 999 or see if anyone needed help. This made me happy as teen DS can be a selfish so and so at times as most teenagers are but at least I know there is a good human in there.

Today was my half day at work so I got to collect my children from school at normal school finish and because it was so lovely and sunny we went to the park.

BitOutOfPractice · 15/05/2023 19:04

A splendid chat with my DD1 who really made me laugh this evening.

I went to see the old lady I've adopted this morning. She's 93 and she called me sweetheart.

ToHellBackAndBeyond · 15/05/2023 19:07

The people who said they would be round to collect something from the house actually came and collected. That made me happy.

I finally weight less than my DH!

Got on scales and was a stone lighter than last time. So surprised and chuffed that I repeated it three times to check. After many years of food addiction I’ve finally found a way through and am so proud of myself. Lost 4 stone so far and several of those while on hospital after being hit by a car.

Inthebathagain · 15/05/2023 19:15

Seeing a colleague's success at work.

Person who instigated it thought it was rubbish, and cried when I gave her such positive feedback, as she really wasn't expecting me to be impressed.

LindorDoubleChoc · 15/05/2023 19:20

DS (feeling bad about broken relationship) was more cheerful than I've seen him in about a week.

Filled in and submitted an online form with various attachments that I've been putting off since 29th April.

Got an invite for coffee later in the week, invite for a birthday in June, invite for dinner at the end of the month.

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 15/05/2023 19:22

My bunnies - it’s quite windy & they tend to get frisky. Two of them have just been bombing round the garden. So fast, they were a brown blur & a white blur! I also love when they do “binkies “. The other day, my oldest rabbit leapt so high I couldn’t believe it! It was like he was on springs!

WhatWouldHopperDo · 15/05/2023 19:36

My DH has resigned today from a job that is making him miserable. He looked like a new man when he got home. I’m so happy for him (and for me as he’s been so preoccupied for so long).

thistimelastweek · 15/05/2023 19:39

Leftover dinner.

No effort food at no extra cost.

I apologised to my class for not being my usual self, full of cold and feeling dreadful. I got told I was still lovely. Then one child offered to have my cold. Not sure how that would work but it was kind.

BanditsOnTheHorizon · 15/05/2023 19:51

I had to go into the office today, which I don't like, but it was nice and quite and I love my car, I got to spend 3 hours of work time, driving and singing my heart out Grin

Howareu · 15/05/2023 19:54

My dd1 video called me to say she’d felt her baby kick for the first time :)
