What has made you happy today?

Today I took DD2 for a walk around out local NT. She fell asleep in the pram and I sat on the deckchair in the sun for an hour reading a book. NT was quiet so I had the sounds of the birds, gorgeous views and in-between reading did a spot of people watching. On the walk back to the car I realised how happy this made me feel and that I can't remember the last time I had felt so relaxed.

So, what have you done today that's made you feel happy??

I was able to buy something for DD that she needs but can’t afford. Just like that. She wasn’t expecting it at all. Felt lovely,

Bought 2 fans from a charity shop for £5 each - feeling pleased that I am hopefully getting ahead in case we have a nice Summer.

I apologised to my class for not being my usual self, full of cold and feeling dreadful. I got told I was still lovely. Then one child offered to have my cold. Not sure how that would work but it was kind.

That is so sweet. What lovely children 😍

Walking through the local park this morning on my way to get a coffee - sun shining, birds singing, it was lovely.

My Reformer Pilates class at lunchtime - I always walk out of there feeling amazing, like I'm superwoman or something (although sometimes I limp out as my muscles are sore).

Visiting my mum this evening - she was in a great mood and we had a laugh together for the first time in ages.

I took HRT pill number 1. I'm on the road to a better life!

Met my sister for a coffee. She lives quite a long way away and haven't seen her for months.

I did a lot of garden tidying and planting at the weekend, and each time I've walked through it has really lifted my spirits.

Silkierabbit · 15/05/2023 20:01

SarahSmith2023 I didn't get a photo of Floof in his meerkat position but it's like this but vertical with completely straight back and he's about 1.1 metres tall.

What has made you happy today?

Seeing the flowers I've planted coming into bloom. I'm not great at gardening but wanted something to make me smile when working from home. I've got a beautiful peach climbing rose, azaleas & two peony bushes about to burst with blooms. I'm really pleased & a tiny bit proud of myself.

Teenage DS called 999 as on his walk home from school down a back lane he saw smoke billowing out of someone's out house. He then knocked on the door and the neighbours doors to alert the residents. He said while he was walking towards it 2 adults walked passed, took a photo on their phone then carried on walking. Didn't stop to call 999 or see if anyone needed help. This made me happy as teen DS can be a selfish so and so at times as most teenagers are but at least I know there is a good human in there.

I love that @Hellocatshome. Most of our teens are brilliant and don't get nearly enough credit for it.

My two clematis that I'd given up on are growing!

CharlottenBerg · 15/05/2023 20:08

Having a nice time with my lovely partner of 30 years.

Took the afternoon off to have a catchup with my lovely sisters. Chatting, cackling and putting the world to rights. We often revert to our teen selves when together so I arrived home feeling that much younger and lighter of spirit.

My dog successfully navigating some new moves confidently at agility.

He sometimes gets overwhelmed at training and freezes.

Today he did so well and everyone commented how much calmer and more confident he seemed.

It’s £20 for about 4-6 minutes of actual training time in the ring, so it’s good when it goes well.

Shannith · 15/05/2023 20:16

Washed the pony so he looked beautiful and clean. He'll be filthy again by tomorrow but for an hour he looked lovely.

Throwncrumbs · 15/05/2023 20:30

After moaning about my husband on here , he came home from work early and made lunch 😃

Myn · 15/05/2023 20:35

My little girl looked at me and called me mama :-)

Maryandherlamb · 15/05/2023 20:38

My little boy hugged me and said "I love you mummy" after I got him out of the bath. It's so so rare that he says it without me saying it first so it made me very happy.

AuraBora · 15/05/2023 20:42

My one year old fell asleep on me whilst I was on the sofa in the sunshine. I listened to the birds in the garden whilst stroking his beautiful silky hair.
I can't remember the last time he slept on me, it was really lovely. When he woke up his cheeks were pink and he was really happy 😊

Wiccan · 15/05/2023 20:43

Spent the day in the garden with my gorgeous husband before he goes back to work , watched our little dog playing , she always makes my heart melt .

Mariposista · 15/05/2023 20:46

I plucked up the courage to go to a bereavement group. Was so so nervous, but so glad I did.

PauseTheRain · 15/05/2023 20:48

Seeing my dad. I rarely see him without his partner. He only popped in for about half an hour, but it was lovely for us and the kids to just relax, chat and 'be'. His partner won't really let us talk to him when she's with him. It's exhausting.

dudsville · 15/05/2023 20:51

I've been a little low so i finished work at 4, took a back, put on pjs and took a nap! I'm feeling better for it!

I was literally about to start a thread like this!

I'm currently waiting for my breast clinic appointment on Monday so ive been feeling a bit frightened and fragile. But ive just got in bed with a cup of tea plus I sneaked a slice of homemade bake well tart with it and realized, it's the little things in life that make me happy.

I want more of these little moments
