Good evening all! Anyone fancy a drunk thread?

I've just got back from a night out at a local venue with OH I thought we were going out out after being out but we came home cos he has to be somewhere early, he is in bed, I am still drinking

I've just started my last glass. I swear as I get older, bottles of wine seem to vanish a lot faster. 😭

We've had enough excitement with LineRunner being taken up The Range.

Sounds like it's been a nice night despite your DS leaving soon. I hope he'll have space for you to visit for some London trips at some point though.

I'm in Scotland as well, my eldest is 19 and still lives at home. DH jokes about her getting her own place but I have to admit I'm not looking forward to that day.

Mine has evaporated somehow 🙄

On the vodka tonight. I'm a lightweight in my old age, and know where to stop with wine, but vodka needs mixing, so not a scooby how much I've had.

Not enough. But also, probably too much.

@flatpack1 - seems to be the same here. I think they've secretly shrunk the bottles but kept the same measurements on them so we don't complain.

DD has managed to burn her toe on the for pit and is now being a complete drama llama lol.

I’m a bit late for this, and I’ve started on the drink induced snacking. DH has gone to bed on a huff as I laughed (drunkenly) at his loud crunching of said snacks. I’m a bellend but I don’t actually care 😀

Went to the pub tonight for the 2nd time this year in an effort to expand my social circle beyond my dog.

After 3 pints I was contemplating the walk back up the hill when the barmaid said she'd poured a pint of Guiness in error and its mine if I want it....

It's not sitting well on top of 3 pints of IPA.

Maybe a shot or two of whisky will settle things down

I don't think my DD will move out any time soon, when she's sitting up until 3am screeching at friends while online gaming I know I wouldn't miss that, but she helps out a lot around the house (I have fibro and her 15yo sibling has ASD and bad anxiety so she's a good help if I need to go out or even just to help walk our 3 dogs if I'm having a bad pain day). But I also know she's 19 now and she can't be here forever either. At the moment she's just working a part time job in a local shop after dropping out of college (twice) but I was like that at her age and ended up sorting things out and moving out when I was 22 so we might not have long if she takes after me.

You might regret it now but I love getting extra drinks like that. DH, my friend and I were out after footy last weekend and ended up in a bar who were testing out new flavoured gin cocktails, the place was dead so we ended up being their testers. We don't remember too much after that. 🤣

And the weekend before that I was out with DH and the bar staff accidentally gave us someone's food bill, it was for the table behind us and it was no big deal but the staff member felt awful and decided to give us a couple of shots on the house. Except she decided to give them to me after DH left to make a shop before it closed and I was just finishing up my drink to follow him. So I got both shots.

I've been lucky with that recently. 😁

It’s the espresso martini version. Very nice with lots of ice, but I’m drinking it like milkshake and am really going to regret this tomorrow. Never mind, I’ve got nothing important on, and will probably just hang around looking like death and groaning, so I don’t care.

Because she’s an arse! Honestly, who puts their bare feet (in Scotland, in early May, at night) on a lit fire pit???? Or indeed at any time.

Are we the only ones still up @Tarkan? You sounded like you were being quite restrained, and I can’t imagine getting through Eurovision tomorrow without more alcohol. I fear it’s not the baileys stuff that will do the worst damage, but the mix between that and the several glasses of Malbec that I had earlier in the evening. Tomorrow morning I will swear I will never drink again, but by six o’clock I may feel differently.

That's me off to bed then, if I can be arsed. It's a long way upstairs.

To be fair that sounds like the sort of stupid injury I would give myself too. I'm very accident prone and a lot of it is really stupid stuff.

As for DD yeah you're right, I know she will. I know it bugs DH but I've told him to be patient with her. He left school at 17 to join the RAF and knew what he wanted to do from a young age but he's learning that not everyone is like that. She went and found this job all by herself and she's working hard at it, including some very early starts that I would definitely struggle with myself.

I wish we had a fire pit! I feel quite mellow just now, and want to be sitting, wrapped up in cosy throws, looking at the stars and thinking deep, profound thoughts. And keeping my toes well away from the hot bits.

I'm often last woman standing but I'm afraid that's me out for the night now. The wine has vanished and I'm crashing so off to bed with me.

Hope anyone still up has a great rest of the night.

I might just relent for Eurovision tomorrow tbh, but I just can't go crazy. 😁
