Anyone else disappointed with Vinted?

I've so far "bought" 7 items from Vinted. 4 of which have since been refunded because they've never been posted. One of them, that had been listed for 4 months, was refunded because her printer was broken. But re-listed straight away. That one, I got a friend to buy for me, and that sale was cancelled too. Why bother to offer stuff for sale if you don't actually want to part with it?

I've sold several things but unable to send them because I can't login.

There is no help or customer service at all. Twitter is not manned and you can only raise a ticket for help if you are already logged in, which I can't do.

It's totally shit and I've given up.

AllOrNothingSituation · 08/05/2023 15:59

Yes I’ve had this as well, see something that’s been listed for a while so always message the seller to double check it’s available they say yes, buy it and they never send it. Happens all the time

ChristmasKoala · 08/05/2023 16:06

Yes, I bought a bag, it hadn't been posted after 7 working days (Vinted's policy is 5 working days). Seller ignoring messages. Vinted refused to refund as they "have to work on the assumption that the seller has posted it and not updated the tracking". They advised that I could cancel the sale if the seller agreed, I did this and was then automatically given negative feedback by Vinted!

PinkFootstool · 08/05/2023 16:08

I think I've been lucky - I've bought cheap jeans through to an expensive ballgown and not had any issues at all. Only one frock was slow to arrive, but I missed that it was coming from Belfast 😂

daffodilandtulip · 08/05/2023 16:09

I had one cancel because she couldn't find anywhere to post it Hmm but then she immediately relisted it. I've had two go missing after being posted, so not their fault.
On the whole I've had a positive experience though, selling and buying multiple items.

shakeitoffsis · 08/05/2023 16:09

I think you've been unlucky. Iv got nearly 100 5 star reviews and always post our within 3 days max. Whenever Iv bought something it's been delivered super quick too.

Crunchymum · 08/05/2023 16:13

So far so good as both a buyer and seller.

Had to start selling to fund my buying habit. I've also managed to resell a few bits I've bought that haven fitted.

bideyinn · 08/05/2023 16:23

I've only just started using it and it's not been too bad so far. I've got good reviews but buyers are very slow to confirm they are happy with an item and release the money.

martha4clark · 08/05/2023 16:29

Yes I've been on Vinted for quite a few months and have noticed very few buyers now do a quick confirmation and release the money. It's very frustrating. I don't tend to leave them a review.

SisterSister23 · 08/05/2023 16:37

I LOVED it at first as a seller. People were buying something every day. Even buying multiple items at a time. Made a decent amount of money. Lots of good reviews.
Then pretty much overnight views and sales stopped.
Not had anything in weeks now except fake accounts wanting to buy.
I think the algorithm gets you to like it at the beginning then stops showing your items so you pay for bumps or highlighting your wardrobe. It's rubbish now.

RedRedRobinGoesBobBobBobbing · 08/05/2023 16:42

I was just about to start a Vinted thread.

The haggling drives me nuts - I’m open to offers but people send ridiculous prices. The most expensive thing I’ve got on my page is £15 - most things are under £10 (and all worn once or new without tags) and still you get offers of £2.50.

I know it’s the way Vinted is but I’m not driving to post it for £2.50!

Also the people who send 400 questions and then send an offer which I accept and they just disappear. Drives me MAD!!

minidancer · 08/05/2023 16:42

I love it, I have over 100 reviews and really only a couple of problems. Yodel saying they'd delivered when they hadn't (it turned up 2 days later) and one item I received wasn't as described but I got a refund.

minidancer · 08/05/2023 16:43

I won't sell for less than £5..... not worth the time, packaging and petrol

river2 · 08/05/2023 16:45

see, I didn't realise you could haggle
over prices. I think I could've got some discount off (overpriced) stuff I've bought. Shame!

SootspriteSearcher · 08/05/2023 16:48

I check reviews of everything I buy. If the seller has no reviews I don't buy and if the only postage option is royal mail I avoid too. There's a lot of scammers on there, I almost lost over £100 to a nintendo switch scam, but I was persistent and managed to get my money back but looking online I was very lucky. If its too good to be true, it often is.

I sell pretty frequently, ive made really good money and aim to drop off within 2 days but with bank Holidays and work some have been closer to 5/6 days. Still have 5 * ratings though!

Vinorosso74 · 08/05/2023 16:49

I'm trying to sell stuff and it's just not shifting. People are favouriting items so they are being seen. I have reduced things too, everything is £2-£5! I did sell one item and it took the buyer ages to confirm they'd received it. Could do with the money but would quite like the things out the house!

This is my approach too! Plus the man at the Yodel drop off is my arch nemesis, so if I’m dealing with him it’s got to be worth at least £5!

AreMyDucksinarow · 08/05/2023 17:25

At first I loved it - now I’m not all that interested

Sellers taking too long to post, I really don’t want to wait 7 days for you to post something!! Things going missing in the post, vinted customer services are non existent when parcels have been lost and I’ve ended up having to wait nearly a month for a refund.

yeah definitely lost the love

eyesfullofstars · 08/05/2023 18:37

I’ve been lucky with it so far. There were some long delays in getting items when Royal Mail were striking but that wasn’t the fault of the sellers. They’ve all been quick to post things out. I’ve had no issues with buyers confirming they’ve received things I’ve sent either. I’m hoping it stays that way for me!

daffodilandtulip · 09/05/2023 07:22

Haha @RedRedRobinGoesBobBobBobbing my issue is the Evri drop off. It's a really busy shop and he makes you wait to the side until he's dealt with all the "real customers" 🤣

KCIII · 09/05/2023 07:23

Not had any issues. Look at seller reviews before buying and if listed for ages send a message. I’ve always received it. Once received something with a mark which I returned without any issue. 🤷‍♀️

I just delete and relist stuff so it's easier for it to be seen

r0ck · 09/05/2023 07:35

I’ve found it hit and miss with items not being as described which puts me off buying. My most recent I sent back as they were not the size described and the seller says she hasn’t received it despite item tracking showing it’s delivered. It’s now in dispute with Vinted and they haven’t replied so I’m down on what I paid plus return postage and I can’t find a way to contact their customer services. Not sure I’d use it again after this!

Brefugee · 09/05/2023 07:36

tried it once (my DDs use it a lot both as buyer and seller, up to now with no issues). First thing i bought? scam. Vinted don't care.

Beezknees · 09/05/2023 07:46

I use it loads but mainly as a seller. All my reviews are 5 star and I'm really prompt with posting. Everything has arrived fine.
