MegCleary · 06/05/2023 08:43

Flicking between bbc itv and sky

NetZeroZealot · 06/05/2023 08:43

I want to see the arrivals at the abbey but bloody BBC is showing boring interviews with irrelevant people. Anyone found a different stream to watch which shows this?

Casuaala · 06/05/2023 08:44

Where are you watching? I'm on BBC. I looked at a schedule earlier and I think VIPs start arriving shortly.

Me! I’ve got BBC1 with Naga (earlier) and Kirsty (now) on my phone, and the iPlayer no commentary version on the iPad. I’m pottering today, tidying, light housework type things, so I’ll be carrying them with me when I move from room to room.

I’ll be honest, I’ve surprised myself with how interested I am 😁.

NetZeroZealot · 06/05/2023 08:45

According to radio 4 some VIPs already arrived.

Casuaala · 06/05/2023 08:45
  • 6am: Public viewing areas will open along the main procession route.
  • 7:15am: Westminster Abbey guests will begin to arrive for extensive security checks.
  • 7:30am: Live TV coverage will begin as royal officials complete the set up for the huge day ahead. Interviews will also air.
  • 9:30am: Important coronation guests are expected to arrive including members of the royal family, heads of state and former prime ministers.
  • 10:20am: The royal procession from Buckingham Palace will begin. Charles and Camilla will travel on the Diamond Jubilee Coach - a nod to the late Queen Elizabeth II - leaving the Central Arch. The procession will pass many famous London landmarks en route to Westminster Abbey.
  • 11:00am: The coronation ceremony, which will be attended by 2,000 guests, will begin.
  • 1:00pm: The coronation is reported to last around two hours (Queen Elizabeth's last three hours) and the second procession will take place back to Buckingham Palace. This will be on a much larger scale than the route there.
  • 1:45pm: The Royal Salute will take place.
  • 2:15: Fifteen royal family members, expected to include Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children, will take their positions on the Buckingham Palace balcony. Here they will wave at crowds and watch the historic flypast, weather permitting.

I think people have been told to be seated by 9.

Casuaala · 06/05/2023 08:46

I've got the interviews too (actors on Charles' contribution to theatre). Does anyone have a better recommendation?

ITV showing inside the abbey

Casuaala · 06/05/2023 08:47

(Sorry, I meant to acknowledge that that schedule was from LBC).

I'm going to be dipping in / out . I enjoy the pomp of the royal ceremonies / royal weddings etc but the whole interviewing of people / filling up of venue and televised mentioning of ' Oh here is Lord Hooha with Lady Nobody being walked to aisle 75 waving to the prime minister " bores me.

ChangedForEmbarrassingQuestions · 06/05/2023 08:48

BBC pointed out a few, I saw Judi Dench.

Casuaala · 06/05/2023 08:48

That sums it up for me too @RuthTopp

Thanks for the ITV recommendation. Stephen Fry looks dapper but he's put a bit of weight on.

One got snacks ready ...

Sunseeker100 · 06/05/2023 08:52

ITV seem to be showing arrivals and outfits. I do think it's a bit rude to turn up in a massive hat when you're going to be sat in a packed venue all on one level.
