Phone you can hold in one (small) hand - any still out there?

Recommendations please! Does anyone still have a phone they can hold in only one small perfectly normal sized female hand? Didn’t think it was such a big ask, but everything seems to be basically tablet sized now. Except the iPhone minis. If you do have an iPhone mini, is it worth the price and are they still super breakable?

I don’t take many photos and I listen to music but don’t really watch videos. Ideally, I’d like something cheap I can shove in my bag or drop without feeling guilty, and that will fit in the pocket of my jeans.

Any suggestions? What do you have? Would you like to have a bit of a rant about the male dominated tech industry?

I have the iphone se 2022. Before that I had the 2020 version. Before that the iphone 5. After the 6 they got too big so I was happy when the se was introduced.
There’s some smaller android phones but I don’t get on with android so couldn’t advise on those 🙂

Another vote for the iphone5. I’m still using mine because I like a small phone too. You should be able to find reconditioned ones on eBay

SpikeWithoutASoul · 05/05/2023 21:34

Holding my iPhone 13 mini in one hand right now.

Hedonism · 05/05/2023 21:35

That's my main criteria for choosing a phone too. I've got a Google pixel 4 at the mo, which I really like but is about 18 months old so probably obsolete by now 🤦🏼‍♀️

BrennieGirl · 05/05/2023 21:35

You could get one of those round popper things. They make holding your phone much easier.

GayPareeee · 05/05/2023 21:35

I've got a 13 mini after having an SE2020, and it's fine. Dropped it several times and it's survived. Battery isn't totally amazing but it's better than the SE one, and the rest of the phone makes up for it.

Hate big phones, gutted if Apple stop making small ones

CornedBeef451 · 05/05/2023 21:38

I think mine is an iPhone 7 and it's the size of an SE and fits my small hands.

I have it in a clear all covering case with rubber edges as I drop it A LOT which makes it a lot bulkier but so far it has survived.

Hand size is so weird. DS is 11 and his hands are already much bigger than mine and DH doesn't have big hands by any means but his favourite globe wine glass is too big for me to pick up one handed, I have to two hand it like a goblet. Maybe I'm meant to hold it by the stem but again, I'm clumsy.

Cubot pocket! It's dinky 4" smartphone it's fab, new so up to date, I love mine (around £100ish)

coffeeiswgatkeepsmesane · 05/05/2023 21:41

I've got the iPhone 12 mini for this exact reason!

Holding my iPhone 13 mini in one hand right now.

Pretty much literally what I was about to say. I only upgraded from my SE because they do a mini.

Beautyhoard · 05/05/2023 21:42

I have an iPhone 14pro and hold it in one hand?

NamingNames · 05/05/2023 21:43

I've got an iPhone SE (1st gen) which is on its last legs, and have been debating whether to get a iPhone 13 mini or a 3rd generation SE (still sold on Apple website, don't know if you can get them on contracts or not). Size-wise I prefer the SE, but the 13 mini does have some features I'd rather have. DH has a 13 mini as he thinks the giant phones are ridiculous, and although it's still larger than I would like, it is an ok size

I've just switched from the SE to the 13 mini and there's pretty much nothing in it size-wise.

I've got iPhone 12 mini because I can use it one handed, it's got a better camera than the SE but otherwise pretty much the same.

A PopSocket. Absolute godsend for one handed scrolling

juldan · 05/05/2023 22:48

I still love my iPhone SE 2020, upgraded from iPhone 5s as found the screen too small after my eyesight deteriorated. Still have 5s and use it occasionally abroad with a local sim. Hope that SE will last as long.

Foobs · 05/05/2023 22:52

I've just got a Samsung s22 (not the plus or ultra) and it's lovely and slim!

Elvira2000 · 05/05/2023 22:52

I miss my Samsung S4 mini. Loved that tiny phone. I have a Samsung now...sorry can't remember what type it is (no help). But I love a small phone and spend loads of time researching which to buy - based on size.

TokyoSushi · 05/05/2023 22:57

I have an iPhone 13 mini, exact same reason, wanted to easily hold it in one hand, had it about a year, love it and still in perfect condition. I don't take particular care of it so it must be pretty durable!

dragonwithwings · 05/05/2023 23:02

I've had an old SE since 2017 and one reason for not replacing it is that every other iPhone seems so much bigger.

whatsinanameeh · 05/05/2023 23:04

I had an iPhone se which was the perfect size so I got the iPhone se again in 2020, I hope they just keep bringing our new versions of this one

CornishGem1975 · 05/05/2023 23:04

iPhone Mini 13 can easily be held in one hand

I have (and really rate) a Jelly 2, very similar. Glad to hear there's more like this.

humblemeep · 05/05/2023 23:23

I have an iPhone 13 mini and got it for the same reason! I also have a pop socket attached to the case as I find it easier to hold then. Absolutely love it, charges quickly, great photos. I'm really hoping Apple don't stop making minis.

ThePoshUns · 05/05/2023 23:25

Another vote for an iPhone mini.
