Phone you can hold in one (small) hand - any still out there?

Recommendations please! Does anyone still have a phone they can hold in only one small perfectly normal sized female hand? Didn’t think it was such a big ask, but everything seems to be basically tablet sized now. Except the iPhone minis. If you do have an iPhone mini, is it worth the price and are they still super breakable?

I don’t take many photos and I listen to music but don’t really watch videos. Ideally, I’d like something cheap I can shove in my bag or drop without feeling guilty, and that will fit in the pocket of my jeans.

Any suggestions? What do you have? Would you like to have a bit of a rant about the male dominated tech industry?

Iphone 13 mini here too, I love it! Have a clear protective case and it's absolutely fine.
I have v little hands and can handle it easily in one of them.

Samsung Z flip 3

Expensive but worth it. I adore mine. Spent over 2 years researching, waiting, buying, returning on repeat until I found this

Lots of food for thought here - thank you all very much!

I have an iPhone 13 mini precisely so I can stick it in my pocket or a very small bag. I find the Apple silicon cases give really good grip when using one handed, but they don’t last forever.

Rainbowshit · 06/05/2023 12:58

I have an iPhone 12 mini precisely because I can use it one handed. It's been through the washing machine and stopped several times and still works perfectly.

Bramshott · 06/05/2023 13:09

I have a Samsung A40 but it's a couple of years old. I'll have the same problem when it comes to needing to replace it.

stbrandonsboat · 06/05/2023 13:30

I have a Google Pixel 6a if you want something smaller that's cheaper than an iPhone. It's adequate. Not a patch on Samsung though.

piedbeauty · 06/05/2023 13:31

My iPhone 7.

Another 12 mini owner. Seems rugged enough, I have it in a case though. Very happy with it after having it about 14 months.

iPhone 13 mini here, bought for the exact same reason. It’s physically of good quality. The problem is that after years of Samsung phones, I fucking hate iOS and think it’s a frankly shitty operating system. Honestly it drives me up the wall with all the things it can’t do.

I’m still really angry with Samsung, Google Pixel and basically all Android phone manufacturers for ignoring women even though we’ve been requesting a mini Android phone for ages now. It’s sexism though and through, and it’s not fair that the iPhones are more expensive when they’re the only option left. But hey, at least my hand doesn’t hurt. Samsung are losing female customers and they have brought this on themselves.

I have the Samsung S23 and it's a perfect size

tectonicplates · 06/05/2023 19:32

The S23 is way too big for me.

Pixel 4 & 5, Asus ZenFone 8 & 9

I went from a very old iphone 5s to a iphone 13 mini last year - it is a great size, not much bigger then the iphone 5s but without the home button a much bigger screen.

Dh, ds and I have never had problems with any of our iphones breaking.

BearSoFair · 06/05/2023 20:30

I have a refurbished iPhone 11 Pro, fine for my hand and it being a bit older wasn't a problem for what I use it for vs the amount I was saving!

stbrandonsboat · 06/05/2023 20:55

People shouldn't have to go over to iPhone just so they can get a smaller phone. I went over to Samsung from iPhone due to the cost of iPhones. I agree that IOS is a crap OS and Samsungs are much better phones.

I really hate this pixel 😠 I suppose at least I don't have a painful hand anymore though.

cardboardbox24 · 06/05/2023 21:01

I have the Google pixel 4. It's nice and small but the battery life is crap compared to my last phone.

Gymmum82 · 06/05/2023 21:04

Iphone SE

SunsetInToulouse · 07/05/2023 11:02

I struggled with this last year, didn't want an iPhone, ended up with an Asus ZenFone. Most of the time I manage to use it in one hand, although it's quicker to type messages with two!

Mustardandchickensandwiches · 07/05/2023 11:05

Check out alcatel op

Ariela · 07/05/2023 11:11

Galaxy S23 is not too big. I buy a decent screensaver.

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 07/05/2023 11:26

I've still got my terrible battery s9 on the go because I have been waiting for a small android.
S23 seems to be ok - I just need to wait for it to come down a bit vefore I buy now.
