I would not let them in!

5 years ago we had viewers to our house which was for sale. A retired couple arrived with a clip board held out in front of the man. They came in and were a nightmare. Opening my windows, wardrobes, kitchen draws, running taps, jumping up and down on my floor, taking photos, flushing toilets, and much much more! After 3 hours I had had enough and said we were going out so they would have to leave.
We never heard from them again but the owner of the house we eventually bought said she had had them view hers and they had stayed 6 hours doing the same things.

I later found out they are serial house viewers and do it as a "nice day out".
Anyway we are now moving again and low and behold who turns up at the door, only Mr and Mrs pain in the arse. I did not remember their name or I would have refused a viewing. Same as last time clip board and pen ready.

The moment I opened the door I recognized them.

I was so angry with these time wasters I just said "YOU AGAIN! FUCK OFF! and closed the door.
I feel better now.

Sometimes only Fuck Off will do!
Ds told dcat to Fuck Off last night as his meowing was very extreme.
I did tell ds not too sure dcat understood..

I wouldn't be too sure. Both my DDogs know what it means! Grin

Ooh I had a childhood friend whose parents did this. It was because they liked to go round enormous houses and make themselves feel rich and important. They were actually lovely people but had no concept of what time wasters they were being to others. I always thought it was a weird thing to do but I'm not surprised there's more of them out there (unless their initials are L and M, in which case it might just be one couple going round all over!).

Well done on getting rid of then so swiftly and hilariously!

LakeTiticaca · 05/05/2023 12:55

@snowandshowers apparently there are people who do this as a hobby. I read a magazine article about it years ago.
The demographic seemed to be mostly middle aged or retired couples/nosy bastards who have nothing better to do 🤣

Also I can relate to the noisy cat thing, your son was right there 🤣

The Estate Agent has just phoned me to say they told her I would not let them in. When I relayed the story she was crying laughing and will let other estate agents know that Bonnie and Clyde are back on the scene.

Woohoo, cool story, you go girl 👏

GCAcademic · 05/05/2023 13:03

I don't understand how they have been able to keep doing this for so long? Surely estate agents would be wise to them by now and refuse to arrange viewings for them?

ThreeRingCircus · 05/05/2023 13:03

The absolute cheek of some people. I'm so glad you told them to fuck off, it's exactly what they deserve. Nosy idiots .

I'm surprised it's not more common TBH. Free entertainment that gets you out of the house and to benefit from someone else's heating and all that.

Maybe the internet has reduced the prevalence as they're now able to do it online as much as they like without having to have the balls to put on a pretence as a legitimate buyer for the estate agents?

Yes I really did, then went inside and my husband and I were in hysterics.😂

I burst out laughing when I read @snowandshowers post. 😂

3 hours and 6 hours?

No way.

LadyRoughDiamond · 05/05/2023 13:08

Make sure you make a note of their name this time - you just know they’ll turn up in 10 years still doing the same thing!

Your house is one they've had a nose around before you bought it, so why on earth are they going back? Maybe they want to see what you've done with that awkward space under the stairs.

Topseyt123 · 05/05/2023 13:14

Well done you! 😃 I think you gave the cheeky fuckers exactly what they so richly deserved. 🤣🤣

Hotfootgoose · 05/05/2023 13:15

Hilarious and justified. These people are a nuisance for real buyers and sellers who are finding the marker tough at the moment

There is no rhyme or reason, its just anything for sale but it seems to be in a certain price bracket. Different estate agent to who sold it to us so maybe they thought it no one would know.

I keep remembering their faces and giggling. I did not think about them not remembering me and the seller just opens the door and shouts "YOU AGAIN, FUCK OFF!" I would love to have been a fly on the wall of their car when they left.

I was laughing at your original post but this is the one that made snort 😂😂

Thank you for sharing, and hope you manage to sell your property soon.

They probably don't remember who you are. From their point of view some random house seller screamed at them and slammed the door in their faces.

Which makes it all the funnier to me.

I have an unfortunate sense of humour.

I'm sitting in the middle of Costa, and am now in full-blown shoulder-shaking hysterics at this!! So funny!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
