London trip - should I stay in Feltham?

Hi everyone,

I have a 3 week visit to London for work coming up. I've been looking around at places to stay and London accommodation is expensive or fully booked.

I found a place in North Feltham - good transport links, about 10-15 min walk from Feltham station, self-catering, etc.

I know nothing about this area and when I look it up, various threads say it isn't very nice.

Would it be safe to stay around North Feltham? I won't have a car, so it will be trains back and forth to London every other day.

Thanks in advance

@Collie86 there are several events on a Twickenham Stadium around that time, which will influence the price of hotels in surrounding areas.

Thanks everyone. These replies have been helpful. The place in Walton is looking likely at this point. It's clean, has an en-suite. The exact dates I wanted aren't available, but it's close enough. I'm also looking up places suggested in the posts too for comparison. I know my budget is low, but not much I can do considering other expenses I have to factor in. Thank you to the poster who mentioned the train travel costs, very helpful to note.

Feltham’s very handy for the Young Offenders Institute…

Similarly to many big cities which are ‘handy’ for a prison or other provision along those lines. The YOI is a secure setting, the kids are hardly loose about the streets of Feltham. Honestly.
