We showed our DC Mind Your Language when they were 14/16, as an example of what was on tv when we were younger. They were horrified.

She sounds smart. He was never funny.

One of my favourite clips ever is the Jack Whitehall VS Mr Blobby 😂

Mr Blobby will always be funny.

IHeartGeneHunt · 01/05/2023 11:41

I love Mr Blobby.

AndrexPuppy · 01/05/2023 11:42

Mine is in her 20’s and is terrified of Mr Blobby. Kids today, eh?

Rinkydinkydoodle · 01/05/2023 11:44

My DH (nearly fifty) still finds Mr Blobby hilarious, tbf our kids were equal parts entertained by their dad’s reaction/bewildered by the Blobby. Think we maybe come from simpler times 😂

ComputerInitiateJump · 01/05/2023 11:45

We went to blobby land when dd was small and she screamed when he came out. We had to leave.

I think that’s the thing. We were entertained by Mr Blobby, Rosie and Jim, and stuff like that.

Kids these days are entertained by things much more elaborate.

My one win, was both of my dc loved the original wiggles. They used to really enjoy watching them as toddlers. Thankfully by the time they changed the cast, my dc were too old

Wasn't he in that Noel Edmonds effort on a Saturday evening, filmed in a fictitious place called Wrinkly Arsehole or something similar.

Soubriquet · 01/05/2023 11:53

Wasn’t it Noel Edmonds Saturday Night…something or other. Can’t remember..

Noel Edmonds House Party!

Yep, that was it and a quick Google has told me the fictitious place was Crinkley Bottom, still I was close enough.

Mine still don't believe Alf Garnett was primetime Sunday evening on BBC1. And the Black and White Minstrels.

I know of a couple who had no kiddies when to blobby land 🤷🏻‍♀️ , us on the other hand had children of the right age never went .

Rinkydinkydoodle · 01/05/2023 11:58

this’ll blow their minds. Starting to think a lot of kids’ programming may have been the work of people who had chemical assistance 😂

Pob's Program with Dick King-Smith. Episode 4.

In this clip Dick and Hattie the Black Labrador follow a nature trail based on clues that Pob has given him:If in my program you would be,Wind the wool and f...

That would never make it on TV these days, the country would have a meltdown if it did. It was bloody funny though.

Mostar · 01/05/2023 12:03

What was the point of Mr Blobby? It's like the UK had a big collective brainfart and thought hey, THIS IS FUNNY!!!

Seriously, if someone had uninvented the TV at that point I'd have been okay with it.

Florenz · 01/05/2023 12:03

Mr Blobby was funny when he was on Noel Edmonds causing chaos. When they did the song and tried to make him into a character in his own right, it wasn't funny anymore.

Imagine if they showed Love Thy Neighbour then!

The Emergency Alerts would be going crazy on peoples phones!!

Aww my son loved Mr Blobby when he was a toddler. I even bought him the single 😶

Strangely I was sorting out Dd's (12 y) baby things from the loft and found one of my son's Mr Bobby dolls, that DD had, but ignored.

DS is 31 now.

Very loved Mr Bobby's doll, but I will be keeping him.

Player456 · 01/05/2023 12:14

When I uploaded that photo, there was a warning saying "sensitive image", not sure why 🤔

UrsulaBelle · 01/05/2023 12:19

Mr Blobby was never funny. Just cringy.
