As per the title, after discovering the joys of using the air fryer to create perfect jacket spuds! I’m after you favourite toppings for inspiration

my favourite at the mo isn’t particularly exciting but tuna, red onion, sweetcorn and Mayo mixed together with grated cheese on top 😋

Chilli con carne
Cheese & beans
Tuna Mayo

Love a crispy fluffy jacket tato, obviously lashings of butter salt and pepper on the actual potato. I know what I'm having for dinner tomorrow!

My gran had a jacket potato for SUPPER (after having had dinner/tea) nearly every day and had mostly just butter and occasionally butter and cheese and she lived until 90 years old. Have a little of what you fancy was her motto!

big dollop of pate and fresh chillis, jalapeños, then big shot of lime juice. heaven

I think that the beauty of the jacket potato is its simplicity. I find anything that has a strong flavour overpowers the potato. An oven baked jacket potato with too much butter, too much salt and pepper and too much cheese is heavenly. Ideally sitting on a bed of lettuce with some dressing on Nothing else needed IMO - reading back I realise I have added quite a lot to the 'simplicity' of the jacket potato

pastabest · 23/04/2023 23:01

Well it's got to be cooked, scooped out, fried lardons and cheese added and then plopped back in the jacket and back in the oven for another 15 mins

Food of the gods.

Cream cheese, red onion and crispy bacon with a bit of maple syrup!

This

Nat6999 · 23/04/2023 23:39

Coleslaw

universityhelp · 23/04/2023 23:41

Sorry boring but either tuna mayo and grated cheddar or
longley farm cottage cheese with pinnapple and grated cheddar
both with plenty of butter

Thelastofbus · 23/04/2023 23:44

For a regular jacket you can’t beat cheese coleslaw and beans !

but I do love chilli on a baked sweet potato

MrsBungle · 23/04/2023 23:47

I love grated cheese and spring onion mixed with mayo. Also love Brie with prawn cocktail. I’m starving now.

OhFFSthisAgain · 23/04/2023 23:51

Butter,, Chicken and sweetcorn in mayo.

Missikat13 · 23/04/2023 23:53

It has to be tuna mayo, garlic butter, beans and cheese. Sounds a weird combo but is bloody delicious! Alternatively chilli and cheese or tuna, cheese and coleslaw. I also love one with chilli, garlic butter and cottage cheese. I love jacket potatoes!!

seekingasimplelife · 23/04/2023 23:55

Salt and vinegar (I like simple food 😃).

Serenity45 · 24/04/2023 00:10

Tuna, red onion, cheese and sweetcorn with salad cream instead of butter. Plus I scoop the potato out and mix it all together to eat.

Meanwhile the potato skins have gone back in the warm oven with a sprinkle of cheese on to eat afterwards. So good!

Furries · 24/04/2023 02:29

Chilli
Sausages (done in air fryer) then chopped up and stirred into baked beans done on the hob

WandaWonder · 24/04/2023 02:37

Mince and heaps of cheese

Like spaghetti bolognese without the tomatoes (well I don't like too much tomatoes)

user1471462634 · 24/04/2023 03:37

Tinned mackeral with cheese.
I love fish with potato.

Egg mayo. Also, how do you cook a baked potato in an air fryer?!!

I cook mine in the microwave then stray oils on it, cover it in Anglesey Sea Salt (not cheap table salt) then 10 mins on 180 degrees in the air fryer

CeriB82 · 24/04/2023 05:51

Spray not stray!!

Doingthework · 24/04/2023 06:23

Butter, hot baked beans without much of the sauce and then cottage cheese with loads of sea salt a course ground black pepper. It the hot and cold thing that does it for me.

bluechameleon · 24/04/2023 07:46

Bean chilli and sour cream. Or coronation Chickpeas. Or baked beans and cheese. Or just loads of butter. I love jacket potatoes.

Deathraystare · 24/04/2023 10:07

Not very exciting for you. I am traditional when it comes to toppings. Cheese and beans!

Surely2023IsTheYearForMyRainbowBaby · 24/04/2023 11:07

Cheese melted on and topped with prawn Marie rose. Our jacket potato stand does the most amazing sweetcorn salad. I can't remember exactly what it is but it's something along the lines of sweetcorn mixed together with salad cream, Mayo, possibly Greek or natural yogurt or even sour cream and black pepper

BathshebaKnickerStickers · 24/04/2023 12:52

I’m currently in hospital and absolutely in love with today’s Coronation Chicken

Lots of proper butter, chilli con carne, sour cream, grated mature cheddar. Mmmmm.
