First races (elite wheelchairs) about to start. Anyone else slobbing on the sofa watching folk exert themselves today?

Nah. Good luck to them though.

Me. Im watching for Adele Roberts who is running with a stoma and hoping to get a guiness world record holder.
I also have a stoma and cant even run 20 steps so this is very inspiring

Hoping they don't get a downpour of rain - looking overcast in London.

Sorry to see Brigid Kosgei has had to fall out.

I'm watching. I love it!

Genie321 · 23/04/2023 10:09

I love having this on in the background. Kudos to those running. Wish i could do it but sort of glad i won't!

mynewusername2023 · 23/04/2023 10:11

I'm watching it from under a blanket on the sofa - the only way to do it 😜

I watch every year and love the stories. For the first time in a long time I don't know anyone who is running this year.

Me too - blanket, nice cup of tea, mild hangover 😃

Very relaxing addition to my Sunday morning. Have it on in the background and I find the commentary really soothing.

GroovyGangConscript · 23/04/2023 10:16

Must be extra difficult for the athletes who have been fasting for Ramadan in the run up Shock

No not watching but wish them all well: I did it in 2003 (note I say ‘did it’ rather than ‘ran it’ as it was more of a painful stagger than a run!) and cool overcast or slightly drizzly weather may actually be good as long as it doesn’t tip down.

kingofchaos · 23/04/2023 10:20

Yes! Have it on in the background.

Hoping no fatalities this year though 🙏

QueSyrahSyrah · 23/04/2023 10:20

I'm watching! It's always so inspiring.

Sadly we'll be out this afternoon during the hours that people start finishing, which is always my favourite bit. I'll be home for the highlights though!

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 23/04/2023 10:31

On in the background here. I ran a 2k kids race in the early 90's but every year think I'd love to do it. Maybe for my 50th....

GroovyGangConscript · 23/04/2023 10:33

Go Mo!

Poor Sifan struggling - hope she can make the right decision whether to power on or fall out.

Yep, DD and I are watching, we were there yesterday as DS ran the mini marathon yesterday. He’s out with DH at a rugby tournament this morning though so missing it. Conditions were much better yesterday for the Juniors!

Well done to your DS.

No but I'm following someone on the app.

It's very good, beats standing at the roadside craning your neck to spot your runner!

Onefootinthegroove · 23/04/2023 10:52

My niece is running but I cant watch as in work with no access to a TV ( I'm on a break atm)
Good luck to every brave soul running today 🍀🍀

SpringLobelia · 23/04/2023 10:55

London marathon
Any Royal Wedding
Prob the Coronation.

Standard situation Chez Lobelia- ironing, tv and wine.

Love it.

I heard the interview with Adele Roberts yesterday about her record attempt running with a stoma. She was charming and funny and I wish her all the best today!

GroovyGangConscript · 23/04/2023 10:56

Nice finish for De Rozario!
