Freezer bags
Cuddly toys
Dill sauce for salmon

KirstenBlest · 20/04/2023 19:48

Go with a list, or if just going without anything in mind, have a good look round but don't buy anything. When you get home, think long and hard about whether or not you needed anything that caught your eye, then go back to get it.

If you don't want to do that, go for a cuppa and a sit down before actually paying.

IhearyouClemFandango · 20/04/2023 19:57

I'm just going for a wander with my mum as we are nearby. I normally have loads of things I want over the months, then when I actually go I completely forget what they were. 😬

Do not, I repeat NOT buy their jar of gherkins. My god, I nearly threw up when I ate one, thought they would be just like the maccy d's gherkins. They are not 🙁

IhearyouClemFandango · 20/04/2023 19:58

I should add, we don't live near it hence wanting to make the most of a visit!

They do a neat little plastic shower caddy that fixes to the pole and looks like it's made of chrome, it's big enough for a couple of bottles if shower gel and if you want you can fit two.

I've got one in my home shower and even one in our caravan shower as shown in the photos below 😊

The sachets of gravy for meatballs!
If not needing anything in particular, I usually grab little things I see that I think would be useful as I go round, usually handy storage things. SKUBB boxes for inside drawers, I have them in every chest of drawers 😂
I tend to stock up on freezer bags, candles and always end up buying more fake flowers!

mondaytosunday · 20/04/2023 20:02

Those plastic clip things for bags. They sell the best. Paper napkins. A cheap throw that can be used as a dog blanket etc. A few kilner type jars for storage or jam making. Tea lights. An orchid or other plant. Frozen meatballs and the berry sauce for them. They probably have a few nice things for summer too.

Blondey2023 · 20/04/2023 20:03

Otherwise the sweets are yummy! And they sell bags of meatballs yum yum.

Ohhh sandwich bags are handy.

Their curtain and blind pole kits are brilliant. Depends what you're after but you can't go wrong really (other than the gherkins!)

Have fun!

BrokenLink · 20/04/2023 20:03

The massive blue bags that they sell near the tills. You can never have too many and they are so useful.

24KaratCucumber · 20/04/2023 20:04

Wall to wall Kallax and Drona boxes...

My way of tidying is known as the 'Hurlitinadrona' I may write a book.

YesitsBess · 20/04/2023 20:08

Everything. I buy fucking everything.

90 sheepskin rugs? SOLD!
ALL THE KITCHEN THINGS
Soft plushie fucking SHARK because why not?
Several plants
Then I stop briefly for Lingonberry fizzy and snacks.
GIANT ORNAMENTAL LEAVES! In fairness I did get years of use out of those because the children loved them.

I'd buy the sodding soft play area if it had a tag on it.

And this is why I'm not allowed to go to IKEA.

Icedblondelatte · 20/04/2023 20:10

Today I bought a new washing basket, sealing clips, övermätt food covers, coat hangers, recycling bin and a new duvet plus duvet cover. I only went in for the washing basket.

AluckyEllie · 20/04/2023 20:13

Wooden hangers. Freezer bags- use them for kids toys/Dirty clothes when out and about/ putting fixings in when I unassemble something. Cheese grater with the box attached so you just tip it in. Storage bags for baby clothes in attic. Cushions. Picture frames

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 20/04/2023 20:22

My last trip I bought :-
White flannels to use instead of face wipes
Bag clips
Long narrow storage bag for wrapping paper, bows, cards etc
Yet another throw
Bag of Daim mini

KirstenBlest · 20/04/2023 20:35

The freezer bags are brilliant. Buy different sizes.

I like a lot of their things, and favourites are kitchen things like cutlery drainers, crockery, big saucepan, cutlery, and garlic press.
I have several duvet covers from there and some large cotton rugs, which amazingly have survived going in the washing machine.
And I have lots of furniture.

My next visit, I'll be stocking up on freezer bags and tea towels, and maybe some of the things recommended on here.

coeurnoir · 20/04/2023 20:36

I went to ikea on a whim with my brother once. I also don't live near one.

£500 and that was before I hit the food bit.

Check out the website first your bank account willing thank you.

But don't even think of leaving there without meatballs, meatballs gravy, lingonberry jam and miniature daim bars.
