The set of three square Tupperwares with the yellow lid are the perfect one-serving meal size, all other shops sell just huge and tiny ones.

songaboutjam · 28/05/2024 01:43

Those tiny stuffed toys from the kids section. Little bears and snakes and things. The perfect size for a car companion or a desk mascot!

It's been a while since I was last in an IKEA... someone please tell me they still do them.

Watching with interest.

If anyone can tell me what you bought your student child from Ikea (that they actually used), I'd be very appreciative.

Not sure what age but my teen recently came away with the peg board and a range of different accessories for it to store notebooks, art supplies, and lots of little things that don’t really have a home. They have fittings to attach to a desk so don’t have to be wall mounted.

Dog ate the entire pack of ginger biscuits when we weren’t looking 🙄

Last time I went to Ikea to buy some frozen meatballs and glass jars, I came out with a new dining room table and 2 velvety green wing back chairs.

Smart light bulbs
Drona boxes for Kallax units
Glasses, we go through loads & you can bet you break some, so it's not worth buying expensive ones for everyday use.
Any smart storage stuff, I've bought the cable tidies for round the back of the television.
Kitchen storage, things like spice storage, racks for inside cupboards for crockery
Lighting, IKEA does lots of fairly cheap lamps & light fittings.

Toftland rugs.
Freezer bags.

They don’t do daim bars any more

novocaine4thesoul · 28/05/2024 02:32

You are going on the wrong day !!! you have to go on a Friday with your IKEA family card and have a half price meal (until end of August) and free tea or coffee. Who can argue with meatballs and chips with that special gravy and lingonberry jam for £2.45. When my adult kids say "we need you to drive us to Ikea" there are never any strong objections. I always come out with some random crap mind. I have stopped buying the plant of the week, because it literally only lasts a week, however tenderly you treat it. In fairness to them, their furniture is easier to put up than nearly anything from elsewhere at the same price point.

I recently bought the clear glass 365+ storage containers with the bamboo lid. I changed food storage away from plastic to glass. freezer bags in cute designs. Vardera Tea cups. Samla clear plastic underbed storage bins are very nice and while they do not fit under all beds they did fit under uni bunk beds. I bought my uni son the Malm desk with pull out side and Lack tv stand. 4 yrs later still both in use and working fine. Tea towels/spatulas/ door mats. my absolute favorite purchase is Tjusig shoe rack. Have purchased 6

When we moved into our own place i bought a very fancy expensive set of plates and bowls and then afew 50p white ones from Ikea.

Long story short.
Ikea are the only ones i still have

I put together a sofa bed and a double bed frame from there over the weekend, solo, so definitely agree with this.

KirstenBlest · 28/05/2024 12:34

@FrothyCothy , was it SKÃ…DIS freestanding peg board, white, 56x37 cm - IKEA?

FrothyCothy · 28/05/2024 12:41

KirstenBlest · 28/05/2024 12:34

We wall mounted ours but yes that’s the range! These are the adaptors to add to a desk.

https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/skadis-connector-white-10320789/

you can also get connectors for the side of a wardrobe.

We got two different sizes. Search Skadis to see all the accessories. We like the storage baskets that come as a set

https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/skadis-storage-basket-set-of-3-white-50517760/

and these sliding containers

https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/skadis-container-with-lid-white-80335909/

Desk is much more organised now we have these on the wall.

SKÃ…DIS storage basket, set of 3, white - IKEA

SKÃ…DIS storage basket, set of 3, white Create a better organisation of your things by adding SKÃ…DIS accessories to your SKÃ…DIS pegboard. A great solution to fit your needs and to keep your favourite things close at hand.

Freezer bags

Paper napkins

A hanger for scarves

Last year I bought a chopping board on legs . . . you put a plastic box underneath and push all your peelings or the chopped vegetables into it. Really handy

I think they only sell them at Christmas but I was given a tin of very thin ginger biscuits . . . I would be ashamed to tell you how quickly they disappeared😂

ukku · 28/05/2024 12:52

Toilet brushes.

Deathraystare · 29/05/2024 10:28

I went yesterday with a friend! We both got a small pan and brush set and I got some kitchem towel and a holder and some slip ons for the bathroom.

evilharpy · 29/05/2024 10:53

Pokal glasses are the best
Ribba frames
We got a new black kitchen tap from there recently, it's lovely and was very easy to install
The big blue bags are amazing for sorting and putting way laundry instead of having to store multiple laundry baskets (everything goes into one big laundry basket, then sorted into bags for whites, colours, tumble dry, non tumble dry etc on laundry days)
Their 365 cookware is really good

Obviously fill up on meatballs to give yourself enough energy for all the shopping
