Hate hate being so short with huge bust

Littlemsshorty · 18/04/2023 14:58

The genetic lottery can be so unfair. Both my parents are tall but I am this short dumpy creature with huge boobs. I’m 5ft 2 with DD bust. Doesn’t matter how much weight I lose (currently size 10) clothes look crap on me.

Was trying on dresses today but my huge bust meant even larger sizes were straining over my bust. Dresses seemed to be designed for tall people and most dresses are down to my feet, even the shorter length ones in M&S. The petite range in Next is a joke, meant to cater for short people and yet all their petite range dresses and skirts are down by my feet scraping the floor!

I hate being this short and busty and am so envious of people with a bit of height. Clothes look so much better and you can eat more.

Oh me too ! 5ft 2 & DD. Terrible time finding clothes that fit in any direction. I can’t even make any helpful suggestions, I swear there are none !

JennieTheZebra · 18/04/2023 15:13

Try being 5’1 and and an H cup. I was a DD at 11…

Gregorylass · 18/04/2023 15:14

Me too. 5"0' with big boobs and bum. Nothing looks right on me. I get fed up of looking at clothes and then reading 'the model is 5"10 and wearing a size 8.' Sickening.

4ft 11,with a dd, nightmare and all my go to petite ranges are going to pot!

trulyunruly01 · 18/04/2023 15:21

I'll join your club. However much weight I lose I still have this matronly look about me, I would love to lose the 'shelf of bosom' look and have two separate breasts.

Wanderingowl · 18/04/2023 15:25

I'm shorter with a bigger bust. Clothes look just fine on me.

PercyJ · 18/04/2023 15:26

Have you got a well fitting bra? I find that makes all the difference. 32J here and 5ft 2 and I look ok I think 🤣

I bet you look great!

DelilahBucket · 18/04/2023 15:28

DD is not big at all. I would hazard a guess that those who say they have huge boobs at a DD are wearing the wrong bra size and a better fitting bra will make clothes look much better.
I'm 5ft 3" and a 32H so I absolutely know how it feels, but I also feel much better when I'm wearing a supportive bra. My mum is a 40K, she's only 5ft. She is very overweight and an apple shape, whereas I am hourglass, but big boobs are definitely in the genetics here.

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 18/04/2023 15:31

I hate it too. 5ft2 and a GG cup. Everything looks awful on me so I hide in hoodies. Dreading summer and I can't wear cooler clothes. I don't know what to wear to suit a large bust. And don't even get me started on the back pain, neck pain and under boob sweat.....

KirstenBlest · 18/04/2023 15:40

The DD cup is a red herring here. If you have a small back size, a DD cup isn't huge. You will have a bust if you are something like a 30DD or 32DD but it woon't be enormous.

MaryJean87 · 18/04/2023 15:49

DD is an average size I think. I'm a 32G and about 5'3 and though I've got a good rack I don't think I'm way out of proportion.

turnthebiglightoff · 18/04/2023 15:52

5'3 and a GG here. I find boat necks and 3/4 sleeves a life saver. I can't wear short sleeves or v necks otherwise I look like I belong in a carry on film.

halfsiesonapotnoodle · 18/04/2023 15:55

I'm 4'11 with an F cup and size 20. I can't see your problem, OP!

Nyancat · 18/04/2023 15:56

Ff or g here and 5ft4, I hate them and have realised recently my posture is so bad because they are heavy and I've been trying to hide them my whole life by hunching as I hated them even as a child. I was a c in primary school! I've awful neck and back pain I think might be linked and would love a reduction

greenspaces4peace · 18/04/2023 15:58

5’3” and my breast reduction at 62 yrs was the best thing I ever did.

Skybluepinky · 18/04/2023 16:01

DD isn’t a huge bust, my 13 year old niece is yr height and F cup she certainly doesn’t look busty, sounds like u just had a bad day trying on clothes and couldn’t find anything that suited u.

dontcallmelen · 18/04/2023 16:07

I get how you feel OP, really don’t think it’s helped by mad sizing & petite clothing appears to be getter longer & wider, I’m 4ft 10 30e with the added difficulty of being very scrawny & old I currently hate everything in my wardrobe & have zero interest in buying anything new because very little actually fits.

Littlemsshorty · 18/04/2023 16:16

Why are most clothes in shops designed for taller people? Who is wearing these extra long dresses which just swamp me. Even looking at them on the rail I can tell there is no way I could wear it without tripping up constantly! M&S do a “petite” length on these long dresses which takes the dress down to my ankle!

I don’t think tall people or even average height people get how awful it is to be short and to try to dress wear. Even at my thinnest I still looked matronly with the bust and shortness. My DD bust is huge to me because it’s out of property with the rest of my body & I’m sick of trying to get a dress over my bust. I was trying on the Seasalt rang in M&S and the dresses even in a larger size wouldn’t easily go over my bust. Obviously tested for small busted women.

It's true you can eat more

Every pound counts!

Gah

Clementineorsatsuma · 18/04/2023 16:17

Pat Phoenix once said "it's impossible to look chic with a bigger bust" and I know what she meant.

Highlyflavouredgravy · 18/04/2023 16:19

What bra size are you wearing?

I'm 6 feet tall , size 14 to 16 and 36G boobs.
I hate dresses and struggle with leg lengths....the "tall" ranges are limited and usually awful quality. Plus there are no tall ranges in shops.
It's shit not being stock size.

LaMarschallin · 18/04/2023 16:24

It's such a shame Bravissimo stopped doing their Pepperberry clothes range.
I'm a bit more average in height but with a relatively big bust. For a lot of things to fit over my bust, they have to be bigger all over and hang from my boobs making all of me look bigger.
Pepperberry clothes made allowance for the boobage, but then came in close to the body again - so much more flattering.
It might be worth looking on somewhere like Vinted for PB/Bravissimo clothes. I also used to find a lot of the dresses too short for me, so that could work in your favour.

FirmPillow · 18/04/2023 16:30

I'm jealous. I'm also 5'2" but quite flat chested. I always think if I lost out on the height, god should have at least given me boobs to compensate.
