Hate hate being so short with huge bust

The genetic lottery can be so unfair. Both my parents are tall but I am this short dumpy creature with huge boobs. I’m 5ft 2 with DD bust. Doesn’t matter how much weight I lose (currently size 10) clothes look crap on me.

Was trying on dresses today but my huge bust meant even larger sizes were straining over my bust. Dresses seemed to be designed for tall people and most dresses are down to my feet, even the shorter length ones in M&S. The petite range in Next is a joke, meant to cater for short people and yet all their petite range dresses and skirts are down by my feet scraping the floor!

I hate being this short and busty and am so envious of people with a bit of height. Clothes look so much better and you can eat more.

I am 5ft now and lost 2inch in height as aged. I am big boned, broad shouldered, over weight for height. DD size big boobs. I hate it. Its not complimentary being a size 18 in top clothing. I also get breathless when walk due to weight top heavy and they dont make trousers for my height. So have to spend out more having them taken up. This country sucks. It never makes clothes for your correct height n weight. If you are short then its assumed you are thin too. But not aways the case..Big body short legs...

4ft 11, size 22 and F cup here. Yes it's not great but you sound like you have nothing to worry about and are very attractive. I never, ever refer to myself as dumpy BTW.

bradpittsbathwater · 24/03/2024 05:08

I'm short with a big bust and don't have issues with clothes. I tend to buy stretchy/jersey wrap dresses with a v neck and they're quite flattering on a larger bust.

I don't usually like dresses with buttons though as it looks like I'm going to burst out.

AllTheChaos · 24/03/2024 05:13

I used to feel like this when I had a bigger bust (I’m a smidge over 5 foot), but found that a really well fitted bra, coupled with very tailed clothes in a more 1940s/50s style, made a massive difference.
Then I lost lots of weight, and now have no bum and no bust. Out of my clothes I look, frankly, sexless, but if I make the addition of a padded bra then clothes definitely do seem to hang better on me now! Even though I now have the figure of a prepubescent male. Which just goes to show that a lot of clothes are designed for women with bodies like teenage boys wearing a bit of padding..

Learning to sew might be an idea. Or finding a good seamstress / tailor.

I'm 5 ft 0 and my boobs are down to my knees but in a good bra I'm an F.

I know how you feel. Am in same boat. Plus fashion in uk sucks! Every time buy trousers have to pay extra to have them taken up. I am only 5ft.1in tall and shrank with age. I hate being short and over weight. I have size 40dd breast size too. And a belly to match. Everyone towers over me in crowds. I hate it soo much. I am everything I never wanted to become. Fat. Short. Full of health issues. We cant choose I guess...Life is cruel.

RedBulb · 29/09/2024 21:14

I’m right there with you OP, have no idea what to wear most of the time and just feel dumpy, especially after getting older and carrying a bit more weight post-baby.

Nearly 40 and in dresses I still feel like a child wearing my Mums clothes.

I love wrap dresses and something reasonably low cut but dresses in high street shops fit me weird, there is always a gap at the shoulders which means my bra ends up on display or the dress fits weird at the waist, neither are quite the look I am going for 😂

RainingCatsDogsAndCake · 29/09/2024 21:28

I have the same problem. Im 5 ft 1 on a tall day with f cup boobs. I have to be careful in the shape of clothes. They need to come on under boob at least a bit otherwise I look 9 months pregnant.

AutumnGarland · 29/09/2024 21:37

I’m 5ft2 and a 34F, it’s a nightmare finding clothes. I either look frumpy or completely inappropriate for anywhere other than a nightclub.

mackthepony · 29/09/2024 21:37

I feel your pain

It looks matronly

DaemonMoon · 29/09/2024 21:43

I'm 4'10 and DD and I think they look compact yet curvy. Nor dreadful at all. What I do hate, after filming myself doing some sports techniques to check it was done properly, I looked dumpy at BMI 22.

I never dress in what I like, simply in what fits.

Screamingabdabz · 29/09/2024 21:46

I feel your pain and raise it! I know it’s not a competition but I’m all that with the added joy of a spare tyre and menopause belly. I may as well give up 🤦🏻‍♀️

HiveMindEchoChamber · 29/09/2024 21:49

My DM is 5ft 2 and a GG! She looks amazing at 50 and v glam, but she wears very 'booby' tops and steers clear of anything I'd wear such as oversized shirts, blouses, boho style (I'm 5ft4 B cup). DM spends a lot on fancy bras that lift/shape/separate, it's probably a big expense!!!

CordeliaNaismithVorkosigan · 29/09/2024 21:55

I loathe mine, I had a cancer scare a couple of years ago and consoled myself with the thought that at least if I needed a mastectomy that would mean I got rid of them. I’m short and curvy but in a fairly high-powered job and my preferred look at work is ‘brain on a stick’ so I spend my life disguising them. I don’t want to look glam, or anything near it.

T4phage · 29/09/2024 23:00

I'm 5'3" and have an F cup. I'm an apple shape and have to wear size 20 tops, but I'm a 16 on the bottom. I'm going to have to have another reduction. I had one at age 22, but they've grown back and my right one is two cup sizes bigger than my left one. I'm going to tell the surgeon to just lob them off 😂

honeyfox · 29/09/2024 23:07

It's very difficult trying to find clothes to suit. I'm 5'0, size 16 and a 34F which wasn't even too bad until I got to perimenopause age and now have a big midriff too. Sigh.

hopsalong · 29/09/2024 23:11

Honestly I envy you people. I would love to have your body type. I'm 5'9'', straight as a whistle, and there really aren't any clothes to buy in shops when the trousers are all ankle grazers, the sleeves are knocking around your elbows, and (worst) tops ride up all the time showing your mid-section (flabby after 2 c-sections) and cold in winter. I would love to be short and curvy.

Autumn38 · 29/09/2024 23:14

I’m so so confused by this thread. I’m 5 foot 2 with a DD bust (used to have much bigger boobs but breastfeeding and losing a LOT of weight put paid to that) and I haven’t had your experience at all.

I can wear loads of different dresses - all different lengths. And my boobs look in proportion and neat when I’m wearing a good bra.

my back is small though so I’m a 30/DD and I’m a size 6/8 clothes so I wonder if that is what makes the difference.

DaemonMoon · 29/09/2024 23:16

I'm 28 DD so maybe it does? I think mine are on the average to small size.

Moonshiners · 29/09/2024 23:18

I have the problem of big tummy no tits which is not a good look however tall you are!

SkiingIsHeaven · 29/09/2024 23:20

I'll join the club too. Absolutely hate it.

RampantIvy · 29/09/2024 23:24

I wonder if all these huge boobed women with a DD bra are wearing the correct bra size. I wear a 32D and look pretty flat chested.

@Littlemsshorty what is the back size of the bras you are wearing? If you are a size 10 you probably need a 30 or 32.

T4phage · 29/09/2024 23:26

Apples don't have small backs. We're like beach balls. I have slim legs as well. I look ridiculous, but the boobs are the final insult as I have to wear oversized tops.

T4phage · 29/09/2024 23:28

I'm a 40 F. Anything smaller in the band and it hurts. People that claim I could be a 32 X or something don't understand how apples work. We're the worst shape going.
