I've made similar before and it's absolutely lovely. I always add tarragon but not everyone likes it.

Iftar buffet of: samosa, kibbeh, hummus, fattoush, grilled chicken, fries, Vimto jelly and red tea. Delish!

custardbear · 13/04/2023 17:30

Salmon wellington, roasted potatoes, carrots, corn on the cob and broccoli 🥦

Fandabedodgy · 13/04/2023 17:32

Either chicken Caesar salad or chicken with soy sauce and rice and peas.

golddustwomen · 13/04/2023 17:32

Cheese and onion quiche, roasted veg and corn on the cob. I will smother my veg in sweet chilli sauce.

Funny- we're having cheese and onion quiche with small jacket potatoes and a large salad.

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 13/04/2023 17:37

MustardChair could you post the beef ramen recipe please?

Lentil soup and homemade bread tonight. According to some people soup isn't an evening meal, but we all like it. Grin

Tomorrow pulled pork wraps, with a Victoria sponge for dessert (we have a friend coming to visit).

Saturday will probably be nachos with chilli I made a few weeks ago. I love having meals in the freezer.

We probably live thousands of miles from each other but I’d guarantee 9 out of 10 homes in my area will have Vimeo on the table for Iftar. It’s not Ramadan without Vimto.

seething1234 · 13/04/2023 17:41

We have having sausages, rashers, eggs and soda bread.

I worked late then did a complete deep clean downstairs. I stupidly bought chicken thighs in the tesco shop today and couldn't be arsed falling around deboning and taking the skins off, which was today's plan for a chicken noodle stew.

I've the airfryer on and I'm sitting reading my kindle.

MyFaceIsAnAONB · 13/04/2023 17:42

Ooh some fab ideas here. I’m having to do gluten and dairy free at the mo so looking at lots of GF Vegan recipes, but this thread is giving me lots of inspo for things I can adapt!
very carnivorous husband and very fussy children plus my physical foibles 😭 so hard feeding everyone

MustardChair could you post the beef ramen recipe please?

I hate to admit this but;

  • leftover roast beef from the freezer
  • -instant noodles (beef or chicken flavour)
  • cook noodles and flavour sachet according to instructions
  • -add defrosted beef ; sweetcorn; cooked through mange tout and fresh or dried chilli (oh and tenderstem broccoli that is cooked)
  • top with a fried egg!

I have a child with eating issues and I can get this into him (not the egg or chilli though) and he will actually eat it. Whenever I roast a chicken or piece of beef I finely slice the leftovers and freeze ready for this dish.

It's the easiest thing in the world- but possibly not authentic. Smile

BritishDesiGirl · 13/04/2023 17:43

Iftar here also.

Kofta curry, grilled oven Chapatti, pakora, samosa, chutney

UsernameTaken76 · 13/04/2023 17:45

Simply Cook Morrocan chicken which is served with cous cous with mint leaves & pomegranate seeds mixed in.

Love the Simply Cook meals during the week

FruitBatBaby · 13/04/2023 17:45

Homemade Bacon Quiche
Watercress
Waffle fries from Aldi (kind of like rustic skin-on fries)
Cucumber and Tomato

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/04/2023 17:48

Vegetable and lentil soup with fresh (not homemade) bread.

PToosher · 13/04/2023 17:51

Feijoada - Brazilian black bean stew. I'll be serving it with kale and white rice.

DoNutSweatTheSmallStuff · 13/04/2023 17:51

Chicken curry (balti) & rice.

Last night was tuna spaghetti.
Tomorrow will likely be sausage & mash.

Could do with some more inspiration!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/04/2023 17:51

@GrouchyKiwi When I was cooking for 4, we used to have homemade soup as a main evening meal a few times a month, but with a pudding and custard after it - it always felt like a real treat!

DiscoBeat · 13/04/2023 17:53

Salmon tonight with a crushed new roasted garlicky potatoes and green beans. My teens love it and it's an easy meal!

charliegirl86 · 13/04/2023 17:54

Gammon steak, fried egg, jacket and peas with salad cream

Plump82 · 13/04/2023 17:56

Roasted aubergine, courgette, onions and tomatoes with feta cheese and quorn chicken pieces on a mediterranean flatbread. I'll add a balsamic glaze thing once it's plated.
