There is a lot to be said for magnolia

This is a house with very individual interiors that I absolutely love. It’s maximalist and whacky but very stylish.

OMG! I completely love this. Need a lottery win so badly right now. I’d pay more to buy it as it is.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 12/04/2023 11:35

quite like the pink padded wall

It's just wallpaper though. You can tell by how flat it is on the pics.

It's just looks like a party house with every angle seemingly set up as a 'quirky' photo backdrop.

Blossomandbee · 12/04/2023 11:35

It's very erm, bold. I don't hate it though, it's fun. I quite like the kitchen.

Yes, that's been done very well. The owners understand colour, the artwork is interesting.

I cannot believe so many posters have said that the first house has been done well and they clearly have a good eye. Look at it! So much meaningless identikit quote art on the walls...colours just chucked together...fake grass in the garden. Like has been said they went mad during lockdown inspired by instagram.

Keepthetowel · 12/04/2023 11:40

It’s a party house, it’s so refreshing to see a house decorated with some individuality,

Is there though?

I suppose for some people magnolia / beige / shades of grey are preferable to a bit of character but surely that’s just a taste thing. I can’t imagine anything more depressing than living in such a bland setting.

AngelDelightUK · 12/04/2023 12:41

The first word that sprang to mind was “brothel”..

mamabear715 · 12/04/2023 12:47

Someone's put their heart & soul into it.
No way would I slate their taste. We're all individual & I like my (MN hated) magnolia!

OnceBitten25 · 12/04/2023 12:53

I like it! Wish I had the balls and the budget to do something similar.

The only thing that grates on me is the misspelling of "aisle" on one of the prints 😂

TheSilentSister · 12/04/2023 12:55

Anyone else think the owners are probably swingers?

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 12/04/2023 12:58

Someone's put their heart & soul into it.

Very true. Nobody is saying that you have to keep the decor as it is, once you buy the house.

For all you know, the owner could boringify it and make it completely neutral before putting it on the market and then find that the person who buys it shares the same Bohemian tastes - so they both have to waste their time undoing and redoing the same decor!

MyMachineAndMe · 12/04/2023 13:09

When I was in labour with my eldest is had quite a few drugs and was in a rather altered state of mind. One of the things I saw was a wall of red leather, studded like the back of a leather settee. It's as though these people heard my ramblings, thought it was a great idea and recreated it in their house!

SoupDragon · 12/04/2023 13:11

Not to my taste but I far prefer to see something with personality than wall to wall greige and shiny white floors.

BasiliskStare · 12/04/2023 13:13

It would not be to my taste but the kitchens and bathrooms look OK. Once the owners have taken all their stuff out then I can't believe ( as long as no damp , other problems etc ) it would not be a problem to redecorate - so if it were me , only a viewing could tell if it is a house you could live in. If the area etc is nice and the sort of house you want then I can't see why a buyer could not see beyond the decoration ( same as I can't see why people can't see beyond lots of grey if they like the house. ) If it were me , & I did like the house I would love to live in it for a while whilst I decided what I wanted to do with it. It's quite fun.

midsomermurderess · 12/04/2023 13:16

I love the parrot wallpaper in the bathroom. The owners clearly decided to choose joy.

SunhatsAndFlipFlops · 12/04/2023 13:21

Whilst it’s not my cup of tea, I admire and appreciate people who just go for it and stay true to their style.

The astro turf is the only thing that offends me😵

Namechangeforthis189 · 12/04/2023 13:24

I really really like it! I’d far rather live in a house like that than the various shades of grey in every room that’s the norm now.

Glitterkitten24 · 12/04/2023 13:25

At least it’s not boring! 😂

As an aside, I’d live to live in Kirkcubright, it’s such a beautiful town!

slowsundays · 12/04/2023 13:29

I am a maximalist and love layering items and plants but this is too much even for me.

Tidsleytiddy · 12/04/2023 13:39

I like the kitchen

LaLaLouella · 12/04/2023 13:44

It's utterly devoid of personality. Why can't anybody else see it 😂 It's all mass produced tin signs, wayfair furniture and fake plants. All bought and thrown together very recently to try and create a particular look

LaLaLouella · 12/04/2023 14:09

@Sourfairy well I guess we'll have to disagree then!

How is putting together things you like not showing your personality?
