Is anyone currently sitting in their garden? I am after doing some gardening and all I hear is the gentle rumble of traffic and birds? What can you hear?

My kids moaning.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 07/04/2023 13:55

Well, I’ve put some washing out but now back at desk WFH <violins>

Nannyfannybanny · 07/04/2023 13:56

My DH using the shredder after pruning a 60foot eucalyptus!!! Actually sat out there reading the paper today. All I've done is water the salad in one green house. I have sown a lot of seeds, cut the grass and verge, though.

RosesInWater · 07/04/2023 13:56

Nothing as I've taken my hearing aids out lol 😂

When I put them back in I'll just hear the birds, it's quiet cul de sac, open field at the back, and neighbours + LOUD kids gone away. Happy Days.

DustyLee123 · 07/04/2023 13:57

Next door neighbour cleaning out their rabbits.

MintJulia · 07/04/2023 13:58

I'm cleaning the garden furniture.

There's a chiffchaff calling from the top of the garden and some wood pigeons. I can hear the farmer next door's tractor and someone whistling. It's 16 degrees. What a relief 😊

Alonglongway · 07/04/2023 14:00

just had a pair of buzzards circling and calling over us

17CherryTreeLane · 07/04/2023 14:01

All I hear are birds, and some bees buzzing around. Bliss.

Pahpahpotato · 07/04/2023 14:02

Birds, cows, rustling leaves. Occasionally my horses as they are grazing in the field behind the garden. Also my son who is SHRIEKING with absolute delight at his new bubble machine 🤣

MaryBoggintonTrotterSmyke · 07/04/2023 14:02

Neighbours mowing the lawn, pigeons in the big horse chestnut cooing, dd playing with a jug of water and watering the weeds. So nice!

OnMyWayToSenility · 07/04/2023 14:02

It was peaceful the neighbours a few doors down have given there dog a squeaky toy and my dog is now barking !

So I've sent her inside 🤣

Nomorebeer22 · 07/04/2023 14:04

Sat in the Garden with a cuppa. Lovely 😁
Can hear the bees, birds and somebody in the distance cutting the grass.

Perfect!

Justmuddlingalong · 07/04/2023 14:04

I've been out watering the seedlings and soaking some new plants before repotting them. Neighbours are having some roof slates replaced, so I've come indoors to have a coffee and I'll go back out to potter in the garden when it's quieter.
Mr & Mrs Magpie are busy nest building so they're very vocal today, the wood pigeons are cooing and there's been a few big fat bumblebees flying through.

MaidOfSteel · 07/04/2023 14:04

Just the chirping of the birds and the odd tractor rolling past.

orangeflags · 07/04/2023 14:05

A little robin shouting at me and a chainsaw in the distance

AliceOlive · 07/04/2023 14:05

I’m inside but window is open and I can hear birds singing, bugs, and a car racing by. Thank you for this thread.

PapadamPreach · 07/04/2023 14:05

The birds are singing, the fish in the pond are blowing bubbles, and there’s the gentle trundle of a tractor a couple of fields away.

LemonDrizzle10 · 07/04/2023 14:07

DD have had an alfresco lunch sitting on the garden chairs for the first time this year. She’s now filling pots with soil as we’re sowing this years seeds. I can hear a cleaning company making a lot of racket at a house over the road. Our friend’s tortoise is sunbathing in the Guinea pig run.

hamstersarse · 07/04/2023 14:07

There’s one particular bird singing very loudly and I don’t recognise its call. It definitely wants something

a neighbour is mowing their lawn, must be the first one of the season as lots of crunching sounds

Goodfuckingriddance · 07/04/2023 14:10

I love having a nosy into peoples different lives. These are the kind of days I love stuff to do but enjoyable stuff and the weather a perfect temperature instead of high summer where I sweat like anything and far too hot Grin

The sound of my own coughing and sneezing from not-covid. Feeling v sorry for myself on such a lovely day.

RemoteControlDoobry · 07/04/2023 14:21

I don’t have a garden currently (but will in less than two weeks!!😀) so I sat in the car earlier gazing at the sky and drinking a can of Pepsi. I love looking at the sky.

Now I can hear hundreds of people leaving the mosque over the road, horns blaring, traffic😩. I’m autistic so it’s even more of a sensory nightmare. When I move I’m going to be in that garden all day, sitting by the pond and listening to birds.

tapdancingmum · 07/04/2023 14:28

Listening to my DH trying to get an old hanging basket holder off to put me up a new one. It's not going quite right 😀

I can hear the birds and the children next door which is lovely to hear. I can see the guinea pigs enjoying the sunshine and am procrastinating before repotting the bay tree and planting some buckets up.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 07/04/2023 14:35

If my bloody neighbours weren’t DIY-ing (because, eeeek, it’s not raining therefore we must, as always, crack on with yet another bit of needless noisy garden work!!) then it’d just be birds and the odd dog barking 😀

Atethehalloweenchocs · 07/04/2023 14:36

Some lady on the trail behind my home having a loud phone conversation about her life since her husband died.
