I hope you are well. Nothing much here as have a sick child (who’s over the worst) and dh is at work.

we had to cancel a weekend away.

I'm going to have a coffee. An outfit for a special occasion is arriving so will try that on. Will settle down with some nice YouTube vlogs and kids will watch a movie 🎥

Had a bit of a tidy up and did some washing, went to the gym to feel better about a weekend of decadence, settling down for a coffee and catching up on MAFS. Meeting some friends later for a bit of bank holiday day drinking 🤗

Talkingtomyhouseplants · 07/04/2023 11:55

Next Good Friday I will be getting ready for my wedding!

Skyeheather · 07/04/2023 11:55

Washing, ironing, tidying up, about to make lunch and then I will await DP announcing that we are all heading out for a nice long family walk/bike ride because he needs the exercise so we all have to go! By the time he is ready to leave it will be 3 pm so we'll only get an hour before we have to come back again (he'll pick somewhere to go with a least a 30 minute drive there and back!).

Myself and DC do a lot of exercise during the week, we like to have a rest on the weekend! If there's an ice cream van/cafe on the walk DC won't be allowed anything because DP will say it's too expensive so there's always disappointment from DC. An Aldi ice cream cone when we get home is not the same as a bubblegum sundae from the van.

Listening to Fleetwood Mac and making a red velvet cake for dd1s birthday

Mightyouandiconfabulate · 07/04/2023 12:06

Having the best day.
Lawn has had its first cut, edging done, weed & feed down.
Planters all cleared of dead twigs, fresh compost topper on all ready for new plants.
cleared a huge tub of old shoes.
Tip run with pieces of good furniture good for someone in the bric-à-brac’s section.
Got me a new fancy mop. Super excited about using this!!
kitchen cleaned, bathroom cleaned, washing on the line, caravan door and windows open to give it a spring airing before a big clean ready for sale next week.
Having a 5 minute sit down then back to it!

Feeling accomplished today.

Did some work this morning while drinking a nice cuppa DH made for me. Took the dog for a run at the park, then got back into bed for a toasted hot cross bun and another cup of tea.

Tidied the kitchen and cleaned out the fridge while DH collected the food shop, then helped DH clear the patio which needs a good power wash. DH is getting on with that now while I fuss the cats and listen to Classic FM’s Hall of Fame.

Later I’ve got a bit more work to do then will probably have a few glasses of wine. Chicken Kiev for tea.

devildeepbluesea · 07/04/2023 12:17

Dog walked, shop done, gym session done.

Will go back out with mutt shortly because it’s so nice. May risk the mid in the woods.

Then probably home for the Carry On marathon on ITV3. Or maybe pub.

DD is at a friend’s so have a free evening.

Girasoli · 07/04/2023 12:23

DH and DS1 have gone to London to visit friends and see the Mario Brothers movie. Going to wagamamas for the veggie options as its Good Friday.

DS2 and I spent the morning at the playground, and will have lunch in a bit. Hopefully he'll have a nap after and I can tidy up (or watch netflix).

RattlewhenIwalk · 07/04/2023 12:26

Early doors went to M&S along with every other feckless idiot in this part of the world, it was heaving. Their daft shop layout is enraging. Grrr!

emmathedilemma · 07/04/2023 12:27

working as we don't get the bank holiday :( On the plus side it's so quiet I think i've got more done this morning than I have the rest of the week!

RattlewhenIwalk · 07/04/2023 12:30

Stoechas · 07/04/2023 11:57

Listening to Fleetwood Mac and making a red velvet cake for dd1s birthday

Sounds much nicer and more relaxing than M&S on a bank holiday weekend!

Hung the washing on the line.
Tidied the kitchen, put all the groceries away.
Sorted out all my tablets for the week (14 every morning, 2 at night.
Son coming round for lunch, then we're going to his new house and I'm going to do some cleaning, whilst my husband helps to unpack some stuff there.

TabbyM · 07/04/2023 12:37

At work (booo)

SkyeBlue28 · 07/04/2023 12:45

I went to the supermarket to buy a half leg of lamb for Easter Sunday because it was half price. Now I’m at the playground with my two children. I want so spend a few hours catching up on housework and when the kids are in bed I was relax in front of the TV.

stupidsocialmedia · 07/04/2023 12:46

I am so jealous of everyone doing washing! My nan drummed it into me that washing on Good Friday is bad luck, so never have (and have lost several very close family members, even though I've refrained from it, so worried about even worse luck).

jackstini · 07/04/2023 12:53

Nice cup of tea, then a coffee
Walked to church for a lovely service
Coffee and cake with friends after
Now getting fish & chips for lunch
Buffet & drinks at neighbours later
Happy Easter all 🐣

Decafflatteplease · 07/04/2023 13:19

Lovely thread! Thanks for starting @Slimjimtobe your plants look lovely and hope you are resting @lucysmam!

Lovely lovely day here, beautiful sunshine. I had a lie in this morning while DH did children breakfast etc. Then all in the garden all morning we've painted a gate that was well overdue, given the car a good sort out and a hoover etc. Just had lunch and about to head out for ice-cream in a local cafe then possibly onto the park. I would have liked to go to passion service at church at 3 but I think time is against us today!

Traditional fish for tea (fishcakes and wedges) then hopefully a glass of wine when DC asleep.

I also need to find all the Easter stuff ready for sun incase anything missing and I need to do an emergency dash to the shops tomorrow 😱

MrsTulip · 07/04/2023 13:22

Early doors for me this morning. 2 loads of laundry done before going up to church for a lovely service.
Now catching up on some paperwork and will be baking later

lucysmam · 07/04/2023 13:33

@Decafflatteplease I am, don't worry! My movements are being policed by the girls & several colleagues messaging to check up on me 🤣

I have done some washing & slowly hung it out though, and washed up twice, as well as painting peg people.

Going to a national trust property with the dog and any children that want to come to do an Easter egg trail. Just having a chilled day today.

Taking children out for a day or anywhere is def not a chilled day for me! Phew! You're made of tough stuff

GregRoy · 08/04/2023 11:15

We go on holiday on Tuesday so we’ve just been to collect our dollars and I got a caramel frappe from Starbucks. I’ve dropped DP off at a local breakfast place then he’s out all day with his friends, DS is with his dad! I was going to go to a music festival but I’m full of cold and we still haven’t packed 😬

so I’m going to nip to town to collect some clothes I’ve ordered then home to pack and try and have a big tidy! Tonight I’ll be home alone so I’m going to have a long hot bubble Bath, order a takeaway, drink baileys and watch Love is Blind. Can’t wait!

VineSt · 08/04/2023 11:17

Nothing much here. I didn’t get up until 9:30 which is really late for me. I feel a bit under the weather but nothing I can put my finger on.

If I feel better later I’ll go for a swim.

Climbingthelaundrymountain · 09/04/2023 09:30

@SchoolTripDrama the NT place was so packed we couldn't get in, so went somewhere else. And all the children came which is unusual and nobody fell out, very unusual! Not like this morning where there had been a scrap by 9!
