M&S hot cross buns

Just been looking at the M&S website at the various hot cross bun flavours they have this year.

I love their luxury traditional hot cross buns but has anyone tried any of the other flavours this year? I like the look of banoffee and the bramley apple ones in particular.

The bramley apple one are lovely, the chocolate ones are really sticky and taste like cake. Not tried the others.

@FrenchandSaunders No Marmite (shudder) or chilli ones. I bloody loved the chilli ones!

@yogaretreat - glad to hear the apple ones are worth trying. Will get some as well as the traditional

Chocolate ones are to die for.
Blueberry are ok but not great.
Apple revolting.
Cheese ditto.

M&S came out best in a taste test in

I think in the interests of research I might try the chocolate.

I love all the savory ones - marmite, chilli and cheese. I haven't been to m&s for months so haven't tried this year's offerings but I think bannoffee would be too sweet and I'm not keen on chocolate HCBs

The bramley apple ones are delicious. The blueberry ones are very nice. The chocolate ones are OK but not very hot cross bun-like.

Last year, they had salted caramel which were lovely. I'm disappointed they don't seem to be around this year.

@Lisbeth50 another vote for the apple ones! I quite like a blueberry so they sound OK. Not sure about the chocolate now.

I'm not a fan of salted caramel so wouldn't be tempted. I find it too sweet.

I live next to an m&s food and we've had three packs of the Apple ones so far! 😂

I refuse to try them. A hot cross bun is a hot cross bun. If you don’t like dried fruit then eat something else!

The chocolate chip ones are awesome, but they’re pretty much cake in hot cross bun shape!
I also love the cheese ones - try warming them up, gorgeous!
The apple are great too, but the banoffee are very sweet.

I haven't had the apple ones yet this year but in previous years they have been a firm favourite

We like the cheeses ones with bacon for breakfast.
the chocolate are delicious.
Not keen on the banofee though

Buns with cheese or apple or chocolate are NOT hot cross buns and shouldn’t be labelled as such

We’ve had some of the cheesy ones with their 65p cream of tomato soup. Really tasty!

Apples ones are lovely! Tried the banoffee ones and I thought more bread than flavour to them but ok
