My friend said that she thinks nose piercings are a statement about your sexuality

Well I keep seeing tiktok videos about how to identify if someone (female) is gay…..the main signs seem to be nose rings, cuffed jeans and flannel shirts. I must look like a walking advert for being a lesbian but I’m straight. 😆

And out of my gay friends not a single one has their nose pierced. So I don’t think it’s very accurate. We’re all fairly old though. No idea if nose rings are a thing with younger lesbians.

I had a nose piercing. I’m heterosexual.
The two women at work who still wear nose studs are also heterosexual.

Yep, I remember that. Similar in the 90s as to which side your nose/eyebrow ring was on.

Ironically my 19 year old daughter said today it's unofficially an indication of being gay. So I guess not old fashioned. Never heard of it myself
It came up as we were talking about her sister getting a piercing, although she hasn't said where

Nearly everyone I know with a nose piercing is straight.
But we're old, so whatever significance it has acquired now is not applicable to us. Odd to think that all the young people I worked with were probably assuming I was gay…
