Anyone else not knowingly had covid?

It seems like any time anyone has a virus of which there are many people auto suggest covid. Which is not logical at all. I wonder though how many people haven't had it. I had pneumonia in Jan 2020, ds2 had a positive test 2021. Nobody else tested positive tho, he wasn't actually ill either.

Not knowingly had Covid19. Had severe Covid-like symptoms throughout November and December 19. The first known case of Covid was December 19, in China.

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 02/04/2023 18:09

None of us have (me, DH and DD). We test if we have any symptoms or are around people who've tested positive. Suspect we had it back in Feb/March 2020 because we were all rough as hell, as was every kid in DDs class but couldn't test back then.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 02/04/2023 18:11

I know I haven't had it yet. Amazing as ds had it but was good about sitting outside or in his room.

It's weird,it's so endemic now, also why didn't we all get it when ds2 tested positive. Ds1 tested loads because he wanted a week off ha, but nope, nothing.

Not at all.

despite working in covid ICU through winter 21 and clinically face to face with known cases since.
No symptoms whatsoever throughout. not as much as a sniffle.
DD2 was LFT positive in January.

and I’ve been in a research study so know I haven’t had an asymptomatic infection.

CoffeeLover90 · 02/04/2023 18:15

Not tested positive, was testing if we felt unwell as I was in regular contact with family etc who were clinically vulnerable (when restrictions lifted). January 20, I had an awful cough and sinus pain, I felt ill for weeks. Was alone with a young baby and spent a couple of days laid up. Absolutely convinced I had it then.

DelilahBucket · 02/04/2023 18:15

My DH, even when me and DS had it and we didn't stay away from him. We were very poorly with it, he didn't even appear to catch it asymptomatically.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 02/04/2023 18:17

Nope, despite being back at work in mid 2020 and using public transport and being out and about a lot as well. Not as much as a cold the last three years. Either I've an immune system you can bounce rocks off or I've been very lucky. I didn't even have the horrible viruses that felled people the last couple of winters.

Number24Bus · 02/04/2023 18:18

DD hasn't had it as far as I know, even when the rest of the family and her best friend did.

Dortmunder · 02/04/2023 18:18

None of us and three of the four of us worked throughout.

LizzieSiddal · 02/04/2023 18:18

I haven’t knowingly had it and I was testing myself a lot as had a pregnant DD and a MIL with cancer, so was very careful. Dh had it and I don’t catch it from him, all family members and friends who I see regularly have had it.

At the moment I have an awful cough, sore throat and headache which has been going on for a month. Have tested but was negative.

It’s all very odd.

Allmyghosts · 02/04/2023 18:20

I had a virus in 2003 where I felt generally terrible and completely lost my sense of taste and smell for awhile. Maybe it was a corona virus similar to covid19.

OP posts:
SnarkyBag · 02/04/2023 18:21

I catch every virus going have had covid twice and knew I would test positive both times, feels very distinctive to me from other illnesses. Very odd that it impacts people so differently or not at all.

BHRK · 02/04/2023 18:22

You might not have treated positive but surely everyone who has been living anything like a normal life for the last year or so has had it by now? It’s been rampant. I’d be surprised if anyone hasn’t had it who is not housebound

FLDS · 02/04/2023 18:23

I haven't had it, to the best of my knowledge.

How is it distinctive to you? I would like to know.

That's what I'm wondering,I haven't even had a cold tbh, which is odd. Probably cursing myself now.

I haven’t had it, unless I was totally asymptomatic. Neither has DD to our knowledge.

mrsed1987 · 02/04/2023 18:30

Me and my son who was 14 months when it started. My husband caught it march 2021 but we both still avoided it.

I think I had it in December 2019

Lord it’s hard to describe because the symptoms sound the same as most other flu bugs it’s just how they felt. So the muscle ache was more like an ache that went right through your bones and the same with my throat it ached but it’s like it went all the way from the surface of my throat to the back of my neck. I also had hideous insomnia both times.

Probably not describing it very well to be honest Weirdly despite being really ill both times I didn’t get a headache as a symptom at all either time.

Allmyghosts · 02/04/2023 18:32

Idk my kids were quite poorly Dec 2019, maybe that was it.

OP posts:
SquareRootOfAllEvil · 02/04/2023 18:32

Haven’t had it as far as I know, and I’ve been testing regularly due to vulnerable family members. Never had specific Covid symptoms, although have had other respiratory things.

I’m assuming I must have had it at some point, though, just perhaps not showing up on the tests.
