Would you expect a refund?

Hi! Imagine if you ordered a few dishes from a caterer. Total came to 60 pounds. You paid in advance.

You were supposed to pick your food up on Friday but are too busy so tell the caterer you would pick the food up on Saturday instead but Saturday comes and you're not able to pick it up (and caterer can't deliver because they live around 1 hour away).
Sunday the food would go bad.

Would you expect a refund, a partial refund, or no refund?

No refund and I absolutely wouldn’t take an order from the customer again.

No refund. Its not the caterers fault nobody can pick up
As the caterer I would keep it till they collect, bad or not.

Yep no refund.

I agree that a lot if places would ask for half the cuts and then payment of the rest of the invoice when collecting. They would end up out if pocket.
However, this is exactly the reason why you asking fur payment in FULL is the right thing to do!!

No refund. Caterer fulfilled his/her part of the contract, and considering it was food, was generous for a Saturday pick-up. Wasn’t caterers fault that the client didn’t collect.

No refund! The deposit plus book the 'ingredients and cooking slot'. Any caterer would want the final payment before they actually made the food surely.

The customer is being unfair. They didn't collect the order so their fault.

No refund. Not caterers issue.
