@AlltheFs Love the idea of an equine care home!

I had no idea that the livery costs of horse ownership would be so high, I expected all the other expenses.

Vet bills (and insurance) seem to have risen very steeply over the last year or so. My dog had treatment for a bite recently that was £195 and it was all very straightforward. I think costs for my 2 dogs are about £150ish a month but money well spent.

A (little) dog and two cats. About £250 for food, insurance, and minor preventative treatment stuff (fleas etc). Less frequent than monthly costs include grooming, teeth etc.

My two lovely rescue cats:

Food approx £50pm
Wormer, flea treatment approx £10pm
Vets (including booster injections) approx £25pm (two five years olds so still in good health)
Treats approx £1pm (my DM also buys them some).
Save £15pm towards future bills (we started doing this with our last two in case we didn't have the money in bank account, never needed it so have about £3,250 set aside just in case).

Would add they are worth every penny and bit of trouble - meals out, day trips, wine, clothes would all go before I had to give them up.
