What do you actually want for your birthday?

Maybe something people wouldn’t think you would like?

Maybe something that’s actually really simple?

Maybe something crazy out there?

Am I shamelessly hoping I can steal some gift ideas for my dear mothers upcoming birthday? Yes I am!

I would really love some new pots for my garden. And candles, I actually love candles but no one ever buys them for me…maybe I wouldn’t love them so much if they did 😁

Perfume
Pyjamas
Nice notebook and pen
Molten Brown or Champneys toiletries
Goodies from Fortnum & Mason

DragonbornMum · 03/04/2023 14:11

Mine is coming up so I've been thinking...

What I really want is a massage. Hot stone if I can stretch it. And maybe a haircut (I've been doing it myself for years now).

Garden vouchers.
There's nothing better than wandering around a garden centre with free money.

FraterculaArctica · 03/04/2023 18:33

Probably not relevant to your DM, but I would like someone to offer to babysit our 3 small DC so I could have a meal or better still night away with DH.

BestIsWest · 03/04/2023 18:37

I’d like:
A damson tree.
Garden furniture
A Tiffany silver cuff
Tickets for Abba Voyage.
A MacBook Pro.

I’ll settle for anything for the garden though.

katscamel · 03/04/2023 19:25

Spa / beauty treatment voucher,
Nice earrings
Alpaca trek (love these)
City break....somewhere
Flowers
Jo Malone perfume
Theatre tickets

I live overseas but back for my bday in the summer so everything has to be easily packed.

Oh I just thought of something. I really want a Galileo thermometer. They look so cool.

I'd also like to go horse riding or gorge walking.

cassiatwenty · 04/04/2023 21:43

A fit Northerner soccerplayer as my bf 🤩

Soapyspuds · 04/04/2023 22:03

Booyou123 · 04/04/2023 22:13

I got an egg chair one Mother’s Day. It’s so lovely to sit and swing gently in- my mind just clears and I relax. If you don’t get one as a present- buy one for yourself!

Daisychainsandglitter · 05/04/2023 06:02

Molton Brown shower gel as I can never justify spending that kind of money on a shower gel.
Chilly's water bottle in purple.
Teal Dr Martens
DKNY nectar perfume
Massage.

MrsRickAstley · 05/04/2023 06:04

I would like a new vase please. Thank you.

Alwaysworryingoversomething · 05/04/2023 06:15

I'd like membership to the National Gallery or Curzon cinemas.

Or books. Or better still a book token so I can choose my own.

I do like a good soap - the Kew Garden ones are lovely
Flowers or potted flowers/plant for garden
Diptyque satin body oil
Jo Malone vitamin E scrub
Stationery
At the moment cushions for my outdoor bench
Straw bag for summer
Lunch out with DH
Picture of DH and DS now to go with the ones from when DS was little (now 15)
DVD of Mrs Harris goes to Paris
Slip silk thin scrunchies in a different colour

I know this thread is a few months old but do you recommend the Mrs Harris 2022 film or the one with Angela Lansbury?

DatumTarum · 26/07/2023 19:28

Instead statue for the garden or window boxes (and someone to put them up for me)

SusanSHelit · 26/07/2023 19:29

I'd love someone to pay for a cleaner to do a proper deep clean. I work full time and am a single mum, I also loathe cleaning entirely, but love having a clean house. My birthday is in the autumn so a good time for a good deep clean before the winter sets in.

The things I could do with that time. Reading, crafting, taking a nap, literally anything other than scrubbing bloody skirting boards

ASGIRC · 26/07/2023 19:39

I like perfumes and Swatch Watches.

There used to be a great online shop with old ones, but its closed down, and now it is much harder to tell my family which vintage watched to buy me...

But Ill also take new ones!

And then, closer to the time I will remember other things Ill want. Like, this yeah, I wanted a new vaccum cleaner and bedding! Last year, a kitchen robot!

But you cant go wrong with fruity perfumes and swatch watches!
