Does anyone have one and would you recommend? I was thinking of getting one for reminding me to take exercise et cetera.

If you do have one and like it, which model do you have.

Thank you

I have one, I actually gave the first one I had away because the battery needed charging every day vs a Fitbit which lasts a week.

I bought one after I had a heart issue for exactly the reasons described upthread. It's very clever, after I'd gone back to work post illness I had my first big day at a conference. I felt really rough half way through the day, my watch gave me a warning message. I phoned my GP who told me to go to A&E. They kept me in for two days.

PureGoldLeaf · 26/03/2023 19:09

As for the exercise reminders - I find them slightly annoying tbh. When I'm not ill I exercise most days anyway. The fact that you can't have a 'sick day', so it ruins your run of progress, is a bit annoying.

cannaecookrisotto · 26/03/2023 19:18

I have the Fitbit Sense 2 and the battery lasts days.

Does everything an Apple Watch does. I'm a big Apple user but the battery life put me off the watch.

PureGoldLeaf · 26/03/2023 19:23

Yes it did me @cannaecookrisotto, I had a series 3 watch which I gave away and didn't go back until the latest watch came out. Does a Sense 2 do an ECG? I had no idea, I would have stuck to Fitbit if I had known that.

It does. It also does abnormal cardiac rhythm alerts and stress testing.

Battery lasts about 5 days. I love it!

I'm looking at getting one.

Does anyone have a cellular one, so you don't need to have your phone with you? It's an extra £60 but it would be even more convenient, if the extra phone plan doesn't cost too much

I have this. I rarely used it but it was always extremely helpful to be there. Especially if I left my phone at home as it didn't really matter. It does drain the battery even more tho.

You have to be on one of the main carriers to use it... o2, ee and Vodafone. The issue is that I moved away to Tesco mobile and now can't use it. You also have to pay the phone network for a contract on it. O2 were £5 a month. Probably more now.

PureGoldLeaf · 26/03/2023 19:44

How I wish I had researched properly 🤣 @cannaecookrisotto . I had a Charge3 for years and loved it, especially the charging frequency!

PriamFarrl · 26/03/2023 19:48

I’d forgotten about paying with it. I do it all the time. I never use my cards, phones or cash. I use it to pay for the underground in London. I’ve also used it for train tickets and plane boarding passes. Anywhere you can pay with a contactless card you can use it.

Idlechitchat · 26/03/2023 19:50

I love mine! I have a series 6. I swim a few times a week and use it to count laps, but also to track other excercise. It is a shame that the battery doesn’t last longer but I’m not bothered about tracking sleep so I just put it on charge when I go to bed. I like that I can see my notifications without getting my phone out it’s so handy when at work or out and about. I have the cellular one so it’s a good back up if I’ve ever forgotten my phone. I think it looks nice too and wear it with a dressier strap if I’m going out somewhere nice.

FawnFrenchieMum · 26/03/2023 19:52

I love mine and wouldn’t be without it now. Mine is an older one. Can’t remember exactly which one.
it does need charging every day, but only takes 20-30 mins so can be put on whilst getting ready in the morning.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 26/03/2023 20:12

I've got one- the battery lasts fine and it's a series 3 so not super new. I do loads more exercise since I had one and would be lost without it

My latest series takes 45-50 mins to charge daily.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 26/03/2023 20:14

To add, the other night I fell asleep with mine on so charged it in the half hour it took to get ready for work

tobee · 26/03/2023 20:19

I bought one for my Christmas present to myself. It's a cheap one.

It's quite bossy. I just got into bed the other night and it told me to "stand up" 😝

MrNook · 26/03/2023 20:21

I've had one and much prefer my Fitbit versa 3

determinedtomakethiswork · 26/03/2023 20:25

Do any of you use the fall notification?

MrNook · 26/03/2023 20:26

Pressed post too soon, I get notifications when I have texts and Facebook messenger notifications, I can pay using contactless on it, track my sleep and my steps, pair it with my Fitbit scales, you can get notified about an irregular heart rate, it has Alexa and Google Assistant and the battery lasts 3-4 days whereas my Apple Watch I had to charge every day

FawnFrenchieMum · 26/03/2023 20:46

determinedtomakethiswork · 26/03/2023 20:25

Mine is switched on. Only come up once, I hadn’t fallen but banged my arm i think.

kingsleysbootlicker · 26/03/2023 20:47

I thought about getting one a couple of months ago but ended up getting a Fitbit Sense 2 instead. It does everything the latest Apple watch does except the fall detection which i don't need, but is half the price and the battery lasts 5 days rather than less than one

TakeMyStrongHand · 26/03/2023 20:56

determinedtomakethiswork · 26/03/2023 20:25

I turned it off as I once dropped/flopped on the floor after a workout and it said it was calling. Although I was thinking perhaps it would notify the police if I had a crash (thinking it was a fall) so might turn it back on.

h78 · 26/03/2023 20:56

I just upgraded from a 3 to the series 8. I would say it can run for a couple of days on full charge. Compared to my old one this one charges within a much shorter time.

tinofbeans · 26/03/2023 21:00

I've had mine 2 weeks. I got an SE 44mm screen and love it. Charge lasts 2 days and it's fab. I thought the 40mm screen would be too small, but actually it would have been fine and the 44mm is borderline too big.

JoanDarc · 26/03/2023 21:04

I’ve got a series 6 with connected GPS, I absolutely love it, have had it for 18 months. I moved from garmin as wanted to be able to run without my phone and still make calls, I pay extra on my phone contract but it’s worth it for me.
I exercise most days sometimes a gym session and run on same day and it’s absolutely fine for battery life including playing music, I do need to charge it nightly though, whereas my garmin would be 5 days without a charge.
Apple pay is brilliant and much easier than the android alternative, also GPS launches immediately whereas I found my garmin could take a few mins sometimes.
For those saying they can’t get a days battery life, I would imagine it must be much older watches. Fitbits etc don’t even come close for functionality so not comparing like with like.

Nextlevelnonsense · 26/03/2023 21:17

I have a series one, and just bought a new battery to replace the original.
Have used it daily, since release.
I charge overnight, but still think it's amazing.

My daughter has now requested one for her 21st, so I'm starting to think I might possibly get another newer model.......

tobee · 26/03/2023 21:28

Mines quite strange on the workout front; the other day I had a notification on it saying I'd obviously been working out and a swimming icon. I'd been in the shower washing my hair 🤔
