What three things do most people In your life now not know about you?

I’m talking about friends rather than close family, DH etc.
friend and I were just talking about all the little quirks people have and the interesting experiences in their past which they might not share now because they don’t think about them or they just wouldn’t come up (or they might not want to!)

I didn’t think I really had any but actually:

1. I published three erotic fiction books when I was younger (cannot bring myself to read them now I think I’d die of embarrassment)

2. I can’t point my toes or scrunch my toes as I broke them without realising doing ballet and they knitted together incorrectly. I don’t wear certain styles of sandals as they are a bit mishapen because of this.

3. I lost my virginity to someone who is now very well known but obviously wasn’t then

there’s probably an awful lot more but my brain is blank. Curious to see other peoples - not fishing for secrets, just things that don’t really come up in conversation!

Some of mine are similar to yours.

I write fanfiction on Wattpad and bloody love it.

I lost my virginity under a willow tree.

I have some disgusting habits.

Sounds romantic doesn't it? But it really wasn't, it was a drunken shag with a guy I knew from the pub when I was younger and I've regretted it ever since. I'm much better behaved now 😁

I've been unfaithful in previous relationships.

I also write smutty fanfiction.

I'm much more selfish than people think.

I am loving all the closet writers.

That I have written a childrens book under a pen name. Its taken me years and I am about to publish it
That I tried for years to live in the countryside but now I do I want to move.

The surprising one is the emtaphobia. It's massive in my life. I've had therapy and cbt and no body knows. (Neither worked)

in my youth I was a bit of a tart (joke but you know what I mean)

that I can’t stand most people (people pleaser but I don’t really like how people are so I avoid if I can) I can’t stand how controlling and opinionated people are

I took a lot of acid trips in my 20s.

I conceived my second child by means of a turkey baster.

I once deliberately vandalised my school toilets by flooding them.

I cheated on someone I went on to marry (and then divorce). I don't regret the cheating, I do regret the marriage to the alcoholic.

That I used to work for a company that made porn videos - its front was a printing company.

That I occasionally helped out with the filming of said porn films. Very amature stuff.

That said company was raided by the police and featured on a Roger Cook investigates program back in the day!

There are more but they are the most interesting.

I was unfaithful to my first husband. I've regretted it every day since and have felt utter shame about it for the last 30 years.

Oh great thread OP! Mine would be:

1. I was horrifically emotionally and physically abused as a child.
2. I have total imposter syndrome and think everyone hates me and I’ll be found out for being a fraud one day.
3. I took drugs regularly in my 20’s (don’t any more)

Mine are incredibly boring by comparison to some on here.

1. I am quite religious. People don't believe me even if I actually tell them! I try to live by my beliefs and I think I give off religious vibes, but apparently not.
2. I have social anxiety and panic in crowded places. Only DH knows that.
3. I am not particularly clever. People think I am, but I am not. I got through to a good uni and graduated with a decent but that was through effort, not natural intelligence. I struggle with some things in maths, political and economic theory etc and basic vocab in the language I have a degree in (language and politics degree). I also couldn't tell you many names of people in the cabinet / shadow cabinet. I think I am empathetic irl and that reads as intelligent

30 years ago I worked on a sex line as a second job, I originally went to interview for a tarot line, but found them so depressing and abusive as people who were suicidal, grieving etc were paying £12 a minute to hear utter crap. So I did the sex line as it was the same company and felt no pity for the literal wankers that would ring up.
Nobody would ever guess that of me.
It was utterly utterly vile though.
