I love looking at beauty threads/forums etc, no idea why as I'm pretty basic but I like looking at pretty things I suppose. But lordy I hate that claw thing that some people do to show their nails off, particularly when it's accompanied by a carefully pulled down jumper sleeve for that oh so cosy charm.

Also hate the term 'the ick', so ridiculous to hear adults talk like that.

Yes this is light-hearted, no it doesn't matter and no it doesn't really affect me. Just some weekend nonsense.

I don’t get why you’re including blameless celery along with things people do/say that irritate you? I mean, I hate celery too, but it’s not like it’s sitting in my fridge doing pouty duckface selfies or talking about taking ‘spends’ on its ‘holibobs’.

May I add...."hoovering" with anything other than an actual Hoover! I keep my nails nice,neat,dark plum polish atm, can't stand ridiculous overlong claws. (They give me the ick😂😂)

Well I thought I would include an inanimate object so that I don't sound like a total people hater (which I probably am). 😏And if ever there's a thread about things people despise, celery is the first thing that comes into my head. It's almost like a phobia!

Yes to the ick, sounds so childlike coming out of an adult mouth.

The bent leg photo pose. What's that all about? When it's a big group, it looks like they are poised ready to do the can can.
If your legs are short, fat, long or thin, they will still look exactly that even when bent.

Tongue out photos. Again, why? I just don't get it.

It is awful stuff. It’s the smell and the stringiness… the way it feels when you chop it. Ugh. For me, it’s sister in awfulness is sultanas added to grated carrot salad — whose idea was that? Revolting!

My DD decided she would eat celery when her sense of taste and smell disappeared with covid. She said even the texture made it utterly repellant and inedible.

Raw celery is disgusting.

Claw nails are vile though I take comfort from the thought that every time they have a poo they must spend time picking poo out from under their talons.

I hate the ick. I hate “my truth”. I hate photos of a carefully manicured hand, partially-obscured-by-a-burned-orange-jumper clutching a cardboard coffee cup. And I HATE celery.

The thing is with the word the ick, it is a short way of describing a certain feeling. We don’t have another word for it! I think it’s a useful word.

But I agree - extra awful when they seem to have dipped their hand in water or something for the photo and the claw nails are all drippy and shiny.
