The previous thread filled up fast, so here's another one with a reasonably topical title!

Both Rayner and Black had Raab squirming.

L1ttledrummergirl · 29/03/2023 12:12

Raynes is asking about rape statistics. He's saying the conviction rate has gone up so they are doing well. Ignoring the other statistics.
He's so full of shit. He's just said "the rapes are coming down".

I think it is important to remember that Raab is the guy who thinks that misogyny against men is bad.

Oh God, I’d forgotten about that. 😂

I don't even know which lie to choose from

t's time to vote for LIE OF THE MONTH ... the winner of March's competition goes through to the LIE OF THE YEAR grand final in December, so choose wisely.
Which LIE OF THE WEEK wins in March? (Lies repeated below in )

They are all pretty egregious but Braverman's billions was designed to frighten people in to supporting her spending £££££ of taxpayer cash on an unworkable policy & Sun/Telegraph headlines whilst distracting us from the mess they've made of the Home Office.
So that got my vote!

pointythings · 29/03/2023 16:27

They're all hideous, but I'm going with Suella on principle.

Yeah, I voted for Braverman as well

Blossomtoes · 29/03/2023 17:36

I did too. 60% went for Johnson though.

Just goes to show how popular he still is.
He always has my vote, because he got Brexit done, but Jeremy Corbyn and from great experience knows what a woman is.

Maybe the will pay for it with the money thet get from fining beggars

Suella Braverman plans to announce new fines of up to £1000 for begging.

Which vulnerable group will they go after next.

How exactly does she plan on making that work?

Someone begging = broke.

Cost of court. Cost of legal aid. For what? A payment plan they can't actually pay?

Just because someone begs doesn't mean they'll get given stuff.

DuncinToffee · 29/03/2023 19:47

I just filled in a council survey on ASB, no questions about begging or laughing gas.

The plan is to get certain sections of the electorate, shall we say all excited.

I went for Chris Philp's Police lie because it affects every one of us. I read somewhere that 96% of burglaries are not investigated. And in over half the country there have been no convictions in burglary whatsoever.

Luckily the government is talking of introducing a new law that would allow the victims of crimes such as burglaries to challenge the CPS decision not to prosecute, thus wasting more of everyones time.

Roussette · 29/03/2023 21:20

More time wasting, yes

This is interesting poll. Favourability of political parties. Tories in the toilet

I don't suppose that will be in their little book of links to whatabout with.

Notonthestairs · 30/03/2023 18:35

Yes please

The Conservatives are stepping up their candidate selection process - triggering speculation that Rishi Sunak could call a general election in spring next year.
Party chairman Greg Hands has told MPs that their operation is being “accelerated” in key seats.

(Caveat- not early enough)

Notonthestairs · 30/03/2023 18:35

Piggywaspushed · 30/03/2023 18:31

Yes I've seen that. Authorised to use force against children.
Braverman is probably thrilled.

L1ttledrummergirl · 30/03/2023 18:37

Whoever came up with that policy is sick in the head and needs sectioning. It's disgusting.

L1ttledrummergirl · 30/03/2023 18:38

A year is a year too long.

Notonthestairs · 30/03/2023 18:45

Don't forget they have to wait until next Spring for a GE so they can bin all the leftover eu compliant legislation (that we helped write and had a veto over).
