I meant, of course CAN’T be precis-ed down to a 2 hour film or even an 8 episode show. There’s just too much in all of Jilly’s luscious books that gets left out, which is a shame.

The casting of Maud and Declan is perfect. The rest not so much. I'll still be watching though.

I never had Aiden Turner down as Declan - Declan is supposed to be a towering dark giant with wild curly hair and a craggy face that lights up when he smiles! AT isn't tall enough!

What novels? You can't mean Jilly Cooper's because she describes him - often - as blonde and aristocratic looking, blue eyes, chiselled Roman nose etc!

I mean he's gorgeous and far more my type than the real RCB would have been, but he's nothing like the source material.

i also think Florence Pugh is very Jilly Cooper heroine but not quite sure who she would be.

PinkPondQueen -maybe Harry and Meghan will get Netflix to film this as an add-on to his 'expert' polo documentary and starring themselves in the lead roles!
Cannot see Alex Hassell as RCB tho - I'm sure he is a fine looking fella, but the photo of him and the (leashed, non-Labrador) dogs looks like Desperate Dan.
Agree with earlier posters who suggested James Norton. Or the time travellers proposing Mark Greenstreet. My own time-travel casting for RCB would be the late Robert Addie, swoon.....

One character was really mean about one of Ruperts dogs accused him of using it for digging out lairs or something because the dog was ugly not the prettiest .

Rupert said that about Gertrude, Taggie's lovely mongrel with the curly tail. His later attempts at wooing Taggie were partly about being much more complementary to Gertrude.

And he always had a mixed pack of jack russells, spaniels and Blue, the lurcher, as well a lab so that is correct. No way would they all be on leads tho.

Ahh yes it sounds a Rupert comment rather than a Taggie one ( I thought it was when she interuppted Rupert and Sarah Strattons Nude Tennis because he'd set fire to his fields of stubble and she was raging that he had endangered wildlife)
