Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there!
I am a single mum to a five year old and was just so proud of her. She made me a latte with our coffee machine, surprised me with two homemade cards, and my dad popped over to help her make me breakfast in bed.

Ahh that is lovely. I am blessed with 3 children and the offerings vary.

The older two make a big effort the younger one is a young teen and currently lives in quite a self absorbed world but I think will grow to be a good citizen eventually.

my oldest lives two hours away but sent me a cute moondog card. I do feel loved and noticed.

my middly lives with me and is appreciative on the daily.

My DD last weekend went to the supermarket to get a few things for me. She came back with an early bunch of flowers for me too. Flowers
This is particularly fab as she has been battling with anxiety for around 3 years so going alone to a supermarket, carry a basket previously touched by others etc is a great achievement.

My favourite bit of Mother’s Day is the home made stuff the kids make; the pride and excitement from them has made my day

Neither of mine have any real comprehension of Mother’s Day - DS2 is five months old and DS1 is 5 (non verbal, really not clear what he understands). Eldest gave me a full half hour cuddle while watching Monsters Inc together on the sofa 😁 that’s more than enough for me.

My son is 6 with special needs and didn’t know it was Mother’s Day when he woke up this morning and came into my bed for cuddles and told me how wonderful and lovely and kind and beautiful I am. That’s the best gift ever ❤️

I have 5 DCs and had 5 homemade cards, and one shop bought card which they all wrote and signed.
One little gift DH bought for them to give me.
One is drying my hair after my shower, one made me a cup of tea, one is walking the dog.
Lovely morning so far, and they all did their own breakfast.

Have a lovely day all!

Sadly DD14 hasn’t bothered at all for the last few years. I got “ Happy Mothers Day by the way” called upstairs before she went out for a walk. Same with our birthdays, Christmas & Father’s Day. Not even a card😢

My dd made this for me at school. I’m absolutely chuffed to bits and nearly cried because of how lovely it is. She’s 10 next week.

Woke up to the smell of an amazing slow cooked lamb that spouse put in last night after I’d gone to bed.

now having my usual lie in with face mask.

kids (7 and 3) have been up to bed to give me their cards (also signed by our dog 😂) and an amazing gift spouse sought out - which is habanero chilli kit which is precisely what my chilli loving tongue needs!

roast lamb to look forward to for later :)

My 5 year old made the effort to remember my favourite flowers when he heard it was nearly mother's day, and told his Daddy which ones to buy. He also gave me some of his artwork and asked Daddy to help him make me breakfast in bed. It's all on his initiative and I'm very impressed.

I’m so grateful to be able to have my children every day since the death of my best friend left her children without her.

Last year I was quite angry that she wasn’t here to have her Mother’s Day.

So if anyone hasn’t had what they expected just remember how lucky we all are really.

DS went out with DH yesterday to buy food to make dinner tonight. I’m vegetarian (they are not) and I’ve noticed it is all veggie food. 😋

Happy Mother's Day everyone. I won't be seeing my 2 today. One is working but I've got dinner plans with her midweek, and the other is in the forces away at the moment.
I'll hear from them no doubt in our lovely group chat. That's plenty for me.

Not to say they don't love you though , I've one who never gives cards and they are the most loving, gentle soul you could get
You've raised a child who is comfortable in their own skin
Own it, it's down to good parenting

DD who is 4 made a card and a decorated biscuit at nursery (she is kindly letting me share that with her later) and she also went out with her dad yesterday and bought me a Jemimia Puddleduck mug and some cherry liquor chocolates 😄

Best thing was her big smile and hug though this morning as she was so proud of her card.

We're off to the park to fly a kite and jave a coffee at the cafe.

Ds17 is still in bed, as am I, but ds14 has been in with a cup of coffee, a homemade card and a plant. "It's got a cool name, it sounds a bit like a shape"
Rhododendron?! 😄

I was woken up at 6.30 with 7yo & 5yo staring at me in excitement 🤣
They (with daddy's help) had done me a treasure hunt with chocolates at the end. I also got cards that they made at school plus a shop bought card with the loveliest pictures. DH is working in a restaurant today, so he is out for a 12 hour shift, but he gave me flowers and a card before he left. I am feeling very lucky and very loved 😊

Big shout out to all those working in restaurants today, it's one of the busiest days of the year and they will be run ragged. If you're going out for a meal today then please be kind to the staff ✌️

DD made me a card at Brownies, DS made me one at school. They're beautiful! They also made me a card each at home, with DM's help. Well, DD didn't need any help but DM provided the craft bits, from my craft drawers! They both worked really hard on them all and they're lovely.

I'm getting a bunch of flowers too. They're in the kitchen but I haven't been officially presented with them yet, so I'm pretending I haven't seen them. DH was very keen that he should be the one to pop to the supermarket to pick up some bits we needed yesterday, and now I know why Grin
