……And I shall retire in 2 years despite being only 52 as my DH has already given 32 years to this country as a soldier at war and a police officer who gets paid badly, hasn’t had a pay rise in years but isn’t allowed to strike and frequently gets spat at, kicked and punched and sometimes shot at. We shall go off in to the sunset together and never work again!

I think the point is that however much is in your pension, those of us who are younger expect the law to change so we can't get it until we're well beyond current retirement age. The 55 rule clearly isn't staying.

Saving for retirement doesn't all have to be in a pension. A fifth of mine is in ISA (stocks and shares) which I can take at any time, so that would fill the gap. Though as I'm 55 this year the new age rule doesn't impact me.

Dear Jeremy,
Cheers for introducing extra funded childcare to start at the same time my youngest starts school so I see zero difference.

I'm actually really pleased they've finally extended funded nursery hours but also gutted to have missed out.

The only people who’ll benefit are those who conceive their kids from December 2024 onwards.
The childcare changes will be very unlikely to come to fruition as they are literally a vote winner & not set in stone.
Getting Brexit done all over again 😂
