Do you think the different colours of mini eggs taste different? DH and I can’t agree.

You need to set up a double bling test. Get someone else to put pairs into envelopes, put a code on them and hand them to DH. He has to wear a blindfold after noting the code. He then administers each pair to you and notes the results.

Time consuming but report back on your findings.

The brown one has a slightly chemically taste. Still eat it though!

If you're talking about the Cadbury's mini eggs, then yes they all taste the same - bloody awful. M&S speckled eggs are much nicer and roughly the same price. Oh - and they all taste the same too😅

The brown tastes more of cocoa powder, the yellow tastes nicer. The other colours taste the same. Always have so its not down to changed ingredients.

BUT!

Many years ago I did a psychology degree and I eagerly volunteered to take part in a particular experiment. The experiment was testing how seeing food impacts on what we taste. I was asked to eat different chocolate - white, milk and dark. Initially I ate the chocolate and was allowed to look at it. I then did a survey about my experience. Then I had a drink, sat around for a bit, and got asked to do the same thing only this time I was blindfolded. I could not tell the difference between milk and white, they tasted the same. The dark tasted different but not as different as it did when I could see it……. I was amazed at just how influential looking at it was! There was also a jelly experimentation, they changed the colour of some jelly so that it didn’t match the flavour - strawberry was lime green etc. again ‘pink strawberry’ tasted strawberry, green tasted more like a odd lime/strawberry. It was fascinated and yummy to be a participant!…. I imagine something similar happens with mini eggs and smarties!

Interesting - I also think the yellow are superior, but the others all taste the same. DH can’t tell the difference.
