I’ve no idea what photo has been faked from that footage but Braverman standing there like some dystopian game show host is bad enough.

IClaudine · 19/03/2023 18:23

There is something really wrong with her.

She talks like she's opening a new Butlins or something.

As it is... the political situation is very volatile... this from an article...

"Michela Wrong, a British journalist and author of a recent book on Rwanda, Do Not Disturb: The Story of a Political Murder and an African Regime Gone Bad, said the timing of Braverman’s visit was “grotesque”.
“Rwanda and DRC are on the brink of all-out war. The M23 guerrilla group, a Rwandan proxy, has sent 600,000-800,000 Congolese villagers fleeing their homes and Braverman is happily validating the African leader widely recognised to be responsible for the destabilisation of the African Great Lakes.
“Britain should be discussing slapping sanctions on Rwanda – it is the only message Kagame responds to - rather than planning to send migrants there.”

I posted it but deleted it because I don't think it is @IClaudine

However, there is one out there (searched but can't find it at the moment!) showing a different but real version of that. Much smaller etc.

She's in a bit of trouble here...

twitter.com/JolyonMaugham/status/1637386541570965507

Legally she cannot hand pick who she takes in the way of media outlets, and who she doesn't. Explained in the tweet above.

It's just endless ignore the possible legal aspects and worry about any consequences after; as long as we get the messages and distractions we want across to the right demographic.

What's Suella Braverman's profession again?

I'm torn between moron and rabble rouser.

It's interesting that the guidance cited puts the onus on civil service media officers to ensure that all media outlets are invited. I struggle to believe that a media officer decided off his or her own bat to exclude media which are perceived to be less sympathetic to government policies, so what's the betting that it was Braverman herself who vetoed the invitations?

Braverman admiring a model of a concentration camp.

She was admiring the Rwandan refugee camp model instead, the one you can see at the end of the video.

@Roussette That’s awful. We can pretty much guarantee that the government won’t be putting any sanctions (or at least any meaningful ones) on the Rwandan government as they need them onside to accept all (200) of our asylum seekers.

Not content to ruin the lives of people seeking asylum here and trafficked here, they’re also happy to be complicit in supporting this destabilisation and the lives that will cost in the DRC and Rwanda.

Add in to the mix that Rwanda also has form for “mobilising” refugees as soldiers in these conflicts and it’s just unconscionable all the way through.

Roussette · 19/03/2023 18:48

When Theresa May criticises the plan, we know we're in trouble with it.

Oh yes, saw that on Twitter earlier. Was just checking it wasn't the one I posted.

I'm sure she selected the news outlets in conjunction with Levido - get the coverage they pay for AND get coverage for excluding unsupportive media - win win in their book.

But we know from her track record that if push comes to shove she will happily blame anyone else - reminds me of Johnson.

LittleBowSheep · 19/03/2023 21:46

Has the photo of Cruella Braverman laughing her head off outside the detention centre also photoshopped? Sorry, I'm confused.

No. It's cropped not photoshopped. Original photo had people either side of her.

Definitely not photoshopped apart from the size of it.

This is going to haunt her I think. Apparently CCHQ has asked the press pack not to display this picture of her.

Tough. I've retweeted it more than once. We need to know what we are having to deal with.

@Notonthestairs @Roussette
Thank you. I didn't see the 'other' photo but even the one I'm referring to is so bad that it had me thinking that it must have been shopped. I mean, surely she's not that stupid. Oh, yes, I forgot...she is.

Roussette · 19/03/2023 22:31

It's all tactics isn't it, sadly some will love it.

Strange isn't it ...whilst in Rwanda she calls them "refugees" but when she's here she calls them "illegal immigrants" 😮🥴

I've just come across this on twitter:
twitter.com/dontbrexitfixit/status/1637374853689876481?s=19

It appears the conservatives are sending out what looks like postal vote application forms, only with their office as the return address. They say in the small print they won't share the data with anyone, it will be used for their information.

Something seems off about this.

I thought we could only send 200 a year for processing there and only those who are granted asylum stay?

Notonthestairs · 20/03/2023 07:55

I'm getting very irritated with some of the reporting re: Johnson-Lockdown Parties.

It's an investigation to discover whether the PM misled Parliament and if it was whether the record was corrected promptly.

They aren't investigating whether there were parties - we already know that bit!

www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-64970708

Fifteen years of wage stagnation has left British workers £11,000 worse off per year, according to research shared exclusively with BBC Panorama.

The figures come from the Resolution Foundation think tank, which focuses on low-to-middle income households.

It also found typical UK household incomes have fallen further behind those in Germany. In 2008, the gap was over £500 a year, now it is £4,000.

Don't forget she also said 'millions' of refugees coming to the UK

She just adds a few zeros for effect, facts, truth don't matter.
