Misheard lyrics....

Well I was born in the late 80's and I've only just realised the song lyric isnt;

"She's got better days aside"
Its she's got "Bette Davies eyes"

I recently realised I'd misheard the lyrics to "Hair" by Little Mix, which plays quite often on Heart Radio when I'm in the car.

The actual lyric is "he was just a dick and I knew it" but for months I'd been singing (loudly and with full confidence) "he was just a dick in a new wig".

The Gene Cotton song “Me and the elephant” (will never forget you) has a first verse that I misheard.
It’s “We went down to the city zoo,
Just to kill an hour or two
In the good sunshine”
But it sounds like “Just to kill an owl or two”.
Which turns a beautiful sad song about being unable to forget his lost love, into a mad ditty about a couple of psychopathic bird murderers!
