Most eaten vegetable(s) in your house?

Given the news stories about the availability of vegetables, we have just had a discussion about which vegetables we'd struggle to give up.

Mushrooms. We are a family of mushroom lovers! Luckily, we can grow those at home all year round.

What about in your house?

Peppers

MyBloodyMaryneedsmoreTabasco · 26/02/2023 13:12

Probably broccoli. Depends on the meals that week though, I have self imposed rules about what veg with what meal Confused

Appleblum · 26/02/2023 13:14

Tomatoes. But someone's going to come along in a minute and say they don't count as they're fruits 😅

Cherry tomatoes as well usually but i haven't been able to buy them for 2 weeks, I switched to salad tomatoes but now I can't get those either.

DorotheaHomeAlone · 26/02/2023 13:18

Peas.

CallMeVal · 26/02/2023 13:19

Broccoli and green beans.
They’re my lazy, steamed veg option that go with a lot of quick dinners.

We eat a lot of peppers and tomatoes, too.

theplasticbagprincess · 26/02/2023 13:20

Tomatoes 🍅 obviously technically a fruit, but struggling already with one very fussy eater who this is almost their entire fruit/veg intake 😬

Potatoes
Broccoli
Cucumber
Peppers
Onions

I would be unhappy without a much wider range, but my kids are fussy and only really eat a couple of veg anyway (plus tomatoes)
We would really struggle without potatoes the most.

MajorCarolDanvers · 26/02/2023 13:20

Onion
Pepper
Tomatoes
Peas
Broccoli

AnonymousArabella · 26/02/2023 13:22

Carrots, broccoli and cucumber. DS especially is a cucumber fiend & easily goes through 3-4 a week. Still managing to get them atm but he might have a shock coming soon.

theplasticbagprincess · 26/02/2023 13:23

Forgot about 🥕 carrots
Definitely need the carrots!

Theoldwoman · 26/02/2023 13:23

Broccoli and cauliflower

JettersonStokes · 26/02/2023 13:23

Peppers, onions, green beans, tender stem broccoli, tomatoes, courgettes

Went to Aldi this morning, they had loose red peppers and I only bought 2. I usually get 2 packs of 3 (red, yellow, orange) because I didn't want other people to go without. There were no tomatoes at all. Makes me wonder whether I should start to grow my own veg again as the children are much older now.

MrsRinaDecker · 26/02/2023 13:24

Onions, peppers, tomatoes (fresh and tinned), broccoli.

MarshaBradyo · 26/02/2023 13:24

Carrots
Peppers
Potatoes

And I really go for it on
cauliflower
mushrooms
and tenderstem broccoli
as low carb

PhillyJoe · 26/02/2023 13:25

Vegetable is any edible part of a plant.

Fruit is something that has its seeds on the inside. So all fruits are also vegetables.
