Northumberland/Blythe for holiday?

I just booked a wee getaway for here in July, little 3 bed apartment.

I've told 2 people and they both sort of laughed.

Is it not a good place for a family get away? TBH it was cheap for us so I just booked it without much research.

Is there stuff to do??

@midgemadgemodge Sad to say but much of the touristy area up here has become massively gentrified with the aim of attracting affluent holiday makers from down south as the numerous threads about the area on MN testify. Prices have risen accordingly to being almost ridiculous. Same has happened to Whitby and the east coast. We were looking for 2-3 nights there and it's almost unaffordable for the likes of us...

Seafield Holiday Park in Seahouses has an offer of 7 nights for the price of 4 other than in peak summer holiday period which would put it in your price bracket. Its well located for Alnwick and Bamburgh and has a really nice club with a pool and spa (Ocean Club) for site residents to use. There are also a lot of cottages in Lucker close to Bamburgh although they may be a little over budget.

I can't see that offer?

@Holibobbins - just looked and the offer expired on 31 January - might be worth giving them a ring and asking though on the grounds of "don't ask don't get".....
