Do you do Easter decorations?

So we do Christmas decorations, and a little bit of halloween (trying to add every year a little bit, but it's not much still - I am not v good at styling/decorating) oh, and yes, bunting on DC birthdays, but that's it really. Do you do Easter decorations? What/how much? When do you put it out, for how long? Just curious.

MIL has a branch hanging from her wall that she hangs things on according to the season.

BuddhaAtSea · 22/02/2023 05:28

Yes, I do. I get a couple of branches and hang eggs on them, and I put them in the window. I collected them over the years, they’re glass.
I have a glass jar for sweets and I fill it with mini Easter eggs.
Have never done the wreath thing though, although I love it on other people’s doors, looks so happy.
I’m not religious though.

No. Definitely not. But then I'm a busy person and I don't have Instagram.

Sometimes an Easter tree with branches and little eggs. Rarely an Easter garden.

Stoechas · 22/02/2023 05:52

I have a small selection of wooden decorated eggs that I have collected over many years which I hang on a few branches in a vase.

Usually hang them up on Good Friday and take them back down on Easter Monday .

Gosh this is sneery.

I'm a busy person, I don't do any social media and I do spring decorations.

watchfulwishes · 22/02/2023 06:12

As I was saying, not specifically much for Easter but we do spring decorations since one of the kids decided to quite a number of years ago. They then stay up.

We are a crafty family so have got various things we made, mostly flower-related.

IDontDrinkTea · 22/02/2023 06:15

I do a few bits, we started in lockdown because it was something to pass the time (Easter related crafts that we put up round the house) and now my daughter asks to do them every year since

Sleepyblueocean · 22/02/2023 06:34

We have a wooden seasonal tree and the spring/ easter decorations go on in March. It started off because ds is autistic and doesn't cope with the sudden appearance of a Christmas tree so we have a tree (our only tree) all year round.

EasterlyDirection · 22/02/2023 06:35

Yes, despite being a busy person. We have a vase of twigs with wooden eggs, a front door wreath, bunting in the front window and on the fireplace. Takes all of 10 mins to put it out and away again.

SpangoDweller · 22/02/2023 06:38

The dining table is usually set with appropriately Easter/spring flowers and some wooden eggs, from Good Friday to Easter Monday. Nothing else though. I do like the idea of a branch with eggs.

tuvamoodyson · 22/02/2023 06:39

I’m also a busy person not on Instagram, I manage to hang some Easter decorations on twigs on a vase, and take 5 seconds out of my busy day to put up a wreath in my porch!

TheLastDreamOfTheOak · 22/02/2023 06:40

I do loads. Almost as much as Christmas at this point just as I've added stuff over the years. I actually prefer Easter to Christmas as you get the family and food bits without any pressure to buy presents, plus it's feels a bit more optimistic and happier as it's Spring.

I have a huge Easter tree thing that I made out of branches which I bought back from the woods and spray painted white. I've got tons of waste ornaments I've collected and it looks really sweet. Plus lots of other bits and bobs. I love it!

wibblewobbleball · 22/02/2023 06:41

I'm also a busy person Grin but we have a tradition of about 15 / 20 people over for Easter Sunday lunch so I've always decorated a bit and have added to what I have over the years so now have a nice collection of spring like decorations, plus Easter egg hunt signs/decorations etc. I don't decorate for Halloween other than whack a pumpkin outside if the kids have done one, because we don't really do anything significant around then in terms of socialising ditto Bonfire night.

GlassBunion · 22/02/2023 06:44

Yes , a branch with little decorations on them.
Also a bowl of 'pisanki' - painted/carved wooden eggs from Eastern Europe a tradition, as my family is from there.

Ndd135632 · 22/02/2023 06:48

A little egg wreath in the kitchen. A branch with little egg decorations hung on. Those silly little chicks fly around the house. A bag of chocolate eggs for the kids. And an Easter egg hunt on the Sunday in the house with mini eggs.

TheClitterati · 22/02/2023 06:50

I have a porcelain Easter rabbit about a foot high. He's still out by the front door after last Easter. So I guess no....

I love the idea of making a spring wreath but we are going away this year.

BooksAndHooks · 22/02/2023 06:56

Yes we do. White tree with eggs, kids have Easter teddies and books that come out, floral wreath and a garland on the fireplace.

All depends when Easter is. This year I’ll put it up just before kids break up for Easter holidays.

Soonenough · 22/02/2023 07:01

Yes, lots. Always did as I decorate for most holidays . Just a tradition I have as had DCs around that enjoyed it . Have a twig tree that I hang eggs that I have collected over the years . Wreath, few bits around the house. It is not particularly time consuming and brings me pleasure , so why not.
The DCs will like it too. So many cheap bits available now in Aldi , Lidl. Let them draw stuff and put them up .
PS @KickHimInTheCrotch I did this before Insta while having a FT job and two DCs

mycatsanutter · 22/02/2023 07:15

I'm always busy but I open the drawer where I put the decorations from the year before take them out and decorate the fire place , take me 5 minutes and looks lovely .

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 22/02/2023 07:21

We make a large papier-mâché boulder and put it at the front door, and then roll it away on Easter Sunday.

CountessLovelace · 22/02/2023 07:21

Making an Easter garden is a lovely activity to do with kids (or without!)
Palm crosses from Palm Sunday
Most churches will have a cross that gets decorated with ribbons and flowers on Easter dawn but I’ve never done one at home

icelollycraving · 22/02/2023 07:23

Yes. I have a different door wreath, I do a twiggy egg tree and sometimes bunny bunting. Dh and Ds just roll their eyes, I think they like it secretly. They certainly like all the chocolate.

Meandfour · 22/02/2023 07:26

KickHimInTheCrotch · 22/02/2023 05:33

No. Definitely not. But then I'm a busy person and I don't have Instagram.

What does Instagram or being busy have to do with anything? Are you too busy to have a tree at Christmas or to arrange your Childrens birthday presents for them the night before their birthday?
What an odd post. I think you were hoping to sound superior but you actually sound like you’re struggling with normal life.

justtry · 22/02/2023 07:29

Thank you all. I think I am inspired! Won't be loads to start with then, but a few branches in a vase with some pastel coloured eggs and something spring-like /flowery on the dining table may be just be a nice touch to add to our living space.
