I feel crap with some random lurgy and I've bought myself a ticket just so I can spend the evening happily dreaming.

First thing would be a trip to Kuoni, followed by engaging a wedding planner (because all the things stopping us wouldn't matter any more) and a trip to the financial advice firm I used to work for (as a lowly admin type) to get them to 'audition' to be my advisors.

Then buy DP and DC all the things I wish I could get them, like a fancy BBQ, a huge dolls house, a real drum kit and sound recording studio and/or art studio...
I'd get a dog. Pay for private healthcare for my parents and in laws who all need an MOT and hire a PA so I don't have to try and do all my tedious and highly stressful life admin any more. A letter had me in tears earlier because it was just the straw that broke the proverbial. No more!

I might also make random anonymous gifts to people I don't know because it would be fun. I love giving and would indulge myself a lot.

Anybody want to join me and dream a little dream before they announce someone in Belgium or Austria as the winner?

Can you imagine logging in and out of your bank account to see all that money in there.
No more saving to buy a cheap second hand runaround car. I'd buy a house and have savings for us and our children. Our extended family would be millionaires too. I'd also give most to charity and do random acts of kindness like you said.

It would help if I'd actually bought a ticket though..

TomatoSandwiches · 17/02/2023 18:28

A nice stone cottage in the countryside with a deep copper bath, a well managed vegetable patch, Berry bushes and an affectionate whippet I would call Bunny.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 17/02/2023 18:31

I have mentally spent a lottery win before, the house, the cars, the holidays. In reality it would cause me major headaches with difficult and entitled family members who would never give in reverse but who would definitely expect.

GwenogJones · 17/02/2023 18:32

I've been looking at a house and thinking how I'd do it up (there is a sad dearth of amazing houses for sale in the area I want right now - but I would make do).

As it's so much money I'd pay off a lot of people's mortgages

And then I'd start thinking about where to go on holiday.

I'd eventually give up work and start to think about maybe self publishing a book.

RoseThornside · 17/02/2023 18:35

Resign from work and refuse to stay longer than my contracted notice. Get builders in straightaway to sort out house. Buy flat in London to escape to at weekends.

Let me add that the decor isnt great Grin

Stepuptowardsinfinity · 17/02/2023 18:41

Looks like a footballer's place! Probably is, given the location.

JuneOsborne · 17/02/2023 18:42

So, I've thought about this a lot. Did you know you have to have a private bank account for it to be deposited into? They won't pay it into your high street current account!

I think this is why people say, oh I bought an iron, or something else insignificant. Because you have to wait for the Dosh!

I'd go somewhere really amazing, hire an amazing villa/penthouse suit in a hotel and hunker down while we made a plan. While drinking champagne.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 17/02/2023 18:42

I'd never go back to work. My family and DH's would never have to worry about money again.

I'd buy some land close to town and build a nice, well thought out little house on on it, with everything we need but no more. The kids would close to their friends and have independence but I'd have room to breathe.

I'd travel the world, but I'd never fly economy again. That would be my main personal luxury. That, and a capable, motherly but no-nonsense housekeeper with a sense of humour.

I'd have a whale of a time giving to charity and changing people's lives as anonymously and magically as possible.

Off to browse houses for a bit now...

ouch321 · 17/02/2023 18:42

I really do think they should have more prizes with lower values. No one needs £68m.

£1m would be life changing for everyone who lives in the real world.

So 68 x £1m

Rather than

1 x £68m

TheYearOfSmallThings · 17/02/2023 18:43

Oh I wish I'd bought a ticket now! I've never actually entered Euromillions.

DP and I both approve. Lovely! And our would be fun to decorate to my own taste, esp size I wouldn't have to prep and clear up myself. I might do the painting though. Love a bit of painting. Just hate the clear up

I dream about this a lot 😂 I would pay all mine and my families/friends debt off, pay off ours and our families mortgages off. Take the kids and the family on a holiday of a lifetime and give up our very stressful jobs. Let’s manifest x

You know you've made it when you have more bathrooms than bedrooms Grin

Theunamedcat · 17/02/2023 18:45

I would buy some land a party field like lord of the rings with a great big tree in it 😁

Fleur405 · 17/02/2023 18:45

My OH and I also spent lunchtime planning what we would do with the money! We think we’d stay in our house but fully pimp it up. We’d have a mansion in Italy with a pool. A London pad for when we want to go to the theatre and a flat near to us for when family want to come and visit (though expect they’ll be more interested in the London pad and Italian mansion….).

obviously we would also share much of it with family.

mumda · 17/02/2023 18:46

Heating up. A second cream egg and an hour on Rightmove.
I'd send the bookshop I love an email to arrange my order.

Wow. There's a photo captioned 'garaging'. Not just a garage, or garages. That's some serious car accommodation, right there.

I mean, I agree. Even £50k would be transformative for us right now. Still wouldn't object if I won the full 68m though!

Well it won't be me. There were no forms at the shop when I went yesterday. I meant to try somewhere else after work lunchtime but I forgot. But I did do the for life one.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 17/02/2023 18:49

@Januaryisthelongestyear

It isn't the house I originally intended linking but one with a similar sounding address that seems to have sold.

Just put Cheshire in and all the ex footballer houses come up, many with very questionable colour schemes.

This one has been up for sale numerous times and is trust me, LESS gaudy then when it was last for sale

justasoul · 17/02/2023 18:51

I would pay the mortgage and get the builders in to do a makeover. Sort my garden out. Buy a couple of new cars to replace the bangers. Help out family - buy my DB a house, pay my DS and DSIL’s mortgages. Sort my nieces out. DD is still a teen but maybe a trust fund of some description? Treat my nan to whatever she’d want to. And I’m sure I’d still have about £65m left at this point Grin
