I feel crap with some random lurgy and I've bought myself a ticket just so I can spend the evening happily dreaming.

First thing would be a trip to Kuoni, followed by engaging a wedding planner (because all the things stopping us wouldn't matter any more) and a trip to the financial advice firm I used to work for (as a lowly admin type) to get them to 'audition' to be my advisors.

Then buy DP and DC all the things I wish I could get them, like a fancy BBQ, a huge dolls house, a real drum kit and sound recording studio and/or art studio...
I'd get a dog. Pay for private healthcare for my parents and in laws who all need an MOT and hire a PA so I don't have to try and do all my tedious and highly stressful life admin any more. A letter had me in tears earlier because it was just the straw that broke the proverbial. No more!

I might also make random anonymous gifts to people I don't know because it would be fun. I love giving and would indulge myself a lot.

Anybody want to join me and dream a little dream before they announce someone in Belgium or Austria as the winner?

My wackiest lottery win dream is buying derelict/doer-upper houses, doing them up and renting them out to people who can’t afford market rates - a one woman housing association of sorts. Then when the value of the house is paid, they can keep the house. I always say to my husband this is why I’ll never be rich Grin

PritiPatelsMaker · 17/02/2023 22:50

Well I don't appear to have had an email saying I've one yet. I'm off to bed in a disappointed huff.

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 17/02/2023 22:51

Just checked. 2 lucky stars so I am the lucky winner of £3.60

PritiPatelsMaker · 17/02/2023 22:53

Nothing here and it's rolled over again.

Soonenough · 17/02/2023 23:18

Love that so many include charity donations. I would buy land and build my dream house bungalow for my impending old age . Employ staff , so no cooking or cleaning ever again. Houses for my DCs , sister, brother . I would stay in my house while building going on , then renovate and maybe donate this one. Set up some funding for women and children organisations . Take nice holidays , 1st class all the way.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 17/02/2023 23:27

Yeah @Deathraystare it wasn't the property I meant to link to, I mistook it for one it looked very like and had a similar address to one which I loved and has in fact been taken down. I don't like the beams either

I would buy the field behind my house to stop it being built on.

Someone did that to the fields behind our house. Some wealthy banker just bought the fields and refuses planning permission but lets the local kids play and build dens. No idea who it is. Apparently he very occasionally turns up to check it's still wild and full of children having the time of their lives.

I'd book into a nice hotel for a week. Order room service all day. Make plans there. I've got loads of things to do with a win, and I'd give most of it away.

feeona123 · 18/02/2023 01:43

First thing I’d do is book into a 5* London hotel and then next would be a fancy gym membership and quit work.

Not sure if my husband would quit work but I’d expect him to go down to 4 days at least.

Don’t think I’d buy a holiday home, just go on some very expensive holidays.

A million would be nice but you can’t get much of a house for that near me so I’m definitely after the £68m 😉

It wasn’t won so over £70m on Tuesday!

Mouldyfoodhelp · 18/02/2023 02:17

I think having more winners is better, but I think what sells the lottery is dreaming of the big wins, winning £1million doesn't really get the creative juices flowing as in all likelihood it would amount to a house, car, holiday and either something like a few houses for income, some basic investments or living just a bit more lavishly for most whilst you watch it dwindle.

That would be brilliant for 68 people and that's what x68 more chances of winning but doesn't get people imagining their big dreams

wineandsunshine · 18/02/2023 02:47

The first thing I would do is pop a million pound cheque through the letterbox to my friend (anonymously). Life has been so cruel to her but she's an amazing, strong woman!

After that, a holiday and a bigger house so my DS's don't have to share a room!

Deathraystare · 18/02/2023 06:16

@feeona123

Well rhR gives me hope!! I must remember ri do it for Tuesday!

Would be good to get out of rented accommodation. However as I stubbornly want to stay in London my searching online for a fantasy home has not gone well. I always find fault with them. I know I could change certain things but unless it is a do=er upper why should I buy a place costing millions and then have to change so much?

MissMarplesbag · 18/02/2023 07:51

Even 5 people sharing 68 million is still a big win as that's over £13 million each.

Hazey19 · 18/02/2023 08:16

I won £2.40 😂

themuminator · 18/02/2023 08:27

I woke up to the email this morning.

Looks like I'm the big winner from last night.. 2 numbers plus 2 bonus = £8.80 😎

As it won't quite stretch to a 5* hotel tonight, a smart London house, and the lovely idea of doing up houses to give to people, I'll put it towards my £720 bill for 4x new tyres instead.

The dream continues for next week.

I won £8.80 too…whoop!
I also meant to say I’d also give a very large donation to my favourite charity…Animal Care in Egypt (ACE)

TimingIsABitch · 18/02/2023 10:38

I’d hire a massive villa in Greece with staff for an entire summer and invite all my favourite people over for a few weeks each. We’d have a chauffeur to take us to nice restaurants each evening and collect the older DC from clubs.

I would have a pied a terre in a chichi terrace in Central London and a managing person to sort food, clothes, cleaning of it.

I’d give each DC on graduating with a good degree a flat to live in.

I would spend the whole of January somewhere amazing like Mauritius or Seychelles or Maldives and then spend April exploring Costa Rica in luxury. Then the same for India, South America and Japan. I’d take family and friends.

Having worked for a charity and seen how much money is pissed up the wall I’d set up my own charitable foundation with staff to ensure money was getting to the right place.

rowlandellis · 18/02/2023 13:10

I’d quietly pay off the car and the mortgage without telling anyone and sit on the money for a year, deciding what I wanted to change about my life, and what I didn’t.

What a wonderful thing it would be…

mumda · 18/02/2023 14:11

@TwinklyShit my original plan was to buy a "very nice" but local new build house a bit further away from where I am now and announce it as a small win on the normal lotto. That'd allow some initial generosity from me to friends but without causing the stress of people wanting a couple of million each.
Then from there upgrade at some point (because picking the perfect millionaire ++ dream home would take a long time) to something forever.
But in the mean time a nicer car and having a slightly more relaxed lifestyle now. I would continue most of the volunteer things I currently do too.

Dymaxion · 18/02/2023 19:16

Very sensible. My life is okayish and would definitely be improved by a significant cash injection, I would buy somewhere to live and a new car, mines on its last legs, but there is a ceiling to the amount of happiness I could 'buy' and its well below the 68million mark.

MissMarplesbag · 18/02/2023 20:53

Don't forget to buy your lottery tickets for next week.

Januaryisthelongestyear · 18/02/2023 23:49

Well that was disappointing. Still, Tuesdays draw I'd 78m now I believe.

Forgot to say. I would also go to one of those European spas for weeks at a time!
