Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first brew of the day in silence, apart from the fridge humming to itself. Bliss!

Today's going to be a day off-ish. There are still a couple of things to do - iron school shirts and a few pots to wash up. I want to check I have everything sorted for Rainbows and Guides on Tuesday evening. & I'll check the girls have done any homework that was set.

Other than that, I plan to do very, very, little. I might spend the day crocheting my blanket unless inspiration to do something else strikes me!

We're having slow cooked gammon for tea 😋not sure whether as a roast or with something else yet.

Tonight, I might do my nails. I quickly filed them before going out for the evening, yesterday but fancy some colour.

What about all of you 🙂

Also planning a quiet one. Have a bit of washing to do but want to get out into the sunshine to walk the dog.

Chicken fajitas for lunch then DH is going away this afternoon for a couple of nights.

Miraculously all cleaning was done yesterday morning. Whoooop

Itwasgoodwhileitlasted · 05/02/2023 09:04

Oh and happy Valley tonight

OldTinHat · 05/02/2023 09:05

Good morning!

I managed not to fall over yesterday so I'm about to go to the next town over for a morning macrame course. I'm really looking forward to it!

I'll pop into the mega supermarket next door to the centre where its being held afterwards and buy some green stuff. I must get back on track with my diet this week!

Have a lovely day 🤗

Washing, Shopping, Allotment. Rugby in pub!

YorkieTheRabbit · 05/02/2023 09:06

I’m currently in bed on my second coffee, DP is reading and our two dogs are snuggled up between us.
Today will consist of hanging pictures, making a cake, cooking a roast beef dinner, chucking rubbish in the skip which is sat on our drive.

parrotonmyshoulder · 05/02/2023 09:07

Bacon butties in a minute when I drag myself out of the bathroom. Food shopping with DS (he thinks it’s a treat). Must go for a walk as the weather is beautiful.
Home cooked pie for tea. Family game afternoon while it’s in the oven.
Most homework done.
Some ironing though and I’m about to get a load of washing on the line.

FindingMeno · 05/02/2023 09:09

Laundry, water plants, and try to sort out shithole mess of a bedroom.

Decafflatteplease · 05/02/2023 09:09

Morning @lucysmam

We've been up for an hour or so, just slowly getting ready, last load of uniform is in the dryer we have 4 lots of uniform to get through each weekend so it's a big task!

. I'm taking one DC to a party and staying with them, everyone else at home doing homework and general pottering. Online food shop coming this morning.

Home for lunch.

This afternoon it's meant to be sunny so we might pop down to the park for an hour get some fresh air.

Also need to squeeze in packing school bags, getting shoes and coats together etc.

I'm about to pop a chicken curry in the slow cooker for dinner with naan and onion bhaijis

Usual Sunday ritual of gin bath kindle then bed.

windyarse · 05/02/2023 09:10

I'm having a massive mug of tea while everyone else sleeps. We have a lot going on just now as one of the DC is moving out this month so there is massive reorganisation going on at home!! I'm tired so will probably take a couple of hours out later and go for a quiet coffee somewhere Smile

dizzygirl1 · 05/02/2023 09:11

Rugby this morning, ironing this afternoon (whilst watching the rugby on tv), shopping delivery, then sausage and mash for dinner and hopefully manage to read my book. Also washing said rugby kit.

AllotmentTime · 05/02/2023 09:12

@OldTinHat was that your cinema trip yesterday? Well done for not falling over 😁

I am waiting for the coffee and then taking it upstairs to have in bed. I’ve been up and done a workout (HIIT and yoga, all short and sweet) and now planning to relax and feel virtuous.

DH is off out shortly. The DC are gaming. I am planning to spend the day on jobs like making sure they do their homework, maybe play outside with them as the weather is nice, and just chill out a bit. Trying to make sure DS gets time spent with us (playing games etc) but also time spent to just do his own thing, because he’s very bad at entertaining himself but is getting better with practice!

DH will be back to cook a roast this evening which is my favourite bit of the week. It’s like our date night 🥰

Cosycover · 05/02/2023 09:16

Had a bad sleep due to sick children. Really hoping they are OK for school as I have a few meetings this week that I can't miss!

Quiet one for today. Have washing and ironing to do.

Might go to the park later if the kids are up to it. And steal the pp idea for a board game afternoon.

I was planning the cinema but the coughs have put paid to that.

PerfectlyImperfectIsMe · 05/02/2023 09:19

Quiet day here too catching up on jobs ready for next week. The sun is shining here so will probably let the kids have a play in the garden later before a nice roast dinner 😊

grayhairdontcare · 05/02/2023 09:19

Prepped today's dinner ( honey mustard chicken)
Prepped tomorrows tea ( chicken balti for the slow cooker)
Prepped overnight oats for tomorrow.
Just having a coffee and sausage butty then going for a walk.
Just filling the day before the last Happy Valley tonight.

ChocHotolate · 05/02/2023 09:25

12 hour shift in a walk in centre for me

Bodybags · 05/02/2023 09:26

SUPER fabulous day today for us!!

Finally finishing decorating after building a wall in the middle of the house!
Building furniture and waiting for delivery of “final touch” items, rugs, cushions, curtain tie backs etc so by the time it’s Happy Valley time tonight, I will be sitting in my little 3 bed semi palace!

Shall need to order a tiara I think. Amazon do tiaras right?

Also, mountain of washing but I bought a new fabric conditioner yesterday so it’s going to smell lush with clothes drying on the radiators.

Love love LOVE my little house after years of not being able to afford to do anything and not having the time. It’s coming together.

Whyisitsososohard · 05/02/2023 09:32

Having coffee and watching the really interesting doc about Thai Street food. We are picking up my nieces to take them to our local art gallery which has an amazing family play space. Might look at the art, but really it's the play space for them! Then lunch at ask. They seem to love it and even eat a bit of veg so works for us!

Later I want to put our Christmas decorations in the loft. We juts moved and it would be good to unpack those from the spare room. But we haven't been up there yet and it's a 2 person job with passing the boxes.

Live these threads! Have a lovely day all

troppibambini6 · 05/02/2023 09:33

Aah that's lovely @Bodybags. Enjoy your palace and a tiara is definitely in order!

I feel a bit jaded this morning as we went out last night. I was on early get up with our new rescue pup this morning.

I've had a tea and a roasted tea cake and I'm debating going back to bed for an hour now dh is up.

Netball later and the boys are competing in Thai boxing tournament.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday

Whyisitsososohard · 05/02/2023 09:33

Oh yes and happy Valley later. We rewatched series 1 and 2 as its so good so reckon we can do series 3 this week if we out out minds to it.

Whyisitsososohard · 05/02/2023 09:34

Enjoy your lovely home @Bodybags I totally get this feeling.

mondaytosunday · 05/02/2023 09:38

Plan on not doing much! Dogs have been out and cats fed. Im about to get breakfast and make some banana bread. I need to nip to Lidl later to buy cat food. Other than that I plan on doing the least amount of tidying I can get away with and spend most of the day on a crochet project while watching some TV. My daughter has had a hell of a few weeks with A level coursework due snd applications for next year so will not get dressed and just work on her history essay.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 05/02/2023 09:49

Morning! It’s going to be a quiet day here. I’ve just started the Zoe nutrition thing and am really missing my morning coffee. Have tried to eat Tim Spector’s magic muffins but ended up vomming everywhere, they’re so unpleasant.
DD is in her room, with DP’s phone. DP is pottering around and I’m about to go and have a bath.
Not sure what we’ll have for lunch (well, DD and DP - I’ll be having more of the evil muffins), but I’m going to make a rhubarb crumble so there’s something nice to look forward to once Muffin Hell is over.
DP will probably take DD to the park, and I’ll get cracking on the laundry mountain - might give our new heated airer a test drive. Woo hoo!
We’ll probably have leftover Indian takeaway for supper, followed by the crumble.

Shergill15 · 05/02/2023 09:59

I was up early to take a delivery ( birthday presents for DD). We've got the usual Sunday tasks of homework, hair wash, prepping school and work clothes etc. Will need to walk to shop for a few top up bits ahead of supermarket delivery tomorrow night. Then DD has an activity with a friend later, me and the other mum will have a coffee whilst they do it. By the time that's done it will be home for a quick dinner. Then bed for DD and Happy Valley for me!

Whendovescry03 · 05/02/2023 10:04

Good morning! It was my turn for a lie in today and I was woken up by my son and cats to bright sunshine which makes a lovely change. We had pancakes for breakfast and now we're just getting ready to head to the woods for a walk. Then we'll either buy stuff for a roast dinner or have one out, not decided yet. I need to get through some laundry as well (so perhaps we're better eating at home). Got a very chilled evening planned and might watch a film.

Chevyimpala67 · 05/02/2023 10:05

I intend to do as little as possible other than a walk at some point
Didn't sleep well and had an awful week so lots of tv and reading
