I'm just drinking my first brew of the day in silence, apart from the fridge humming to itself. Bliss!

Today's going to be a day off-ish. There are still a couple of things to do - iron school shirts and a few pots to wash up. I want to check I have everything sorted for Rainbows and Guides on Tuesday evening. & I'll check the girls have done any homework that was set.

Other than that, I plan to do very, very, little. I might spend the day crocheting my blanket unless inspiration to do something else strikes me!

We're having slow cooked gammon for tea 😋not sure whether as a roast or with something else yet.

Tonight, I might do my nails. I quickly filed them before going out for the evening, yesterday but fancy some colour.

What about all of you 🙂

Currently drinking my cup of tea and enjoying some cuddles while baby naps on me, 2 toddlers playing and dogs napping 🥰 DH at work till 5, so just a chilled out Sunday for us too! Have a few pots to wash later but not in any rush to do them 😂

ReformedWaywardTeen · 05/02/2023 10:11

Sunday so it's roast day.

I've already prepped it, we are having a recipe idea that DD saw on TikTok, of chicken breast, stuffed with pork sausage and sage stuffing, and then wrapped in bacon.

I'm just doing a shopping list for DH who is in the shower.

And I've made sausage rolls for everyone to take to work and school this week.

Then we will probably pop to the pub for a quick one before dinner and then it's DS turn to pick a film.

EllaVator · 05/02/2023 10:12

Morning, @lucysmam, another lovely chilled weekend for you. These threads are so calming, hearing the mundanity that we all enjoy really.

I’m still in bed, browsing MN. DH next to me reading. It was his turn to make breakfast, so we’ve had BLTs and coffee.
DS1 is vaguely awake, but shattered and still lounging in bed too.
DS2 is building Lego in his room.
DD is watching Netflix downstairs.
Dpup is asleep on me!

No plans for today at all. We will probably get dressed and take pup for a walk later with her ball, her greatest love besides us or cream.
DH will iron all the uniform, and get things ready for school & work tomorrow.
I will cook dinner, we’re having pie with roast potatoes and veg today.

I’m now off for two weeks, so no Sunday night dread for me!

Caledoniablue · 05/02/2023 10:15

Good morning all! Love reading these threads.
We are still recovering from a horrid virus which has ripped through the house, I still feel awful and seem to have actually pulled stomach muscles with coughing so it's a quiet day for us.
Ds is currently playing cars, dh is putting up a new washing line for me and I'm trying to put together a shopping list. Will send dh to do the shop later, I'll clean the floors and it'll probably be an easy pasta bake for dinner, will take ds to the park later this afternoon to get some fresh air I think

IsThisNameTaken · 05/02/2023 10:17

Gym, Tesco, roast chicken then sit and wait for Happy Valley!

Hopingforno2in2023 · 05/02/2023 10:19

Been for a run in the beautiful frosty sunshine. Just about to head to church then lunch and then DS has a birthday party to attend so an unusually busy Sunday for us.

MeMyCatsAndMyBooks · 05/02/2023 10:19

Chill day today had a busy day yesterday. Need to pop to the local corner shop for some veg for a roast dinner, cook roast dinner, do DCS homework with them, build ds2 new Lego with him and then a nice hot bath & a early night with call the midwife.
I'm shattered today!

Simonjt · 05/02/2023 10:20

Good morning, we’ve been out for breakfast and my lovely son really loudly announced to the entire place that the pancakes were ugly, not awkward at all. Currently watching a sheep have a pedicure on the telly, I think she is called either Belinda or Linda.

Rugby today, we’re going to our club to watch it, so I’m looking forward to that.

It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago and we weren’t able to do anything, so a friend is here today so he can have the smalls over night and the nightmare that is getting ready for school so we can go away for the night. I have no idea where we are going, but as we’re wild we are going to start watching the last of us.

weegiemum · 05/02/2023 10:20

I've got up and tidied the kitchen, finished prepping for Sunday School this morning.

So church, which at ours always includes lunch, then dd1 is coming round with her boyfriend as it's her 23rd birthday tomorrow. We've bought them tickets to the Ireland/Scotland 6 nations rugby match in a few weeks for their joint birthday pressie, so I'm quite excited about handing them over! We'll probably watch the rugby this afternoon.

Roast chicken for dinner tonight Yum!

Tangerinie · 05/02/2023 10:22

I'm still in bed (again) as I have one hell of a cold. My poor head. Not sure if I should just make myself get up and shake it off, but not inclined to ATM. Poor DH is doing all childcare this weekend and I am being useless 😩

Angliski · 05/02/2023 10:23

Having lovely cooked breakfast at our hotel. Then packing up and heading to a little farm with 3 yr old ds. I am on weekend leave from hospital after breaking my back when I was hit by a car before Christmas. Waking up with my DH and ds was the best thing ever and I am so grateful to be here! Beautiful sky… hoping I can navigate the farm in my wheelchair- still learning a lot about terrain and self propelling.

I've been wondering how you've been getting on! Glad your on weekend leave with your beautiful family. Have a lovely day.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 05/02/2023 10:30

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I have been up since before seven. I could hear dgs1 coughing in his bed just about half six but left him, thinking he might go back to sleep. Big mistake! He had decided to get up and play with his playdough. In his bed. 😱 I put my hand on cold, damp lumps in his bed. You can imagine what I thought it was. His pristine white sheet is an abstract art wonder. So I've washed a load of whites, made a slow cooker steak casserole and fed him sausages, hash brown and egg. Now we're back to watching feckin Vlad and Niki on YouTube. Dgs1 is only touching four so I won't let him watch it on his own.

HairyMaclary · 05/02/2023 10:31

Dreading tomorrow, mocks start for Y13 DS1 and he’s finding it all really hard. He should sail through A levels but has been overwhelmed with anxiety. 😟 if he doesn’t make it into school for mocks I don’t think he’ll sit the real A levels and then he’ll be so cross with himself.

Otherwise DH is out for a run, coming back with brunch stuff for DS1 and 2. DS2 will play some gentle basketball as is recovering from a broken wrist and do some revision for assessments next week (basically GCSE revision).

I’m going to try not to stress too much, about DS and a very busy work week next week, so will probably take myself off for a walk, put the washing out on the line and maybe cook a roast tonight?

borisescomb · 05/02/2023 10:33

Im a little jaded today after dh and I polished off a fair amount of wine last night Blush

We have loads to do today as well. Lots of housework and organising ready for some work to begin next week. Also need to pop out and grab some shopping and some clothing bits for the dc.

Will try and have a walk later as it's a lovely day here. Might blow away the cobwebs.

Tea will be sausages, mash and veg in lieu of a full Sunday roast. Then after dc are in bed I usually do yoga on a Sunday evening but since it's the happy valley finale I'll probably watch that instead.

TheChippendenSpook · 05/02/2023 10:43

I've got an unexpected full weekend free as I don't need to go back down to London until tomorrow evening. I'm nearly at the end of a very long course snd I'm exhausted so it's going to be a very chilled day.

Saying that, I need to start revising for my final exam.

Emmamoo89 · 05/02/2023 10:44

Just a lazy day reading and drinking tea 😊 hope everyone has a lovely day

lljkk · 05/02/2023 10:50

Bank account admin
Selling stuff on ebay for charity (this is taking hours)
Swimming
fetch something from freecycle
I should try sawing wood & cleaning house, too. Weather is glorious, terrible day to be inside

DH took DS to a sports event, they'll be back early afternoon & DH will be asleep on sofa 4-5pm

Giggorata · 05/02/2023 10:52

Good morning lucysmam and all!

We had a lie in and got up to a lovely sunny day.
The dogs seem to have collectively decided to demolish their kennel, so I am researching and ordering its replacement, whilst DH is removing the worst bits with nails, etc. I wish they had waited until we got the new concrete base done for the new resited run.

The house is still chaotic, in the throes of getting the hall done, so,I totally empathise with you, @Bodybags, how lovely! and can't wait for my turn.
So my day will be laundry and pottering, as much as I can.
I am organising my magazine collections into folders, ready for the new shelves, the danger being that I stop and read instead of getting on.
DH is going down to the land with some cardboard and old papers to line the huge compost bin. We are having the hedge planted this week, an English hedgerow mix. Very happy about this and looking forward to the wildlife.
DH made a sausage casserole in the slow cooker for tonight, then Happy Valley.

@Angliski, so glad you're still here, too, all warm wishes for your recovery.

weebarra · 05/02/2023 10:53

Oldest is having a maths tutorial online, DH is out coaching his under 10s girls footie team.
I'm taking DS2 and DD to see Puss in Boots at the cinema, then supermarket.
Then home and getting organised for school tomorrow.
Last week before half term!

Angliski · 05/02/2023 11:06

@MeMyCatsAndMyBooks thank you for your care. We are getting there. Another eight weeks of full on rehab and then we will see where I am at. Your username sounds like other my perfect day!

Kim82 · 05/02/2023 11:10

Morning everyone. We’ve had a very slow start today. Me, dh and dd8 were awake by 8.15am, dh has gone out to work and me and dd have been slobbing on the sofa al morning in our pjs. I’ve just made us some breakfast (bacon on toast for me, porridge for dd) and we’ll get washed and dressed after we’ve eaten.

Dd’s friend has already called for her once this morning so no doubt she’ll be playing out most of the day, dd15 has a school photography trip to Manchester so will be setting off in an hour (I should check she’s awake really as I haven’t heard her…), dd18 will just be mooching about the house today I imagine after work last night and I’ll do my usual Sunday clean and iron the uniforms. Roast chicken for tea today then homework, bath and bed for the little one while the rest of us find something to watch on tv later.

MeinKraft · 05/02/2023 11:14

Morning everyone. Think I've got a bit of a chest infection starting. Roast chicken is in the oven for Sunday lunch. Baby is napping and DS is glued to Roblox. We'll have our lunch around 1 then DH is working at 2pm so I'll take the kids somewhere. Maybe just put to the park for an hour because we have to fit in bathtime and all that. When they're sleeping I'll watch telly and chill, might catch up on Happy Valley. Then bed early!

MoomiMama · 05/02/2023 11:21

I’ve been out for a run, done a load of washing, changed beds and bagged DC to do homework! Now feeling quite accomplished and enjoying a cuppa on the sofa.
It is a glorious sunny day here which smells of spring. Unfortunately the sun also shows up how filthy the windows are so I might tackle those later.
Talk of pancakes upthread has made me think we could have that for lunch.
Hosting a playdate later, but they should need much input from me. Then a treat dinner of streak - which definitely calls for a 🍷.

SanFranBear · 05/02/2023 11:23

Currently sat outside Costa, having a delicious Earl Grey whilst waiting for DS to finish his new coding class.

Then we'll nip home for lunch and then swimming this afternoon followed by chores that I've been putting off.

It's a beautiful day, the sun is shining and I had amazing sex with a new man yesterday so smiles all the way today!
