I'm just drinking my first brew of the day in silence, apart from the fridge humming to itself. Bliss!

Today's going to be a day off-ish. There are still a couple of things to do - iron school shirts and a few pots to wash up. I want to check I have everything sorted for Rainbows and Guides on Tuesday evening. & I'll check the girls have done any homework that was set.

Other than that, I plan to do very, very, little. I might spend the day crocheting my blanket unless inspiration to do something else strikes me!

We're having slow cooked gammon for tea 😋not sure whether as a roast or with something else yet.

Tonight, I might do my nails. I quickly filed them before going out for the evening, yesterday but fancy some colour.

What about all of you 🙂

Coffee, walk dog, coffee, dinner , telly, coffee, walk dog, tea, bath, telly, biscuits, telly, bed.

A typical Sunday.. not much changed from the days I'd watch Bullseye or tape the top 40.

@EllaVator I enjoy the little snippets of everyone's lives. It's quite comforting seeing that most of us are just going about every-day stuff iyswim.

@grayhairdontcare would you share your slow cooker balti recipe/method, please? I should use mine more really but never know what to put in it 🤔

@OldTinHat I'm glad you didn't fall over yesterday 🙂

@HairyMaclary wishing your ds all the best with his mocks. Dd1's currently revising for her next round of GCSE mocks & is starting to feel the pressure a bit, even though she's perfectly capable of smashing the targets set by school/her own personal goals.

Me, the dogs and kids today. No DP. Going to make a nice big brunch shortly when the kids get up then off out to the beach to run the cobwebs off us all. I have a couple of hours of paperwork to do so will let dogs and kids alike chill out till dinner (indian cos i cant be arsed thinking) and then a hot bath with a glass of wine and my kindle before bed. Bank holiday tomorrow where I am so nice and chilled out then too.

grayhairdontcare · 05/02/2023 11:34

@lucysmam I highly recommend Bored of Lunch slow cooker recipe book.
He does pasta and Chinese noodle dishes and everything in between.
I always do a slow cooker dish for a Monday.
I have it plugged into a timer socket so I control when it comes in as I leave the house at 6

Chelsea26 · 05/02/2023 11:57

Still in bed with DP - we were out with our neighbours last night and it ended up in a kitchen disco (it always ends up in a kitchen disco!)

DP was meant to be finishing off some gardening today but I have convinced him to go to the aquadrome with the dog for a walk and then a pub for Sunday lunch instead so we’re about to get up.

will text my two friends who live near the aquadrome to see if they want to join us.

probably cheese and crackers for dinner after the Sunday lunch and some masterchef this evening.

Update: DD has a cold, and even the mildest one for her always hits her face and she gets streaming eyes/nose. Bless her ☹️ so going out came to nothing, but DS has just been invited next door for a bit of a play. We have the best neighbours 😆 he can blow away the cobwebs, I can get some jobs done, and DD can read and sniffle undisturbed by anyone but the cat.

I've visited my dad in the care home, came home and sowed some tomato seeds into pots to start off. I have just had a small salad lunch and once I've finished my cup of tea, will go back out and hack out a bit more of the grass to extend the border on one side of the garden.

I might move some pots about as well.

No DC so maybe a little different.
Sunday is my reset day- last loads of laundry on and bedding changed.
Supermarket this morning for the weekly shop and haven't finished unpacking yet as I'm deep cleaning the fridge!
I've got podcasts playing in my AirPods and I'll hoover the flat, put away laundry, iron work clothes for the week and make a roast later. Then bath and fresh pj's ready for happy valley, I do my nails on a Sunday eve too.
DP is out for a long run and he's going to do some DIY jobs when he gets home.

We both work busy stresfull jobs and long hours during the week so we love our weekends.

Theoldwoman · 05/02/2023 12:51

Bedtime now but today was a pretty lazy Sunday!

Always do some washing , dishes and set the robot vacuum off 2 or 3 times.
Walked the dog.
Took DD to work and picked up.
Checked on my elderly neighbour whose husband is pretty unwell in hospital.
Lots of watering of nearly dead garden.
And some violin practice.

A pretty nice day!

WinterFoxes · 05/02/2023 12:54

Got up early for a walk in the sunshine and the woods with DH but since then have been slobbing on MN or reading. No plans to do much else, either.

JooliaJane · 05/02/2023 13:11

Tidying up in garden, Sunny and bright, lovely. Later on My PMs and my saucy friend.
Making a shopping list to fit in with diet. Going back to Fast 800 by Michael Mosley.
Back to clearing some stuff from shed.

lucysmam · 05/02/2023 13:42

@grayhairdontcare thank you, I'll have a look for that later on & see if I can find a 2nd hand copy since I've just had a Jamie Oliver cook book & not made anything from it yet.

I've done some washing, slooowly ironed and prepped veg for tea tonight, and prepped tomorrows slow cooked sweet chilli chicken. I'm looking forward to tomorrow! There are a few pots to wash after my prep and washing to hang.

I think that's enough for today!

@AllotmentTime Yes, it was! 😁 I used my stick and my ankle ached like crazy but I stayed on my feet - which was an achievement!! Film was worth the risk- Knock on the Cabin or something like that.

I'm envious that you're so active though. I see my 88yr old neighbour whizzing about and I'm 51 and can hardly move 🙄 Sigh...

Enjoy your afternoons everyone!
