I’d say 45
started getting eye lids hanging over at corners

9 years? That's when I started getting acne.

DuncanBiscuits · 23/01/2023 19:20

This time of year is the worst for it. That low winter sun is a right cunt.

Topsy44 · 23/01/2023 19:24

I was 45 when I noticed one day looking in the car rear view mirror that I had marionette lines!!!

spiggydit · 23/01/2023 19:29

I realised I was starting to look like my Nan during the pandemic when I spent hours on bloody Zoom meetings

Now in my late 50s my Nans face stares back ALL the time. Though as the alternative to ageing is to die young I'm ok with ageing 🤷‍♀️

44/45.
Until then I could kid myself on a good day I hadn't changed at all. Then, jaw line hinting at future sagging in the jowl area, eyelids sagging a bit, lines on the neck that don't go away.
Ho hum. At least I'm healthy.
My personal frustration is that due to life responsibility overload I have SO little time for self care I'm really struggling to combat the process and do what I can to care for my body as it is clearly less supple than it was now. 🙄 I really want to shed some of my load so I can give myself more time, instead it's like watching a car crash in super slow mo. 🤣

This!! Last year (42) I noticed the pouches where dimples used to peep beguilingly, and this year as I turn 43 I have THE most horrendous puffy eye bags any time I drink a ml less than I should of water or sleep less than 8 hours through.
This coincides with two kids in secondary, full time demanding job out of the house, DH relapsing long covid in a big way, and no family support so I run round being everything to everyone except myself.
I think I still look fairly decent, so not worried too much, but would like to shore my health & wellbeing up with more exercise & time for myself!

Mid 40s. Jowls, tache, white eyebrow hairs 😱 -lovely 🙄

piedbeauty · 23/01/2023 19:42

Oh yes and eyelids. When I go for an eye test the optician has to lift my eyelid with his finger when he asks me to look down as my eyelids are drooping. FML.

cravingtoblerone · 23/01/2023 19:43

Around 40, the start of saggy jowls and waist thickening....

piedbeauty · 23/01/2023 19:43

And the backs of my hands!! They look 100.

@krill that's tech-neck in the younger ones from spending too much time staring downwards at phones.

My face looks mostly the same.

Eyelids have dropped but you can still see my eyeshadow when my eyes are open. I used to work with someone who you could only see her eyeshadow when she blinked, she was the same age I am now mid-40's so I guess I'm not doing too bad. I apply my eyeshadow higher into the socket now.

Some slight lines on my forehead. But you'd have to have your face a couple inches from mine to see.

My skin hasn't gone anywhere yet but looks somehow softer and looser.

And hairier! I've always been a bit fuzzy but now on my jawline it's grown a bit longer. I no longer bring my makeup down that far because it highlights the hairs if I do.

I don't understand my body 😳

I've had pain in my breasts and thought it was how I was sitting perhaps, but my partner hugged me and announced my breasts were bigger and I've realized my bras don't fit, they're digging in. Eh?

I'm the same weight but my jeans are tighter, how's that? Not shrunk and I still look the same, it's a mystery.

Does anyone have answers please? 🙏

I read online recently when you have breast pain in the Menopause years its because your breasts are growing, ive had breast pain for past four years and yes i have gone up three cup sizes and one back size

itsnotmeitisactuallyyou · 23/01/2023 20:03

When I was 45, an 18 y/o told me I had 'crumbling eyelids' during an eye exam. 10 yrs & many eye tests later, its never been said again but I never forgot it : (
For me tho', it was age 54. Having lost lots of weight & looking good age 50-4, my Partner died. My last parent died. I have 2 teens with ASD. Their Dad is a wolf. It shows - I am exhausted.

icanneverthinkofnc · 23/01/2023 20:57

Round about 52/53 for me, I was complimented frequently about being young looking up until then. Menopausal weight, jowls, eyes etc are now overtaking. Even my teeth don't look as white, although all in good condition.

56 now..downhill from here on, I reckon.

TakeMe2Insanity · 23/01/2023 20:59

My mother’s sudden death aged me more than anything. I was 46, but physically it aged me in a way nothing ever had.

ARoughRide · 23/01/2023 20:59

46/47.

I suddenly aged overnight, several months after having a total hysterectomy. I wish I’d realised how useful ovaries were, I’d likely have kept them. That said, the mental help HRT has given me has been amazing.

Why are they growing though? Is menopause like second puberty? But it's the reverse...so shouldn't they be shrinking? 🤔 I know nothing 🤦
