I’d say 45
started getting eye lids hanging over at corners

62

Probably around 50, but I'm lucky I've inherited my mum's great sun, she has barely any wrinkles at 84. My jaw line is sagging a bit now though. If I could fix that without surgery I would.

Backstreets · 23/01/2023 16:27

I'm 40 and not quite there yet but my neck gives me a fright every time I take a photo, might need to invest in some nice scarves!

onemouseplace · 23/01/2023 16:32

45 definitely - whoever used the word pouchy jowls up thread had it bang on.

Up until this point I think I've always looked a fairly indeterminate age - could have been anywhere in my 30s or 40s. I most definitely look like I am heading towards my late-40s now though.

YerAWizardHarry · 23/01/2023 16:36

I’m (almost) 30 and still get ID’d 9 times out of 10 buying age restricted products. Also have people audibly gasp when I tell them I’ve got a 10 year old child

Whendovescry03 · 23/01/2023 16:46

Much earlier for me, around age 30. Through my 20s I looked very young, was always ID'd or had my age commented on so perhaps it was obvious when the combination of a child and a stressful job started to make an impact on my looks! For me it was the suddenly obvious lines around the eyes when I smile, lines on my forehead and my skin looking less plump.

LongerThanADryJanuary23 · 23/01/2023 16:47

38 but nothing that a bit of botox and filler hasn't smoothed out, a decade later and I'm still looking pretty peachy 🤗

krill · 23/01/2023 17:13

I have preventative, so tiny amount of Botox's and no lines yet in late 30s. Though I can see bodily changes, and I have to exercise harder to stay toned.

I don't think most people will notice significantly much until post 40, but with an interest in aesthetics (and from style and beauty here) I notice that signs of ageing and lines can appear even early 30s and much more by late 30s. The jowls and sagging, general slippage all over, tends to be 40s - 50s, though can be sooner or later. Unless you're blessed with high cheekbones and good bone structure!

krill · 23/01/2023 17:16

Autocorrect there! Botox not Botox's.

Girlintheframe · 23/01/2023 17:20

Things started to change mid 40s

krill · 23/01/2023 17:21

Neck ageing has been mentioned.

If anyone else has noticed. I think neck lines appear very early on. I see them so frequently in early 20s onwards. Few people are unlined even at that age. I think it's the late 30s onwards loosening of the skin on the neck that is the bigger sign of ageing.

IndianSummer78 · 23/01/2023 18:30

@krill that's tech-neck in the younger ones from spending too much time staring downwards at phones.

My face looks mostly the same.

Eyelids have dropped but you can still see my eyeshadow when my eyes are open. I used to work with someone who you could only see her eyeshadow when she blinked, she was the same age I am now mid-40's so I guess I'm not doing too bad. I apply my eyeshadow higher into the socket now.

Some slight lines on my forehead. But you'd have to have your face a couple inches from mine to see.

My skin hasn't gone anywhere yet but looks somehow softer and looser.

And hairier! I've always been a bit fuzzy but now on my jawline it's grown a bit longer. I no longer bring my makeup down that far because it highlights the hairs if I do.

I don't understand my body 😳

I've had pain in my breasts and thought it was how I was sitting perhaps, but my partner hugged me and announced my breasts were bigger and I've realized my bras don't fit, they're digging in. Eh?

I'm the same weight but my jeans are tighter, how's that? Not shrunk and I still look the same, it's a mystery.

Does anyone have answers please? 🙏

TandyOh · 23/01/2023 18:34

It’s started this past year. I’m coming up to 46. I just look so tired all the time now.

At 40, I honestly looked early 30s. But I suddenly look every day of my age. I’m also ragingly perimenopausal and just feel so grotty. Have just started HRT. Praying it helps.

Dude read the room 😂

You've possibly lost muscle mass then. Do you lift weights at all? I'm in a group on fb and the results for women of menopausal age are incredible. One woman recently posted before and after pics and she went from looking like typical middle aged spread to a tiny waist and curves like a twenty year old.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 23/01/2023 18:51

Also 45 - I'm watching it happen day by day. And my same-age friends are still looking good, which makes me wonder what they are doing differently! I suspect it is sleep, regular exercise and eating better than me.

Not sure this is the thread for you dear 😂😂

BeanyBops · 23/01/2023 18:53

35 and coinciding with my first child and not getting any proper rest or sleep for 18m solid. The grey hairs appeared by the multitude Nd suddenly all the wrinkles started showing up. And a funny puffiness to my face but that might be the extra weight. Joy.

adriftabroad · 23/01/2023 18:56

47ish

IndianSummer78 · 23/01/2023 18:57

@FrostyFifi thank you. I can't exercise any more that must be it then. I've still got the same figure so I guess I haven't changed much, just noticed it in my jeans.

Mydogisanaughtyboy · 23/01/2023 18:58

43 - it like I've gone face first into a brick wall. Booked in for botox and fillers ASAP!

MonsoonMadness · 23/01/2023 18:59

50 for me. I looked great at 49. Then my father died and menopause started. All downhill from there.

DuncanBiscuits · 23/01/2023 18:59

I lost two stone and my face fell off.

myusernamewastakenbyme · 23/01/2023 19:17

Im almost 49...im still quite happy with my face....my hair though is a different story....the grey roots are horrendous and i dont know how much longer i can be bothered to dye it.
