I’d say 45
started getting eye lids hanging over at corners

About 37/38. I got married in 2018 when I was 35 and looking back at photos I look really well, good skin/hair/weight etc. Then from the start of covid really its just been one stress after another, my anxiety has gone through the roof, and this has all had a negative affect on my appearance and I have definitely aged a lot of the last couple of years.

Desmondo2021 · 23/01/2023 13:44

45 but only subtly so far. Still feels quite reversible with a week off booze and increasing my water. But I do feel the permanent changes are looming 🤣

SallyWD · 23/01/2023 14:14

48 now and starting to look my age after many years of looking younger. I have a few lines around my eyes but no worse than someone in their 30s. What's really aging me is my neck! Very loose and saggy.

Greatly · 23/01/2023 14:16

This year and I'm 56! Just trying to find a reputable botox place.

Early 40s is a world away from late 40s

TheaBrandt · 23/01/2023 14:19

A huge group of us similar age women go on an annual trip got a flashback pic of when we were all early 40s compared to now late 40s wow the change is massive - in all 20 odd of us

SlowHorses67 · 23/01/2023 14:25

50, always looked young for my age, hit 50 and I would say my (average) look’s plummeted. Weight gain and lost my thick mane of hair. Trying to claw something back this year by losing weight.

Itgoesalittlesomethinglikethis · 23/01/2023 14:30

38
Whilst standing in a lift, I had what appeared to be the lights of Las Vegas directed at my face from the ceiling, which i'd love to blame for how lined my skin looked. I gasped and kept thinking about it all day. That, was the first time I noticed. I'm trying to embrace it but still went out and bought hyaluronic acid serum amongst other things.

Echobelly · 23/01/2023 14:36

I'm 45 and I'd say in the last year out so. I'm definitely getting more 'stout'- even when I lose some weight nothing about me looks especially slim. Jowls are starting and having looked much younger than I am (people would assume 10+ years younger), I'd say I think most people would clock I'm in my 40s. And I'm fine with that, I don't need anything from looking young and I don't notice being invisible to men as I always have been anyway! 😄

DNBU · 23/01/2023 14:46

Now! 35. 😬

FrostyFifi · 23/01/2023 14:53

This. So so this. At 42 I looked not much different to twenties/thirties.
Five years later and oh dear lord. My face and neck have been vandalised. Just been catapulted from youth to middle age.

OneAndDon3 · 23/01/2023 14:54

I'm with @BooCrew lockdown tipped me over the edge. So 39 with a one year old, a full time job with no give in it and no childcare, no sleep because I was starting work at 5am and finishing at 10pm to be able to get it all done.

I came out of lockdown and had Botox.

Now I look at my jowls a bit suspiciously. I'm mainly happy with how I look but I'm aware it's all on the downward slope.

Crikeyalmighty · 23/01/2023 14:57

Late 40s- I'm now 61 and never much like pictures of me

MiniDinosaur · 23/01/2023 14:58

TulipCat · 23/01/2023 11:45

46, my neck and jawline started looking saggy on Zoom calls, plus the arrival of the menopause tummy.

Same, my face is ok if I ignore the crows feet, but my neck, chest and hands are suddey those of an old lady. No ampunt of moisturiser or serums makes a difference. My hair has lost its gloss, too.

Palmfrond · 23/01/2023 14:59

I told a friend recently “god I look middle aged”. They replied that I’ve always looked middle aged. I take that as a win.

Prettypaisleyslippers · 23/01/2023 15:02

47, just had Botox for the first time, one side hasn’t taken and I’m super wrinkly. I’ve had eye infections (contact lenses) and without eye makeup I have tiny piggy eyes.

im considering fillers in cheek to lift face.

aldi considering giving up the booze, I work in a sector that drinks a lot, I’m sure that’s aged me too

whereisthis · 23/01/2023 15:04

Same as most people on here, ‘I’d say mid 40s. About to turn 50 and still usually pretty ok with how I look. I tell myself the mirrors I look best in are how I really look : )
I try to keep fit and active and have started a physically challenging hobby and I think that helps with being positive about my body and physical self. Helps to shift focus solely from looks to what your body does for you.

NCOfCourse12345 · 23/01/2023 15:06

I am 40 and I can see slight jowls but still don't feel old lookwise. Aware it won't last forever.

Interesting thread.

pinkstripeycat · 23/01/2023 15:30

When my kids stopped being so demanding and I got a chance to look in the mirror. Age 43 I’d say. Now I can’t stop noticing I’m getting older daily.
I remember looking on the mirror and thinking why I looked so different. I realised my eyelids had drooped and was absolutely stunned I hadn’t noticed!

IglesiasPiggl · 23/01/2023 15:34

48 for me, and the appearance of the matronly bosom. I put on a coat I've worn every winter for over a decade and it wouldn't do up over the bust.

OhPeggySue · 23/01/2023 15:53

OpportunityKnockss · 23/01/2023 11:21

51, before that I didn’t look
young but still felt really pretty.

51 for me too. The bloom of youth is now but a distant memory!

ChangedToday · 23/01/2023 16:04

50-ish suddenly last year noticed the skin on my arms and hands being much less elastic and quite papery looking. Fits with menopause.

SideshowAuntSallly · 23/01/2023 16:05

45, I notice the skin under my eyes is crepey (might be lack of sleep and not enough water too) and lines on my forehead are deeper. It seems its since Christmas that I've started noticing it more. I look at a photo from November and even though I look tired I look good (no wrinkles or deep lined, smooth skin).

AnSionnachGlic · 23/01/2023 16:12

Around 50. I'm nearly 52 now and over last year started using vitamin c serum every day and retinol every night. I make sure I bring it down my neck and chest. I walk the dogs daily and I've upped my water consumption. I also started hrt patches! It's definitely slowing the onslaught of wrinkles and I'm starting to look a little fresher. It's an uphill battle however!

whenindoubtgotothelibrary · 23/01/2023 16:24

About 50 I think. Always looked young for my age, but like a pp I suddenly got a matronly bosom ( now a D cup having been an A most of my life). No wrinkles but my jawline and skin tone has sort of softened and sagged. I had toned arms and happily wore sleeveless tops up until about 48/9, but wouldn't dream of it now. My hands seem to have gone a bit papery, clawlike and liver spotted as well. I look delightful, honest!
